Yesterday I finished up a trilogy playthrough (Katrina Shepard shot the red tube) and today I started up a new playthrough. Carmen Shepard will be my 'canon' Shepard and probably my last.

Oh, but. . . but. . . that sounds so sad :crying:

Fatima had to put on a dress...she HATES dresses. Found out who the mercs got their weapons from and went to see about that...Maya tagged along...Liara looked great. After some mingling(Hey, Shiara bae), bypassing various security checkpoints, and Liara suddenly acquiring a southern accent, Fatima found the guy who sold the gun....already dead. Well that bites. Hit redial on the com and some...body answered. Distorted their voice.

Got Edi on the drive and traced things back to the citadel archives where Fatima was confronted...by herself. A clone...just laying in the cut like a bandage. Fought through the archives with Kaidan and Wrex...got locked in a damn vault wherein Maya is revealed to be a fraud. Fatima was suspicious about her from the start but everything was happening so fast...

Glyph freed them(and the others)...took Garrus and Liara, by accident, to get the Normandy back cause new Fatima was trying to be...Fatima. Traynor's toothbrush is the real vip. Fought in the CIC(sweet!). new Fatima put Fatima's space hamster, Rio, in a dumpster and that just about tore it. They fought in the cargo bay...and by they I mean Maya, new Fatima, and those useless mercs. Beat the stuffing out of them all...Fatima even tried to save the clone but she...let go. Maya tried to escape...in the air...Fatima shot her...she was aiming for her leg...claimed turbulence...a likely story.

Everything is back to some sense of normalcy...and now maybe Fatima can take a real damn break...she's getting too old for this.

It's been awhile since I lasted posted in this thread but I'll be here over the next few months :D.

Okay today, I've got the chickenpox (at the nice age of 28 <_<) and this has given me time to start a trilogy run from the beginning (while I'm in quarantine ).

This trilogy run will be the last one before the Andromeda release and I'll go through my canon choices.

Shepard's name is John because I couldn't think of anything interesting and the default had to suffice. He has the 'colonist' background because of the tragic backstory of losing his friends and family to a slaver attack. He is also a 'sole survivor' because this adds more tragedy to his character and it shows Shepard can survive through the odds. The class chosen for this playthrough is an adept mainly due to my personal preference of throwing enemies over the rails :D. Shepard also knows how to use sniper rifles (through the bonus skill).

Appearance wise, Shepard is bald with scars. The playthrough will be on insanity (just because it's fun! ^_^)

Shepard began his journey on the Normandy where he chatted to get to know the crew. He told Jenkins to calm down and not rush into things . Jenkins told Shepard he would make a good SPECTRE because of his actions on Akuze. The events of Akuze are still a raw topic of discussion with Shepard at the moment. He said "he tries not to think about it". Shepard is off to investigate Eden Prime because there is a Prothean Beacon which needs recovering. Shepard is also been watched as a potential SPECTRE candidate.

Landed on Eden Prime and Jenkins died within the first few steps. Shepard avenged his death by angrily sniping the Geth drones. When they returned to Jenkins's body, there was nothing they could do. Shepard said Jenkins deserves a burial for giving the ultimate sacrifice in performing his duty. The craziness didn't stop here though, a few more steps and Shepard witnessed machines skewering humans. He came to the defence of a soldier named Ashley. Ashley is the only survivor in her squad as well. Shepard saved some doctors from husks and some farmers from Geth.

Disarmed the bombs, found the beacon and Saren escaped.

Shepard has had a lot to deal with in the past from what happened in the colonies, on Akuze and now the pressure of seeing strange visions. The next step was to go to the Citadel to reveal Saren's crimes to the Council. As soon as Shepard got to the Citadel, he stumbled into the Consort's office. He was not impressed with the consort and she was very touchy-feely for their first encounter  She gave him an unwanted hug so Shepard may have to sue Sha'ira later. Shepard decided not to take any more detours and went to the Council. The Council meeting didn't go too well when the only evidence you have is a 'dream'. Therefore, Shepard explored the Citadel to get more evidence. He had a chat with a Salarian called Chorban. Chorban wanted Shepard to scan some Keepers. Shepard didn't see the harm in helping out Chorban as more information about the mysterious Keepers would be a good thing (plus it gives easy experience :D).

Shepard asked Barla Von about Saren because an information broker should have some dirt on Saren. Shepard was sent on the run-around all over the Citadel where he recruited Wrex and Garrus. They were all on the way to find Fist where Emily Wong wanted Shepard to do her job for her. He said he would help her but he isn't too thrilled about doing it and he won't go out of his way to search for information for her.

Shepard, Garrus and Wrex found Fist and Wrex shot him.

They then saved the Quarian who handed over evidence of Saren's involvement with the Geth. This leads to the historic announcement of the First Human SPECTRE... it's Shepard! :)

(I know I go at a snail's pace )

First post in this thread.

