Just a quick question - the c-sec officer that confronts Aria - does anyone know her VA.
It is just so annoying that Aria (crime lord) can just call up the Asari councilor and no, crime lord, you don't need to play by the rules.

You mean when first talking to Aria on the Citadel, right? It's Alix Wilton Regan voicing the officer ![]()

Well the idea is that she has that much pull with the Asari councilor. It would work if Aria had done more than sit on a couch for all of ME2.
A very quick one last night:
After we had landed at the Azure Hotel, Vasir called in more of her troops and fled the scene. Liara, Jack and I fought a few waves and then followed Vasir. We came across a... very interesting vid in the hotel. Liara explained to me why it's called Azure Hotel. I see what kind of place this is... haha, not bad.
We pressed on and followed Vasir's trail, seems she's bleeding heavily. When we caught up, she took a hostage, but I kept talking to her so Liara could set up a nice surprise. She threw one of the tables at Vasir and the hostage was safe. Good.
We fought Vasir and some of her mooks until Vasir was to weak to continue fighting. When I told her what she did was wrong, she said I should take a look at myself for working with Cerberus, and I get what she says, but... no one else is doing anything against the Collectors! Vasir died and Liara had checked the data Vasir had on her. She didn't even pause, she was different... restless, cold, insistent on finding Feron. All right Liara, I get it, but calm down. We're gonna do it and get him out alive. What happened to you in those two years, Liara? You were so innocent back then... guess her hunt for the Shadow Broker has made her obsessive in a way. So let's get to it.
We soon landed on the exterior of the Shadow Broker ship on Hagalaz. It's f*cking huge, damn! And the surrounding storm might make things difficult. Oh well, I'm hoping for the best. At least it's got a nice view.
Have some pictures:
First time ever I used Stasis on Vasir. It was... interesting
I only put 2 points into it, so of course I couldn't use Stasis on her forever, but it still worked out somehow. In hindsight I could've probably put more points into it instead of into Singularity because I have Jack's Pull Field. But let's see, maybe Singularity also comes in handy.
Also died once because one of the normal mooks flanked me. Argh.
I'm considering whether to do any more side quests or not. I've already reached Level 30 and I'm a bit burned out with ME2 currently (that somehow always happened so far in between when playing ME2, I don't know why that happens
), so I might just go get the Reaper IFF, do Legion's LM and go for the Collector Base right away. Let's see.
It´s been a long time.
After exactly five months without a desktop (having to resort to a laptop unsuited for gaming) I was finally able to replay mass effect on my new rig. My only component still missing is the dedicated graphic card, but since the ME trilogy is old I am being able to play them using the on-board components. A few more weeks and the new toy will arrive.
I have lost practically everything in terms of files, so I´m starting over. Luckily, the cloud-saving features of origin did the trick and my profiles and saves for ME1 and 3 are retained. Strangely, there was an issue with my mass effect 2 profile. So I have lost all my achievements.
During this week, I´ve beaten it really fast and on insanity in order to get the extra experience in future plays. I also replayed some sections in order to kill enemies that were just punched, had barriers detonated, shields disrupted, were in flames, screaming, hit in the head... Oh, and I also infiltrated the batarian prison without being detected. Was able to survive the suicide mission with only loyal morinth and unloyal zaed holding the line, while everyone else perished, including miranda and jacob who were with me against the mecha-terminator. Reached level 16 just prior to the final boss fight.
In my next play, during this weekend (carnival time is coming) I believe I shall be able to regain all my lost achievements. Now that I obtain experience more easily and have morinth´s dominate power as bonus (the only one available) I can do a completionist quest starting with a level one character. I shall probably do it on normal level just to speed things up. Only then, with all bonus powers available (including liara´s) I will start to have some fun with this game again.
After that, I think I shall raise my mass effect 3 online readiness ( it´s down to 50%) and then start my canon run of the trilogy. I hope later to be able to do a trilogy run of each class in succession in time for mass effect andromeda release.
Did the entire prologue section of ME2.
Watched Genesis (actually, skipped it but made the decisions).
