From the journal of David Shepard:

Zaeed's mission was simple: go in, kill the Blue Suns mercs and rescue the refinery workers.

Only Zaeed had a different plan: kill Vido Santiago, his former partner, the guy who helped Zaeed found the Blue Suns, and the guy who had Zaeed shot and left for dead. in an effort to kill Vido, Zaeed set the refinery on fire. In keeping with our original mission, i went to go help the workers. Zaeed was not happy, as Vido could get away if we did not hurry. I managed to turn the sprinklers on and put out some of the fire, rescuing the workers. We then went after Vido and killed a bunch of his men sent to stop us, but Vido got away in a gunship.

Zaeed was angry and wanted to kill me, but a nearby explosion knocked a column onto him, pinning him down. I took the time to talk to Zaeed and told him that he was part of a team now and needed to play by team rules. He listened, reluctantly agreed with me, then I helped him up and out of there. Hopefully if we survive the suicide mission, we can track Vido down for a final time.

From the journal of David Shepard:

i took Jacob to the location of the distress call sent from the Hugo Gernsback, the ship his father served on. And apparently i also took with me a hard suit that played music every 5 - 10 minutes directly into my earpiece. Really annoying music. You know how people complain that modern music is always terrible compared to the music they grew up with? Well that music is the music good enough to make it on the radio. i got to listen to the truly crappy music.

The only thing worse than the music was what we discovered groundside. Seems the ship crashed and the captain was killed. Ronald Taylor was then promoted to acting captain. The local flora was also toxic and produced neural decay. At some point, the crew was forced to eat the toxic food while the officers repaired the ship. and then the officers decided they did not want to leave and let the crew suffer at their hands. Especially the women, who were forced into a kind of harem. it was horrible. And Ronald Taylor was the worst.

But the surviving crew were now fighting back, which forced Ronald to send out the distress call. We fought through the angry crew, and mechs sent out by Ronald before we finally found the loathsome man himself. He tried to pass it all off, but we knew better and called him out on it. Jacob was especially angry, and Ronald really regretted having to explain it to his son. We secured the crew and Ronald for transport for the Alliance, where the crew would get treatment and Ronald would just get prison.

i now have a really bad song stuck in my head on loop.

From the journal of David Shepard:

We went to Tuchanka to go rescue Maelon, a former associate of Mordin's that was captured by Blood Pack mercenaries. Mordin expressed regret that it was still daylight out so he would not get to see my armor glow in the dark. Glow in the dark armor? Really guys?

Anyway, the Urdnot chief scout pointed us in the right direction, to Weyrloc territory. The Weyrloc clan was not happy to see us, to say the least. And the speaker for clan Weyrloc stopped us at one point to launch into a long, boring speech about how the salarian that cured the genophage (that must be Maelon) would usher in a new Krogan empire, blah blah blah, i tuned out after that until he shouted "attack", which we did. Clan Weyrloc are not good fighters.

We finally found Maelon in a lab, only he had not been kidnapped, rather he went on his own free will. Unlike Mordin who defends the genophage, Maelon was upset at the results and wanted to find a cure. He seemed sane, but angry. We let him go, then destroyed his research and left.

i just turned the lights off in my cabin. My armor really does glow in the dark.

Threw the party on the Citadel, bawled at Farewell And Into The Inevitable, and dreamed that the crew weren't returning to the Normandy to launch the final assault on Cerberus, that had already happened.

Instead they flew off for further adventures, a galaxy of infinite possibilities awaiting them...  ^_^

William has been busy recruiting people. He had picked up Garrus (aka Archangel), a hyper Salarian scientist named Mordin, a giant baby Krogan named Grunt and a crazy biotic girl named Jack when TIM informed him of a colony called Horizon that had gone silent. And that his old crew mate Kaidan Alenko was on Horizon at the time. He took his tried and true crew, Miranda and Mordin, with him. Mordin was 'excited' to be testing his device for getting the swarms to ignore the group. One collector seemed to keep taking over other ones and trash talking William.

But after a hard slog they killed everyone in their way and got to the tower that controlled the giant guns that had recently been put in but that had targeting issues. While EDI was calibrating the guns, all heck broke loose eventually culminating in a fight with this huge spider like thing that involved a lot of running away and then shooting from cover and then running away again. The guns finally drove off the Collectors with, unfortunately, about a third of the colony on board. Happily, Kaidan survived but was really really po'ed that William was working for Cerberus. They didn't part well.

