Entry 41: Cerberus sucks

That was a loooong rant. Although I could say the same about the hundreds of mercs in ME2.
And I believe Wrex have different dialogues during the standoff. If you sabotage cure with Eve still alive, he will say you kill his son.
You guys should read the whole series. It's awesome and it's on the entire ME series. His ending deconstruction was pretty good too, though it's likely nothing you haven't heard before.

The mercs don't matter though. They are just dudes to shoot. Cerberus is plot central.
Wow those are really great, now I have to read them all. Does Shamus post here?
In ME3, the only ones who are really Cerberus was the former ones in Gellix, and Miranda, and there's also Petrovsky, Kai Leng and TIM. Everyone else were just repurposed husks from innocent civilians and victims who was enslaved by Cerberus. Which is a nice touch and a lot less idiotic like the endless spawning variety of mercs in ME1 and ME2. I always thought it was funny that they ended up being among the first to join your fleet. Love you Aria.

I'm glad you like them and people are reading them. As far as I know, he does not. He has a lot on his plate. He writes, he is working on a game, and he does a Youtube show called Spoiler Warning. They do let's plays but dig into games a bit more than many. He and Chris from Errant Signal are great. The others are ok. People may or may not like the show. I find one of them mostly annoying but even he says smart things sometimes.

If you ignore the interrupt, he will mention Ashley's name if she is alive in ME3. Excellent.

Yah. Best "Shepard have no balls!" moment ever.
Adept Shepard on insanity...
Yesterday I tried to do the data module assignment again but ended up dying and the save point was at the beginning. So I tried a different assignment on the Luna base. Shepard managed to clear out the rogue VI in two of the bases. He then died in the third (I forgot to manual save and started at the beginning
)
Today was different though because I didn't die at all
. Probably because I upgraded the guns and armour.
Shepard went to the Luna base to put a stop to the rogue VI and this time he cleared out all three bases. Shepard is not an ordinary Adept any more but now an improved Nemesis. After achieving this new class improvement, Shepard travelled the galaxies to complete various assignments. The first being to prevent a biotic terrorist attack as some biotics made Chairman Burns a hostage. Shepard boarded the vessel and persuaded the biotics to keep Burns alive because the Chairman can help get them reparation money. The biotics surrendered. Shepard was unable to use his silver tongue on the local crime gangs though as they shot him on sight. Shepard annihilated all the criminals and he persuaded Helena Blake to walk away as well. Helena said she will disband the criminal syndicate.
Shepard also came across a survey team. They uncovered an artefact that changed them into husks. Shepard was forced to kill every husk in the mine. Shepard wished he could've deactivated the artefact somehow but he left the mine without doing anything
. (Where did this artefact go or was it the glowing white orb?)
Shepard came across another ship where a person was on life support. Shepard didn't turn the life support off because it wasn't his decision to make. Julia still attacked regardless and Jacob is now floating in the galaxy alone.
Helped Wrex get his family armour. Shepard took along Wrex and Liara to kill all the guards. When they got to the armour safe, no-one had any decryption skills
to get into the safe. Therefore, Shepard had to go back to the Normandy (to change companions) and then return.
Next up was a ship full of husks. The ship's crew found an artefact and changed them into husks. The Geth used this as a warning for any who got too close to the veil.
Helped Garrus with his Dr Heart problem. Shepard told Garrus to back down because Dr Heart should get proper justice. Dr Heart died anyway but Shepard told Garrus that you can't control everything but you can control how you react.
The Alliance lost one of their espionage probes and Shepard was tasked with the recovery mission. The probe was used in a trap and Shepard needed to be quick witted to disarm a bomb. Luckily, he had 300 Omni-gel which he used for the deactivation. He escaped the mine and took vengeance on the mercs outside.
Shepard then encountered some more Thorian creepers. He quickly dispatched these cretins by using the modified anti-thorian grenades and saved the scientists. The scientists offered to give Shepard money to keep their secret. Shepard didn't want to kill any more people so he took the bribe.
Shepard then got word about a more personal assignment. There are Cerberus scientists who worked on the project of Akuze. These scientists used Shepard's squad as bait to help with the scientist's research. Shepard went to investigate and he realised he wasn't a 'sole' survivor as another member of his squad survived as well. Shepard told Toombs he was better than getting revenge. Both the scientist and Toombs are still alive. This mission gave Shepard a little closure on what happened on Akuze but he still psychologically scarred from the experience.
Shepard then recovered the data module and escaped the Geth (finally!
)
Shepard then went to investigate Noveria with Liara and Wrex. They learned Benezia is currently visiting as well and Shepard wants to meet her. He had a chance to talk with the locals first. Shepard smuggled some items for Opold because he's a helpful person
. Shepard also helped an Asari spy on Binary Helix. The reason Shepard helped the Asari is Binary Helix is a shady corporation and their secrets should come to light (I think Binary Helix had connections to Saren but I can't remember). Shepard then persuade Qui'in to testify against Anoleis and got garage access.
Next stop will be the long trek to Peak 15.
Back into my Insanity playthrough with Frank. Shepard now navigates the murky waters of Turian-Krogan history while attempting to secure an alliance with both of them. Bullying the Dalatrass is always fun.