Even though there was an emergency at a local human colony, I took the time to talk with Miranda and Jacob. Plus, I made some aesthetically motivated changes to the armor. (no need to enhance the set trying to benefit the class based on effectiveness while normal mode is quite easy)
Arrived on Freedom´s progress minutes after the collectors departed. Maybe if I just tried to get sooner instead of wasting time talking and looking at a mirror... While there I witnessed a Heavy Mech decimating a group of careless quarians like a boss. A first boss, but a boss.
Got the Normandy-A and my old pilot back.
Obtained two tanks (a tank inside a tank), but did not wake up the krogan yet.
Recruited Garrus, Zaed and Mordin on Omega.
Mordin was the last one.
Did the first section of the game without installing a single upgrade.
Including Horizon! Defeated the collectors with no upgrades on my equipment. Did not purchase anything from the stores yet. Took Mordin and Miranda with me because incinerate and warp are most useful on this mission.
Received a message from Hacket saying that arrival was now available. Also received TIM´s message about Liara´s dlc.
Installed a few upgrades.
Jacob and Miranda are concerned about family matters.
Tomorrow I intent to recruit Kasumi, and do the loyalty missions of Kasumi, Zaed, Jacob, Miranda, Jack and also to activate Grunt. I hope this makes the collector ship available. If not, I will simply do hammerhead missions until the collector ship is triggered plus the normandy crash site if needed since I´m anxious to obtain the extra weapon (my engineer is limited to pistols and smgs).
From the journal of David Shepard:
Hey Shepard. Sorry we did not write in your journal for the past few days; we know how much you missed it. We were all too busy but expect more updates from us in the future. Anyway, my youngest sister called again and told me to punch you if you interrupted one of our calls again. Who knows, I might punch you anyway. Keep you humble, you know?
Garrus seems obsessed with calibrating the Mako. He blames your driving. He also says you should start using the cannon more since he improved it, says he does not know why you insist on stepping out and killing everything on foot. He did not come right out and say you were crazy, but since he won't, I will: you are nuts and are going to get us killed! I mean you made us shoot all those Rachni on foot when it would have been easier and safer to just shoot them. That cannon has some a pretty good blast radius, you know?
Anyway, it's good to know you are a complete softy with a weakness for chocolate and chick flicks. Not sure why you don't like pizza and action flicks like a normal marine. God, you are such a dweeb.
Roses are red,
Asari are blue.
You look like crap
And you smell like poo.
-- Love, Ashley
I am an Engineer. How can I not find a way to hack-proof this stupid thing? And they are not "chick flicks", they are rom-coms! Romantic comedies, get it right! Guys can like those movies, too!
Aaaaaah!
Well, today was very productive at least. We landed on a fairly desolate planet, the site of one the Rachni shipments we traced. We managed to reach an Alliance outpost, but it had long been overrun by the Rachni. We killed all the Rachni within the mission parameter radius, then bugged out to the next location. We encountered even more Rachni there.
I had brought Ashley and Wrex, and along the way to an outpost, someone farted in the Mako. Good lord, it stunk! I blamed Wrex, but then Ashley said that she did, before laughing. Then Wrex took that as a challenge and he farted. It soon devolved into a farting contest. I don't know who won, only that I lost because I could barely breathe in there. And I had my breather helmet on! Good lord was it bad!
We finally made it to the outpost and jumped out to puke. The Rachni were swarming the outpost, so I hooked up the Mako to the outpost's generator to power the outpost's defense cannons, then helped the Alliance marines stave off the attack. One their drones picked up the main Rachni nest, so we headed over there (I held my breath as much as possible for as long as possible because of the smell), then eradicated the remaining Rachni.
We traced the Rachni shipments to a ship. On board the ship, we found some logs from the Cerberus group. Not sure if this was the same group of Cerberus I killed earlier (I hope so) or if it was a different group. They mentioned a general. No idea if that was a general within their own ranks or in the Alliance ranks; no name was given. Too bad. We scuttled the ship and left the system.
On to Pinnacle Station to get some extra training in.
I had the most annoying time beating the human Reaper this time around. I brought Jacob and Garrus with me, and things were going just fine until Garrus decided to meld with the wall and left me and Jacob to run around throwing Collectors off the pedestals. After the Reaper knocked off the platform with its spine, Garrus was freed FINALLY!
