Liara just doesn't take "no" for an answer.

I'm sort of re-playing my Renegade m!Shepard since I enjoyed his roleplay and story arc so much. The plan was not to romance anyone before ME3 since he eventually ends up with Kaidan BUT Liara had decided to sabotage this plan. I don't know what the heck happened.

When she asked him whether there was a mutual attraction, he answered with the bottom option: "Nope. Sorry. Not interested you in that way." She answers: "I see. I'll not bring it up any longer." Yet in their very next conversation, she starts explaining about the Asari sexual encounters, then states she's willing to do it with Shepard but is not ready yet. ("Wat? Didn't we agree to drop this already?") There was no option with outright rejection so I try to go with the most neutral one which was "I understand."

Then she appears to comfort him when Normandy is locked up. Shepard tries his hardest to make her leave. She shrugs it off. Then before the showdown she shows up in his cabin with all "Let's do this!" He's like: "You kidding me?" and throws her out.

I decided to ignore the whole mess and roleplayed it as Liara having some sort of humongous crush on him while he was desperately trying to avoid her. The whole thing actually became quite tragicomic.

But then comes ME2. He has her portray on his desk, acts all kissy kissy on Illium and I finally went "**** this!" and actually downloaded another person's ME1 save with all the same decisions I did (minus this little incident), then proceeded to pretend nothing happened.

.... goddamit Liara.

How do they even know about the alliance though? Who's leaking them information? Shepard can go straight from Menae to the Normandy to the diplomatic meeting....when is there time for Cerberus to learn anything, let alone plan any sort of attack?

I think geth47's answer about a possible mole is plausible. I mean, it's all speculation because as far as I know it's never really stated in the game, but we can assume something like that happens. At least that's what I do :D

I find doing all DLC's before Thessia is preferable because after it makes no sense to interrupt the buildup to the final move in London.

Last time I did Leviathan before heading to Thessia and I really liked it, but I leave Citadel DLC for last (I never play Omega ). For me the reason is that before the final assault on the Cerberus HQs and the final push, Normandy and crew should be in the best condition because a lot of it depends on them, plus TIM doesn't know that Shepard got the location and will stay put in his station.

So, some R&R for the crew, and maintenance for the Normandy. I really enjoyed it like that.

I never approve the fast track for it at the SPecTRe terminal because I am just that bitter. :P

That was hilarious to read

However, it's not really clear to me why Cerberus cares about a Turian Krogan alliance. Killing Eve would affect the alliance, but in the large picture, I think I'm not following why this is important to them. They just get the Citadel and control Reapers. That has nothing to do with Sur'Kesh.

Shepard wants help for Earth, but without the turian-krogan alliance this isn't happening, that's partially why Cerberus tries to stop this alliance. Since TIM is indoctrinated this is in line with what the Reapers want. If I remember correctly it was James and Javik who talk about the Reapers' tactics being divide and conquer, and that in Javik's cycle there was also something similar.

I think that the other reason for preventing an alliance is that TIM wants humanity on top, so an alliance would hurt his cause.

.... goddamit Liara.

I'm not quite sure, but I think some guys in here said some time ago that the Renegade option is buggy (someone correct me if I'm wrong as I did not get ninjamanced by her yet). Neutral answer is okay.

Frank Shepard goes to check out some rachni reporting and bumps into Grunt.  After sparing the queen, Grunt kills more Reapers and lives to tell about it!

Afterwards, Shepard touched down on Benning to kick Cerberus butt.

Picked up the dogtag of Osoba's son and delivered it to the grieving dad.  Also, brought Charr's recorded message to Ereba.  Kinda disappointing that this is how much they did for this ME2 minor sub-thread.

Yeah, according to wiki it's a thing.

Started ME3 (not today, mind you). Finished Earth, Mars, Palaven, Grissom and N7 mission available at that point.

That reused Council Chamber is so jarring with those ME3 models in a middle.

First thing I did after being able to explore the Normandy. Went to look for space hamster. Gotta keep my priorities straight.

Also got reminded how hilarious Shepard's expression is during one of the first talks with EDI.

Spoiler
The fact that Shepard takes a step back only adds to this

Well... ****. Suspected as much since I didn't think there were any clearer way to say "No" to her, yet she ignored it =P. I shall have to remember to pick the "Let's just be friends." option next time if I don't want to romance her.

I murdered a Reaper and I liked it. I have also just realised i cant romance anyone but Liara in this run. All other options are dead or rejected. So i guess it's Azure for Shepards final meal before the big dance. Breeding request accepted.

Yeah, Liara always gets the closeup with her big blue eyes and breathy voice but she comes off like a passive aggressive stalker sometimes.

Finished Sur'Kesh and N7 mission that unlocks after that. Which means I have 3 out of 4 pieces of my favourite armor. Dang, have to wait a bit for the last one. Met with anyone I could on the Citadel, got Aria her mercenary groups, saved hanar with Bau and Kasumi. Preparing to do Omega DLC.

I have way too many screenshots. Way too many. It's going to take me a month to sort them after finishing this pt. For now... Perfect "don't look into camera" shot.

Spoiler

This reminded me that I'm still sad about her eye color change. I liked ME1/vanilla ME2 better than that blue.

Adept Shepard on insanity...