Frank and Wreav have their own disagreements during the Sur'Kesh operation.

And here he is facing a dying Cerberus Trooper trying to understand the randomness of Cerberus' presence in Sur'Kesh.

As usual, there seems to be no real reason for Cerberus to be there. The guy couldn't finish his sentence!
I do like shamus articles, but this mass effect series has enough material to fill a book. 40 parts and he hasn´t finished it yet?
Maybe by July I´m gonna take the time and read it. Normally I prefeer to wait till a series is completed in order to read it entirely in a very short time-frame.
Hell, it´s been months since smudboy started to cover DAI´s plot. It´s going to take me quite a while to watch it too. While sometimes I think he´s too much of a nitpicker and exaggerates small problems, for the most part I tend to agree with his criticisms.

They say earlier during a combat phase why they're there, they want to kill Eve. The reason is to shatter the possibility of an alliance, same as what they try with the bomb on Tuchanka.
Mass Effect 3 ( engineer using exclusively an Executioner pistol , too bad i can't use cryo ammo like in multiplayer...but i have cryo blast )
going full Paragon on Aria because she's so full of crap. (Omega DLC) .
Once the tycoonette is back on her barbie throne ,Mshep will have the Normandy overhauled .
And after he's sobered up he'll will move on to pull the Quarians out of their mess, again.
Some intel will bring him to investigate the Leviathan mystery .
I find doing all DLC's before Thessia is preferable because after it makes no sense to interrupt the buildup to the final move in London.

How do they even know about the alliance though? Who's leaking them information? Shepard can go straight from Menae to the Normandy to the diplomatic meeting....when is there time for Cerberus to learn anything, let alone plan any sort of attack?

There's a chick named Riley stuck in a fuel reactor full of Reapers that needs my help, perfect. With Ashley dead I could use a female human squaddy.
To be continued......
I hate that mission. Not only is it one of my least favorite maps (in MP too) but Shepard's team does all the work, saves Riley and crew's behinds (if you send someone) and she is the one who gets a commendation?
I never approve the fast track for it at the SPecTRe terminal because I am just that bitter. ![]()

I don´t know if it´s related to it, but originally there was going to be a cerberus agent inside the normandy, who would sabotage somo systems. No, this is not an April Fools joke of any sort. It was part of a mission (or a set of missions). Some data regarding it can still be found on the web, even though the content was discarded prior to the release.
And remember, Padok will say that the salarians do know about the suicide mission from ME2 if Mordin died. Salarians can spy on cerberus, cerberus can spy on salarians. Besides, there was some support for cerberus from outside groups after ME2 (since the council just sat and watched). You can see that even the volus embassador gave them support behind the scenes for a while.
It´s perfectly possible that cerberus had a mole in the salarian government.

I hate this mission too, but I believe it´s based on different motives. While the game bugs from time to time (nothing is perfect), this map had bugged during missions more than any other. Not to mention that this place (along with rio) seems to increase the probability of someone getting disconnected. I had all sorts of glitches and bugs on this map: Items being unable to be picked in order to complete mission objectives; enemies becoming trapped in unreachable places; dying, using medigel and becoming unable to move.

Lorraine Shepard goes off with Zaeed to finish off Vido Santiago. His charred body in Zorya was all that was left.

Then, she got drunk with the good doctor at medbay.

After passing out from all the alcohol, she decides to infiltrate into the merc's recruitment to get Archangel, only to bump to a spunky "GUY". Well, what do you know? The kid's got spirit!

Then she talks to Sgt. Cathka over the plan and gives him a good and helpful jolt.

After finding Archangel, she finds out he's her friend, Garrus!

The battle was rough though and Garrus took the hardest shots. Garrus was going to be OK though. Back in the Normandy, they found time to catch up and chat about Sidonis.

Afterwards, Jacob attempts to smooth things over with the commander.

In Omega, Aria's bodyguard tries to get Shepard to protect the Patriarch. It didn't quite pan out as Aria expected...

Now, Shepard goes into the quarantine area to find Mordin Solus...

and finds despicable looters to threaten.

Finally, she meets the professor who tasks her with the cure and save his assistant. Easy peasy.

Lorraine gets results and now she's in the Normandy for a little R&R before the next mission! ![]()
