@obliviousmiss YAY Grunt lived!
Yes, but it's a testament of how long it's been since I've played ME2 that I forgot the "perfect playthrough" rules. Don't do Miranda's loyalty until your paragon / renegade is full. Send Mordin back with the Normandy crew or take him with you to kill the reaper if you want him to live. Dammit, I hate accidentally killing Mordin.
I wanna play ME3 now. But I can't. We sold our PS3 when the PS4 came out (we were poor college students 3 years ago who had a baby,) so all the games went bye bye. .i had ME3 on the WiiU but I hated the port so much..... So much content was missing! Then we traded in our WiiU for an Xbox one when we heard Nintendo was working on the NX... Splatoon was about the only thing fun on it anyway! Then my husband got after me for renting ME2 from the PsNow streaming service that's a big ripoff, but I just had to play it. They don't have ME3, and I doubt my husband will understand me purchasing ME3 for a third time on our pc.
That was longer and more drawn out than I intended. Pardon me.

- You don't need to do Miranda's loyalty after filling up the Paragon/Renegade, specifically. It's either her or Jack. Besides, even with a balanced Paragade Shepard, you rack up the points needed very fast. In my last playthrough, neither of their loyalty missions were the last to be done. I think it was Jacob's.
- I always send Tali back with the survivors and I didn't take Mordin with me to face down the Terminator. I always take Miranda with me and this time I added Legion (only just fully realizing how awesome of a character, how balanced and logical he is ... but he doesn't say anything on that segment
). As long as you leave the heavy hitters like Grunt, Garrus and Zaaeed behind, everyone else will be fine.
The only time Mordin died for me was in my first playthrough when I took Grunt with me to the Terminator.

- As jails go, it's pretty nice though. More of a "modern chic" brig-type feel.
- Vega has to haul me somewhere
- Hey Anderson. Did you know I'm still in jail? Can't Hackett do something about this, since I did take the fall for his crazy, indoctrinated friend?
- Oh, the Reapers are here? I really have been telling you guys this for years.
- And here they are on Earth
- Shoot shoot shoot, there's a little kid, shoot shoot shoot
- Oh, so now I'm getting my ship back?
- Early war casualty is the kid. He won't be the last.
- Vega's giving me attitude about going to Mars. Whatever buddy. Take orders or go home.
- Geez, Kaidan. If I give you a ladder can you get off my back about Cerberus?
- It's possible that I've helped Liara become a cold-blooded killer.
- There's something off about this video footage of Dr. Eva Core
- Oh, she's the murderer
- I have a feeling that this isn't the last time I'll hear from TIM
- This crazy doctor is fast
- Dammit, Vega. That shuttle is expensive.
- Crap, Kaidan's hurt bad
- Time to head to the Citadel

Ooh, the Destiny Ascension!
"Why so touchy Joker?" - umm, how long have you even been on this ship, why are you suddenly all friendly for five minutes with my unprofessional, cocky git for a pilot? I guessed you did have a talk. (Virmire cannot come quick enough)
Well the Citadel Presidium is pretty. Udina needs to calm it down a bit. Boy do I miss Goyle. Ashley thinks aliens are no different to animals. Seriously why no option to just leave you behind?
The Citadel Council and their puppet master Saren wiped the floor with Udina/Anderson/Shepard at court. Wait, no just wipes the floor with them. No objections. Shepard needs an asari lawyer. But its ok cause Wrex! and Garrus!
Bye Ashley.
Now to confront Fist at the reputable and seedy Chora's Den.
Save the quarian, save the world.