Afterwards TIM admitted to using Kaidan as bait for the Collectors, which did not inspire trust in William. But he did have some more people to recruit, most of whom were on Illium. Which just happens to be where Liara is....

Today I completed thessia. Kai leng defeat still felt contrived. Shep got back on the horse and went in search of Cerberus at sanctuary.
He arrived in time to help save his best gal's sister. Shep lulled her father into a false sense of security so Miranda could blow him out the window safely.

- Found out Jacob's father is a bad person. Left him with a gun and a bullet.

- Helped Kasumi get the greybox. She's fun. And I shot down another gunship.

- Flirted with Garrus a bit.

- Gave some parts to Ken and Gabby.

- Piloted some piece of crap called a Hammerhead around while trying to save us from a rogue VI.

- VI was rogue because it was a person

- Took person to Grissom Academy

- Got sex advice from Mordin. So. Awkward.

Nearly died playing in the Armax Arsenal Arena, some Fatal Error or something, but had Jacob, Grunt, and a whole ton of frag and lift grenades.

The good people at AAA were apologetic for putting Commander Shepard in harm's way for the sake of entertainment, and I presume ratings, so rewarded me with a choice of three Cerberus armors  <_<

Going to have take the one I picked to someone on the Citadel to be altered, I'm thinking an Edna Mode type  , since I'm not wearing Cerberus colours. Never been a fan of white and orange. Black, white and red all the way!  :D

Decided to start my John Shepard re-play since this time am going to keep Kaidan alive. Realized I had already started this replay 2 months back and can't remember what all I had completed. Spent the next 2 hours running around re-marking systems off the list.

Later went back to ME2 and replayed Overlord, since Aite is one of my favourite planets in the trilogy.

I know it sort of evokes Pandora and Mustafar, but it is still beautiful all the same, and the opening segment on the satellite dish reminds me of the ending to GoldenEye!

Good times with Garrus and Tali again, and still left shocked by the ending, and David's repeating "It All Seemed Harmless".

Bit of a long post. Fair warning.

From the journal of David Shepard:

Cerberus gave me intel about the Shadow Broker to give to Liara T'Soni. Liara was hunting the Shadow Broker, wanting to pay him back for taking her friend. I'm not sure what Cerberus gets out of it, but Liara is my friend.

So I went back to Illium to give Liara the intel. Before leaving the Normandy, I went to go put on my armor only find out that someone painted it pink with green striping. I checked my surveillance equipment but, lo and behold, all evidence of the culprit was mysteriously absent from surveillance. EDI insisted she did not have any knowledge of the tampering. I have my doubts about that.

I gave Liara the intel, and she discovered that her friend, Feron she said, was still alive. She was now excited about the possibility of a rescue mission. I told her I would help and she said to meet her at her apartment.

After some shopping, I went to her apartment, only to find it had turned into a crime scene, overseen by Tela Vasir, a fellow Spectre. Apparently Liara had been shot at by a sniper, then took off. After searching for some clues, we found data drive and Liara's location. Liara had headed for the Dracon Trade Center. Tela Vasir took us there in her skycar.

And as we exited the car, bombs went off on several floors. Vasir took the skycar to the top while I took my team, Garrus and Thane, through the building. It got strange when he found a victim dead of bullet wounds. Seems that someone was being thorough. That someone was the Shadow Broker's goon squad who was still looking for Liara apparently, alive or dead. I took them all out as I searched for Liara.

We met up with Vasir standing over a dead merc and a Salarian, Liara's contact. Then Liara entered, and accused Vasir of being behind the attack. Vasir denied it, but Liara pressed her on it and before Vasir confessed and the tried to kill us. I chased after, knocking her through a window, but she knocked me down and escaped. Liara chased after her while I dealt with more of her Shadow Broker goons.

Vasir managed to take off in a sky car, but I jumped in a taxi with Liara and Garrus (sorry Thane) and gave chase. Vasir tried to shake off our tail, but our car was faster, and after playing bumper cars, she crashed into the Azure Hotel parking lot. We were assaulted by more Shadow Broker goons in the parking lot, before finally catching up to Vasir who was bleeding and seemed pretty hurt. Vasir took a hostage and tried to talk me out of chasing her, but Liara biotically hit with a table (very impressive!), then it was Vasir versus me and my squad.

Vasir was hurt bad, she was extremely tough and refused to go down easy. After a hard-fought battle, she finally succumbed to her wounds and bled out, but not before telling me I was hyprocite about judging her for working with the Shadow Broker while I worked for Cerberus. Hard to disagree with her, but I never purposely killed innocent civilians just to meet my objective. Liara grabbed the intel from Vasir and used it to pinpoint the Shadow Broker's location.