Cmdr Jannisara Shepard stole the SR1 Normandy, went through the Mu relay to Ilos. Talked some sense into Saren, saved the council, killed Sovereign and saved the Galaxy!

Oh, forgot the stressrelease ;-).

Welcome back! Hope you're okay soon with the Chickenpox (good I already had them as a kid! :P).

Also, don't forget to save at Peak 15 once you're there. :D :D :D

I did not do much lately, besides crew talk and I next wanna head to Menae. However, my highlight so far was... I caught Space Hamster within half a minute! Woohoo!

Man, I need MEA to release. The trilogy really is starting to get old. Time for something new! Unfortunately, however, MEA will be a stand alone game for quite some time. One of the things that makes the trilogy have such a high replay value for me is how the choices in previous games change the outcomes in later games. That obviously will not be the case for MEA, at least until some sequels show up and assuming they have an import system similar to the original trilogy.

Did some dirty work for Aria on the Citadel. Almost had Oraka killed, he's lucky I was in a good mood. Took back an orbital cannon on Tuchanka and found an interesting artifact that may help with the war effort. Scanned some planets and found Anne Bryson.

Adept Shepard on insanity (It's a very short update though -_-)...

Shepard left the side-missions on the Citadel so there's a steady supply throughout the game. Shepard is now in charge of the Normandy and he gave an honest crew speech to let them know what they're getting into. The main objective is to stop Saren at any cost.

Shepard's first objective was to find Dr. T'soni because she may have a lead about her mother's whereabouts. The Geth were at the Dig Site as well and it was fun to run over Geth in the Mako at full speed :D. Shepard got to the part where he needed to exit the Mako and fight the Geth on foot. The battle wasn't going too well and Shepard made a tactical retreat to the Mako. This was when I mistakenly drove the Mako into the nearby molten lava! :pinched:.

This was the first death for this playthrough and the reload was right at the beginning of the map!!!

This will be my only attempt for today.

It's been a while...

I've recently just started playing BioShock and BioShock Infinite, after having been recommended it to me enough times to fill five lifetimes, and have been pretty much absorbed up in that for a while.

But, missing Kaidan, Liara, Garrus, Tali, EDI, James and Javik, I thought I'd take a quick return to the Armax Arsenal Arena for a few fights with my squaddies!!! And I replayed the Party mission again for the humour and awesome dialogue with all my favourite characters!

Back to Columbia now...

Yeeeeeeeah.... Mass Effect is a little stingy on the autosaves. I think we have all had a bad reload at least once. It really hammers home the importance of manually saving your game after every enemy encounter, just in case.

Especially since in ME1 you can have as many saves as you want. :D Unlike 2 and 3, where you have to keep over-writing old ones if you have more than 50. <_<

One of my cables is busted so everything red yellow brown etc is now the colour green. Earth looks like its been synthesised. So do Shepards scars. After suffering the analogue version of a hd game with colour i switched back to synthesis ME3 and have come to the conclusion I may actually enjoy this. The Rachni clone is dead Grunt lives and I have a synthesised Omega to take back from synthesised Cerberus. Looking forward to synthesised agitants.

Lorraine Shepard emerges from the ashes of Normandy SR-1 to find herself in a Cerberus lab. (Foot note: I cannot stomach ME1 so I just hacked up an ME2 save with ME1 decisions. LOL.)

Early in the escape, Jacob has already tasted a bit of her wrath.

A side note, it's so much fun to revisit Mass Effect 2!  I love this game! :D

Adept Shepard on insanity continued...

It's a new day to try and rescue Dr T'Soni :).

I appreciate all the replies about manually saving while progressing through the terrain but I decided to have one more attempt without saving. Shepard managed to get to the point of the climbing Geth hoppers at the Prothean ruins entrance. This is where Shepard was gunned down by sniper fire -_- and the reload was right at the beginning again .

So I did start manually saving on the way up. As soon as I started to do this, Shepard got through this Geth hopper fight with no problems and then the autosave was as soon as you enter the ruins <_<. Dr T'Soni was finally found and she activated a Prothean security device which ended up trapping her. Shepard released her by blasting through using a mining laser. The Prothean ruins started to crumble down and a Krogan was blocking the entrance. Shepard had no time to chat and ordered the crew to attack straight away. This battle went okay; Tali was useful in hacking the Geth units and Kaidan was useful in being unconscious (and Liara thought it would be best to cower in the middle of the elevator <_<). The ruins were destroyed. Shepard was then tasked on giving the Council the mission details but they weren't going to listen and the conversation was disconnected. This was a little immature but the Turian councillor is annoying :D.