From the journal of David Shepard:
Joker got me as close as we dared to get in Batarian space and then I took a shuttle to the Batarian prison. Breaking into the prison and finding Dr. Kenson was the easy part. Breaking back out of the prison was a lot harder. Kenson was not as experienced with combat as my squadmates so it took longer to take out a bunch of the Batarians and escape in a shuttle.
Once in the shuttle, Dr. Kenson told me about the project: seems she and her team had discovered a Reaper artifact that showed her visions of the Reapers arriving. There was a relay near by the asteroid they were working on called the Alpha Relay, and this relay could connect to all the relays in the galaxy. Kenson and her team were planning to slam the asteroid into the relay, preventing the Reapers from using the relay.
I had my concerns about the artifact, but Kenson assured me they knew what they were doing. Once at the project base, she showed me a countdown. In two days, the Reapers would arrive. That was not good. Then she showed me the artifact, just sitting out in the open unshielded. That was worse.
Then artifact showed me a vision of the Reapers arriving. That was bad. Then Kenson got angry at me, saying she could not let me stop the arrival, then she ordered the project staff to take me down. That was worse. I got really badly injured in the fight, and they took me to the medical bay.
I woke up in the medical bay, only for the attending staff to try shoot me again. I knocked two of them out, but the third staff member sealed me in the room. Luckily, I had access controls to some mechs and used them to shoot my way out. After listening to a datapad, I learned that they had kept me sedated over two days, and they had to keep upping the dosage. Not sure how I managed to break out of the sedatives but I assume it was due to the implants Cerberus gave me during Project Lazarus. I will have to thank Miranda for that later.
By this point the entire project staff was clearly indoctrinated and Kenson was the craziest fanatic of them all. I no longer felt bad about killing any of them I shot my way to the project control center, where I activated the fusion torches, setting the asteroid on a collision path with the asteroid. I tried to warn the Batarians on the nearby planet, but Kenson stopped the transmission to yell at me some more. I had to find Dr. Kenson and quickly.
Kenson then told me she was going to destroy the asteroid by putting the fusion reactor on meltdown, then ran away. Despite interference from the project staff, I managed to re-insert the cooling rods to prevent the meltdown. I then tried to talk Kenson down, but she refused to listen and blew herself up. I hurried to the landing pad outside, where the project staff was escaping. I killed as many as I could, then contacted the Normandy for extraction. Harbinger himself then talked to me through the communications relay, taunting me, telling me that my fighting was a futile effort. I essentially told him to stuff it and that I would find a way to win. The Normandy then picked me up and we beat a retreat through the relay before it was destroyed by the asteroid.
Later, Admiral Hackett himself came to see me. He thanked me for the effort and expressed regret that his old friend had been indoctrinated. He also told me the Batarians wanted retribution and that the Alliance was ready to put me on trial to placate the Batarians; they did not want to go to war while the Reapers were coming. Hackett did assure me that he would stall the Alliance for as long as he could.
The crew seemed relieved that I was still alive, and I was glad to see that Tali had recovered from her illness.
And someone dyed my hamster purple. Terrific.
Your crew worries me. . . . ![]()

Isn't it the same as on other difficulties?
My first playthrough was the only non-Insanity playthrough. I honestly have no idea if the Reaper fight on Rannoch is actually easier on non-Insanity difficulties. The game mechanics should be the same. Isn't the Reaper beam a one-hit kill regardless of difficulty? Or are you referring to something else?

Poor Chora, whoever she may be, her 'den' has been given the Shepard and Vakarian treatment.
Tali's no damsel in distress. Grenaded and shotgunned those assassins before Shepard could say "Normandy". Tali basically saves the day by giving the evidence Shepard needs. Shepard wins/was right all along, becomes Spectre, despite it bring Tali's evidence that sort of won the day. Anderson takes early retirement. Udina is all smug.
Now time to recruit Liara Croft.

- sat on the bench while the T'soni gave me a history lesson
- the best part of the lessen is we, including the T'soni, found out her goddess was a prothean. How cool is that? I wish I had popcorn
- fought the ponytail and his butter knife
- learn that the T'soni likes flying on Kai Leng Airlines
- went to Sanctuary
- found out Cerberus using humans to make husks. I'm a ruthless individual, but that's not cool
- so this is the father of the Miranda? What a wimp shielding himself behind a person.

You don't need to fill the meters either and filling the meters doesn't guarantee success. ME2 has an odd system that compares the points you have to the total points you could have received so far in your playthrough. This percentage needs to be above whatever threshold is set for the dialogue options to be available.