From the journal of David Shepard:
So I visited Pinnacle Station today to try out their combat simulator. Pretty nice place. After completing a match (and beating the high score), some Turian named Vidinos started chewing out a human named Bryant. Vidinos was complaining that Bryant had beat his high score and thought Bryant had cheated. He threatened to throw Bryant into the brig until I stepped in and made him a wager: I would prove that Bryant was on the level if I beat all the high scores. Vidinos agreed and said he would give me one of his weapons if I succeeded.
Well... considering by how much I beat some of the high scores, you have to wonder if Vidinos was right and Bryant did cheat. I have a nagging feeling that Bryant may have rigged the simulator so I would win and keep him out of the brig. But Vidinos was sure everything was legit and was mad that I won. I took his sniper rifle even though I don't know how to use the thing. I prefer my pistol with the occasional shotgun blast.
After beating all the high scores, Ahern offered me a special scenario. I decided to make it more challenging and turn the safeties off. Kind of a stupid move in hindsight. But because of the type of leader I am... I hid behind a wall and let Wrex and Ashley shoot everything until the scenario was over. Leadership!
Ahern gave me his apartment as reward. I visited the apartment, used a terminal to access a convoy and buy some sweet equipment. Not sure where they got all this cool stuff, but I am not complaining.
I played mostly ME3 today. Good to see that there still plenty of players on the pc version online. I played a round in each scenario. After the extractions, I played some more in order to set the readiness to 100% .
Aside from that I played ME2. Visited the citadel just in order to recruit Kasumi. Did not see anderson, nor the shops, nor the security chief.
I decided I´m gonna need all the help I can get after Horizon, so I finally activated the Krogan. I now had enough companions in order to trigger the collector ship. Did the collector ship and also all of the hammerhead sections.
I also did Jacobs loyalty mission. I cant remember if one one the N7 missions requires that you complete it of if you have it available. In any event, it´s done. Decided to bring his father alive in order to face justice.
Next, I´m gonna recruit Tali. And then head to major hub world of Illium in order to help liara, miranda and purchase some star charts. I decided to wait for tali to join in order to visit Illium and the Citadel because I like her iterations with other quarians in trouble. And also, to be present at the game with the engineers.
From the journal of David Shepard:
I tracked down the Majesty, the ship piloted by Garoth's brother, Willem. It appeared it had been attacked by pirates. We tracked the pirates to a nearby planet. He eliminated the pirates at their base, and found Willem's body. I don't even want to think of why they brought the body back to their base. I also managed to kill another Thresher Maw while I was on the planet, and also survived a Geth ambush near a false signal.
Next we headed to a nearby system to tell Helena Blake that we had eliminated the two crime bosses. She wanted to take the gang in a new -- but still illegal -- direction. I managed to convince her to disband the gang, but I let her go free as part of the bargain. Perhaps not the most ideal solution, but it prevented violence and maybe they take their lives on a less crooked path.
Next, we headed out to a remote planet to see about rescuing a doctor that was being tracked, but on the way, Hackett called and told me the scientist was part of a team that was conducting studies on Akuze, the place where my old unit was massacred by Thesher Maws. We tracked down the doctor, and killed a bunch of mercs that were after him. When we finally got to the doctor himself, he was being held at gunpoint by Corporal Toombs, a member of my old unit! Turns out he had also survived the Thresher Maw attack, but unlike me, the scientists found him and used him as some sort of lab rat. They were working for Cerberus. I guess it was too much to ask that I killed all the Cerberus members when I destroyed all their bases. I managed to convince Toombs to spare the doctor so we could bring him to justice, and hopefully find out more about this Cerberus organization.
Next, Hackett wanted me to go find a probe that the Alliance had launched during the First Contact War. Apparently it had been booby-trapped with a nuke and it just started signalling back to the Alliance. But when I got to the planet, we found that it was in a mine. Someone had to have moved it there. When we got to the probe, the mine caved in behind us, then some guy taunted us on a holo, saying that he had organized The Blitz on Elysium all those years ago and that killing the first human Spectre was his revenge for the Alliance's victory that day. After disarming the nuke, we headed outside through another shaft. At the surface, we found that we were above their camp, and they had moved our Mako! Our vengeance was swift.