Shepard then explored some planets using the Mako. There was a distress signal alongside a Thresher Maw. Shepard hates Thresher Maws and this resentment stems from what happened on Akuze. Shepard ordered his crew out of the Mako to engage the beast on foot. It worked this gave Shepard immense satisfaction and 400 xp :D

Shepard returned to the Citadel and Mikhailovich was the welcoming party. Shepard wasn't very persuasive when defending the Normandy's features. After this encounter, Shepard was interrogated further by Al Jilani. He saw through her attempted manipulation and stayed diplomatically calm. Hackett later said Shepard came away from the interview well and Al Jilani came away looking like a "raving idiot". Shepard also encouraged a preaching Hanar to move on and released Bhatia's body. Returned to the docking area where Shepard spoke with Talitha who told him what happened to her in the colony slaver attack. He convinced Talitha to take the sedative herself and then she will get the help she needs (this could've been Shepard if he was caught by these slavers).

Went to Major Kyle's compound and he was told his followers don't need to die to protect him. Major Kyle decided to give himself up.

Shepard travelled to Feros next.

Fatima spent some time with the squad...old and new. Threw a dope party and found out that Kasumi doesn't put up with milk's stupid drama...

It was of course more detailed than this but I was ready to take down Cerebus so I speed ran through chill time.

Landed on their base...Edi and Liara tagged along. Found that a good deal of the Cerebus troops we were fighting were the civilians from Sanctuary. Got damn it. Fatima fought through to the heart of the base and came across that old human proto-reaper from the Collector base. How Cerebus managed to salvage it, no one knows.

Got to the heart of the base to be greeted by a holo of the Illusive Man again. Fatima told him he was out of his rabbit ass mind and she was no longer rocking with him, if she ever truly did at all. Found out what the Catalyst is and Kai Loser showed up. Decimated him and those troops and the heaux tried to sneak Fatima...dumb move. "THAT was for Thane, you son of a b*tch!"

Whether Cerebus is an idea or not, they are no more at present. Reapers have moved the Citadel, which IS the Catalyst, to Earth. It's time to end this...for good. Welcome home, Fatima.

While the Normandy approached our next destination, I had some time to talk to the crew, and to welcome the new additions. Traynor and Cortez seem like great assets, plus Traynor's real cute. Oh, I also got my hamster back. I found him in Jack's old lair. Jack... I miss her.

Liara, James and I took the shuttle and landed on Palaven's largest moon, Menae. We talked with General Corinthus in a turian camp near our drop location. He told us that Primarch Fedorian had died earlier this day. Well, sh*t. In order to find the successor Corinthus would have to use the nearby, currently inoperable comm tower to reach Palaven Command. So we set out to deal with it and defeated some husks, while James did his best to repair the tower. Upon returning, my old bud Garrus was there! Man, was it good to see him alive. He joined my team, while Liara headed back to the Normandy... some trouble there according to Joker. Hope it's nothing serious.

We helped out the camp by defeating some Reaper forces, then we were on our way to the freshly determined primarch, a guy called Adrien Victus.

We eventually reached him, bunkered down in a camp overrun by more Reaper forces. He hesitantly accepted being the new primarch and boarded the Normandy with us, but not before I had to promise him to get krogan support to help Palaven. Not an easy task, but I'll do anything to save Earth.

When I approached the CIC, Joker told me that EDI was offline, some trouble in the AI core... oh what now... I went down there to see what's going on, and huh... EDI took over that bot we got from Mars. It's not exactly unpleasant to look at, but I hope this will be no trouble. I spoke with Garrus and the rest of the team, and then Traynor informed me I got an e-mail from Ash. She's actually up, that's great to hear and I'm relieved I can see her soon. Traynor also had mentioned there was something wrong at Grissom Academy... something with a fake signal similar to what the Illusive Man used for the Collector ship. Definitely worth checking out. If these Cerberus bastards are there I will kill them all, I take no more of the Illusive Man's crap.

We set course for a short stop at the Citadel and I'll meet with the war summit folks on the way to the Academy. If it is Cerberus at Grissom, I'd rather be there sooner than later...

Pictuuures:

Spoiler

When I went to see Garrus I thought of opening the door and seeing him and Tali later in the game. Then I realised that I killed off Tali in this playthrough... That is a weird feeling!

This is a common mistake people make about the story here, but also points to a stupid inconsistency in the story.

In ME2, it was the Collectors who sent out the fake distress call to lure in Shepard and the Normandy. TIM intercepted the distress call and passed it on to Shepard. What he didn't tell Shepard was that the distress call was a fake.

In ME3, it is Cerberus who sends out the fake call saying a Turian ship is investigating. But for some reason, Cerberus didn't bother using the secondary encryption, even though TIM, and supposedly the rest of Cerberus, knows about the secondary encryption system the Turians use.

I don't know why I wrote it that way  It's clear in ME2 he intercepted it, he even states it directly. Oh well.

So tonight I finished off this (spoilers!):

Spoiler

  • Thoroughly enjoyed that, well worth the money
  • Bioware could learn a thing or two about weapons and armour appearing not only consistent between cut scenes, but actually being used properly
  • I love that armour she has
  • My god but it doesn't half break your system gfx wise, looks amazing though
  • Seriously Bioware, THAT. BLOODY. HAIR

And that is now one less reason not to continue with the ME2 playthrough :P