- Hey, Victus. You're the new Primarch and you have to come with us.
- Yes, Garrus, I still like you.
- Sorry, Kaidan. I like the bird.
- This meeting between the Salarians, Krogan, and Turians should go really well!
- This meeting went terribly. Dammit, Wrex, even I don't want to cure your people. Maybe there's a way to get around it...
- Got a female Krogan from Sur'Kesh. Why is Cerberus here?
- The female Krogan makes funny jokes about Wrex. I like her. Too bad she'll most likely die.
- The Turians planted a bomb on Tuchanka and now it's my job to save them.
- Sorry, Primarch, your son is dead. He died a hero. A stupid hero, but still a hero.
*No, seriously, I hate them. If there was a mod that removed them I would totally use it.

Jane Shepard (Adept) just completed Freedom's Progress. I tried recording some stuff for an ME2 Adept on Insanity Guide, but I might have to redo some of it. I hate doing commentary because I suck at commentary, especially without a script and I do not want to script this stuff. I prefer writing.
I tried doing live commentary on Freedom's Progress but I can't speak as fast as I think and I end up just going silent or saying stupid stuff to pass the time. I will probably have just do a voice-over on the completed video instead of live commentary. I don't know why I am doing this. I should just stick to video-only and cut the commentary out completely.
I did have one funny incident that I may share later.

Recruited/rescued Liara Croft from Therum.
(In the post-Therum briefing, I am always annoyed by how inconsistent Ashley is. First she sort of compliments Liara for looking young for her age, then snaps at her for expressing admiration at Shepard, a person who has just rescued her. I know this is all sort of supposed to tie in to a scene you can get if you romance Liara and/or Ashley, but I never romance either of them thus never getting the scene where I have to make a choice so I always dislike Ashley's immediate and inconsistent disliking of Liara. Plus its so tempting to go Renegade and say Joker is a jerk after Liara's comment about Joker's unprofessional and cocky joke. He's such a git sometimes
)
Now its time to go do some UNC missions and some of the quirky and fun side missions on the Citadel. Got my whole squad now, so can mix things up between them and try and get as many of the elevator conversations between them during my visits to the Citadel between UNC missions.

In the home stretch for ME2 now with some more Loyalty missions, IFF and other random missions then it's SM.
Sigh. I have to admit I'm kinda worried about moving to ME3. As I mentioned before, I played it through once and I enjoyed it (including the ending.) But, after experiencing the ending on my own, I went on the old Bioware forums years ago and saw everyone's complaints - which ended up coloring my view of it in a negative way. Extended Cut helped a bit I guess. Honestly, I really just wanted the game to end in the Citadel before you meet "you know who." I fully expected Sheperd to die in a heroic death, defeating the Reapers. Anyway, I'm a little worried I won't be able to enjoy ME3 as much this time. I think it has some cool parts but I'm resisting it for some reason. I'm sure part of it is because "it's the end."
Can anyone else identify with what I'm saying? If so, any pointers on how to enjoy ME3 more?

Maybe you shouldn't worry so much
Maybe you will like it again, and if not, you at least tried. Personally I still love the ending despite all the negativity, so maybe you can enjoy it again as well. Tackle it open-minded.
You could also take humourous squad mates to make the journey more fun if that's your thing. I did an Adept run with James and Javik and had a blast. Of course it's not fun non-stop as ME3 has a rather serious tone, but it's a start I guess. Maybe Liara/EDI and Javik could be fun too, I don't know. Javik is good at trolling in general ![]()
Or, if you have a favourite squad mate already, take this one to maximise dialogue.
Also, a lot of people still like ME3 for the combat, so if you enjoy this then it might not be as bad.

I picked Synthesis the first time too, but I tried out Destroy immediately afterwards. Liked it a lot more
I picked Destroy each time so far, but the next two Shepards after my current one will pick something else because it fits their character more. You could think about what suits your Shepard most and then pick the ending accordingly.