My assignment list is getting smaller. After I deal with the rest of these small assignments, I can finally get back on track and go to Virmire.
I've never done that yet.I decided to wait for tali to join in order to visit Illium and the Citadel because I like her iterations with other quarians in trouble.

It's a pretty easy mod to unlock the second half recruitments right away so you can get Tali, Thane, or Samara immediately. They each have dialogue for the earlier missions. Legion does too but it's a more complicated fix to get him without the Collection of the Normandy triggering.
From the journal of David Shepard:
Shepard, unlike the others on this ship, your journal has inspired me to write my autobiography. I have all the chapters planned. What do you think of this working title for the chapter about our adventures together: "I'm with Stupid"?
-- Wrex
It's like I have a big "Kick Me" sign taped to every aspect of my life.
We found a ship lifeless in space today. We boarded, and quickly found out that the entire crew had been turned into husks. From the ship logs, it appears they found an artifact that caused them to fly right into Geth space. If the Geth can make us lose our own minds... We have to stop Saren soon. Plus the Geth appear to be gearing up for an invasion starting in the Armstrong Cluster. Plus there are goodness knows how many Geth beyond the Persius Veil. This could be the start of a very ugly war with the Geth.

Missions like this one made it weird that Legion claimed the Heretics were only 5% of the Geth, not the other way around.

Yeah. Although I suppose we should keep in mind that:
No sure if Geth ever create more Geth programs; that was never discussed if I recall.
Also, the mission in question just says the crew found an artifact, then plotted a course into Geth space. It could be that they found a Reaper artifact, causing them to become indoctrinated and fly into Geth space.
Looking back (and I have said this before), the whole Geth factions split is interesting but ultimately it reduced the role of the Geth as antagonists in ME2 and ME3. I would much prefer the Geth as more constant threats throughout the series.
Yeah. Although I suppose we should keep in mind that:
- Heretic Geth were more active (apparently?) outside of Geth space than non-heretic Geth. Assume Reaper influence?
- A Geth is pure software, so you can have multiple Geth programs running on the same hardware, so in a ship, mobile platform, or in some database somewhere.

Yeah, keeping the Geth the bad guys would have removed the pointless Collectors. I consider Geth = software to be a retcon from ME1. The way Tali describes them, 1 platform = 1 geth. They seem to return to that in the ME3 Consensus "memories" too. The Geth could have changed over time, I suppose.
I do like the split and I love Legion, but I never liked that the split was so heavily on the "bad guys are a minority" angle. I would have preferred that Legion represented the minority.
Emma Shepard is on hiatus at the moment, mainly due to hair:
After around 27 hours I finally did a completionist run of ME2 that restored all my achievements. I played A LOT during the weekend. But I remembered to brush my teeth, take a shower, drink water and eat. Not much sleep, so today I plan to hibernate.
I won´t even import the character. It was just in order to have all bonuses available for new shepards. And also because I hate to see a half-opened door. I have to either open it or close it.
But it just did not seem right with the file incomplete. I had to fix it. Now I´m back at my routine. No video-games for me during the whole week since I overdid it during the weekend.
I have a lot of readings to catch-up. But in about a week or two I should start a trilogy run.
From the journal of David Shepard:
Landed on a planet to look for the Exogeni scientists mentioned in a log I found on Feros. I followed the distress signal to a base overrun with Thorian creepers. Good to know I got the right place. The remaining scientist and her security were grateful to see me, but were not happy that I wanted to arrest them. She tried to bribe me to let them go, but I refused and they opened fire. Liara threw down a singularity and I fired back. Needless to say we won rather handily.
Next we headed to the planet where a bunch of strange shipments were sent. It was a small colony with three habitats. All the colonists had been turned into husks. He killed all the husks. A pity no one survived.
I had a lot of spare equipment so I sold a bunch to our requisitions officer. Where does he get the money for all this stuff? I am in the wrong line of work if he has those kinds of resources. I mean, most of his stuff does not come from the Alliance so he buys and sells all this stuff himself. I am extremely rich now, but still... how much money does this guy have? Geez...