We travelled to the Shadow Broker's location, which was on a ship designed to fly perpetually in a storm to make it hard to find. We landed on the ship and searched for a hatch. The Shadow Broker sent his personal goon squad after us, trying to kill us before we found a hatch. Needless to say, they did not survive.

We finally made it inside where the Shadow Broker desperately sent the last of his troops to try and stop us. They did not survive. We found Feron, alive but strapped to a chair plugged into the Shadow Broker's intel network; it shocked him occasionally. The Shadow Broker must have really hated this guy for betraying him.

We finally confronted the Shadow Broker: a giant alien from a species I had never seen before. Liara called it a 'Yahg' (never heard of them), a pre-spaceflight species (that might explain why I never heard of them). It got angry and threw its desk at us, knocking Thane out of the fight. No matter, my Combat Drone and I did just fine with only the occasional assistance from Liara. Seriously: MVP of the fight goes to my Combat Drone. Liara got the kill though with a sweet biotic maneuber where she pulled down the ceiling, electrocuding the Shadow Broker.

We reset the system, freeing Feron. Then all the Shadow Broker's contacts called in asking why they had gone offline and requested an update. Thinking quickly, Liara answered them, taking on the role as the new Shadow Broker. She promised to give me good intel.

I hope that intel includes the names of everyone who keeps messing with my armor.

I always wondered why Dr. Chakwas never gave me sex advice. It's more hilarious coming from Mordin.

Today I dealt with Daddy issues. AKA:

-Found Jacob's dumb father. Wish I wasn't doing a Paragon playthrough or else I would have let him have it.

-Took Tali to find her dumb father. When all he really was doing was trying to build her a home on Rannoch. Awww.

-Tried to flirt with Thane, but ran away scared. Found myself in the battery. Flirted with Garrus instead. It happens EVERY. TIME.

From the journal of David Shepard:

Today was a very productive day.

I stopped a ship from crashing into a planet. Then I saved a bunch of crates from YMIR mechs. Then I disrupted a Blood Pack weapons facility. I then played a reverse-prank on my crew by keeping my armor pink and green. Not really sure that reverse-prank worked; I still feel humiliated.

I thought about going to the Derelict Reaper, but I didn't feel like it tonight. Maybe tomorrow.

John Shepard landed on an Asteroid and stopped some Batarian's. Traveled around and cleared out some systems. was confused when he met Tombs. Apparently OUR squad would not want revenge or so John told him, yet they were not squad mates. Garrus has killed Dr. Saleon/Heart and found Wrex's family Armor. Just 4 more systems to clear and a trip to the citidel and he will be ready for Noveria and Virmire.

Shame there isn't a time trial achievement for ME1 and ME3, since it would sort of seem appropriate  :D

Went back to my save I made in ME1 at the start of Noveria to replay through one of my favourite missions in the trilogy. Decided to bring along Kaidan and Tali as opposed to my usual pairing of Liara and Garrus. Kaidan and Tali seem the ones who are the least tied into the events on Noveria, so I thought it would make a nice change.

I love Noveria as a setting, the contrast of Port Hanshan with Peak 15. And it's little self-contained plots and sidequests were awesome, I love the corporate intrigue at Port Hanshan, the ominous rumours about the incident at Peak 15, and of course the shootout at Synthetic Insights.

Seeing Peak 15 emerge out of the mountains always captivates me. Plus the atmosphere at Peak 15 is a personal highlight. Evocative of other sci-fi works, but stands out as unique in its own right as well.

Did Miranda's loyalty mission, forgot how easy it was. Also forgot I didn't have enough Paragon to resolve the cat fight between her and Jack. So.

Miranda and Grunt can say bye-bye in the suicide mission. :D

I also boarded the derelict reaper, but quit shortly afterward. So. Many. Damn. Husks. To tired to care.

Just started another ME3 playthrough. This Shepard, Barbara, will be a new game plus. Back in September, that playthrough was to see about getting the lowest possible ems. I ended up with 927 ems. In that playthrough I saved the fake rachni queen. That was the first time I ever did that. It won't happen again. This new game plus, I will get my ems above 3100. Easy.

- fight the uglies on Earth

- encountered Cerberus on Mars

- have to go to the archives to get plans that could lead to stopping the reapers

- hello TIM. Nice weather we're having, eh?

- the robot hurt Ashley. I shot the robot.

- hello Bailey. Hey you're a Commander too. How about that. I'm a Commander as well. Its a small galaxy