Started at Port Hanshan where Shepard, Wrex and Liara got ambushed by Geth. This wasn't too much trouble because of the nearby stationary mako cannon. It turns out Benezia brought along the Geth with her. Wrex called Benezia an "Asari b*tch" when speaking to the head of security. He says this right in front of Liara (being tactful is not Wrex's strong point ). Shepard reached Peak 15 where he discovered an unidentified alien species and the power was out. He couldn't be bothered to solve the Mira tower puzzle so he used 100 Omni-gel to bypass the whole thing :D.

Shepard arrived at Rift Station because this was where Benezia went to. He created a cure for some toxic scientists. An Asari commando tried to block the entrance but was unsuccessful. Wrex called this Asari a b*tch as well (I get the feeling he's had enough of the Asari today ). Eventually, Liara had the opportunity to confront her mother. This was unsuccessful and her commandos attacked. This went surprisingly well as Shepard just biotically threw the commandos over the railings. Benezia tried to fight through the indoctrination and she gave Shepard information about the Mu Relay. She said Saren needs this Mu Relay to find the conduit. Benezia then died in front of Liara. Shepard then released the Rachni Queen because he doesn't want to be responsible for making the Rachni extinct. Wrex was already in a foul mood today and he wasn't too impressed with this decision either. Shepard then initiated the neutron purge to get rid of the corrupted Rachni. Shepard has the Mu Relay information and he left Noveria.

I was really lucky today because I didn't die and I only relied on the autosaves as well!  :D

Played some more Mass Effect 2 with Jane Shepard (Adept). This playthrough is taking me a lot longer than I thought it would have; a byproduct of trying to create a 'ME2 Insanity Adept' video guide I guess.

Anyway, post-Horizon, J fiddled around on Illium a bit, bought my third Biotic Damage upgrade (hello Biotic Cooldown upgrade), bought some star charts, helped Conrad Verner, Gianna Parsini, and Liara.

Then I shut down a Geth device that was affecting a planet's weather, but only so I could get my third Damage Protection upgrade so I could unlock the Hard Shields upgrade. I hate that mission otherwise.

Then I shut down a Blood Pack weapons facility and earned a Heavy Weapons Ammo upgrade which unlocked the M-920 Cain. That may or may not come in handy later.

Then I went to recruit Thane. I chucked a bunch of mercs to their death. I died a lot more times than I thought I would (which was frustrating).

Now I am trying to decide if I should recruit Tali. Normally I like to get to the Disabled Collector Ship as soon as possible so I can have my bonus weapon for more missions, I rarely use my bonus weapon as the Adept so I am thinking I should recruit Tali now to get the Tempest (my favorite SMG) plus a second Pistol Damage upgrade so I can unlock the AP Pistol upgrade so I can deal extra armor damage with pistols. Decisions, decisions...

Finally continued! Sur'Kesh went very smooth except the Atlas at the end. I died once and the second attempt was very close too -_- It took way too long to take it down for my taste, and I think I miiight should've used Squad Disruptor Ammo. EDI also was only specced into Incinerate, so it didn't do a whole lot on the Atlas shield  Once the shield was gone it went down very quick.

Liara, EDI and I fought off Cerberus troops, helping Mordin and the krogan female clear the checkpoints so they can reach the landing area. I have no idea how they know about the base, but it seems they want the krogan dead. They kept firing on the pod, so my team and I had to kill them fast in order to protect the female and Mordin. We eventually succeeded and the female was secured. She shot two arriving Cerberus mooks before boarding our shuttle, that was pretty badass.

I was furious about Cerberus though and tried to ask one of those a*sholes what the hell they want, but the guy died right in front of me.

We headed back to the Normandy and both Victus and Wrex had some updates. Victus told me about a turian ship that had gone down on Tuchanka. He said they were on an important mission regarding galactic peace... I wanted to know what exactly that meant, but he wouldn't tell me, only that his son is involved. Allright, we can check it out when we have dealt with Grissom.

Wrex told me something I couldn't quite believe... rumour has it it's possible the rachni have returned. How? I killed the last queen. Or maybe it was never really the last queen. Sh*t, that could mean trouble. We should definitely investigate.

While we headed for Grissom Academy, I talked to some of my crew and Mordin, it was good to have him back, even if it's under strange circumstances. We both destroyed Maelon's cure, and now it could help. I asked Mordin if we could get in touch with Maelon to help with reconstructing the data, but he said he already tried.

Mordin had named the krogan Eve as she was not revealing her real name. She was surprisingly charming for a krogan, maybe it's because she's a female. She showed a side of the krogan I have never seen before, and I couldn't help but feel respect for her when hearing about the things she had to go through in her past.

I also welcomed back Ken and Gabby, and then went down to the Shuttle Bay. Steve was in a bad place. He listened to a recording of his dead husband, and I felt terribly sorry for him. I can't imagine what this feels like. I told him I'm there for him, and I'm so pissed about the Collectors, the Reapers, and all that sh*t. Let's just hope we can actually stop them and make them pay for everything they're doing.

Lots of pics!

Spoiler

Also, I thought I'd share my latest addition in my James dialogue hunt, maybe some of you guys haven't seen it yet  :P It's only possible to get if Wrex is alive but the cure destroyed. It's not a lot, but I also found it interesting that Wrex's tone shifts so much during talks with Shepard. Once again this is a really nice touch in the BW dialogue variation department.

Frank Shepard goes to Tuchanka to cure the genophage!  The plan is to lure the Reaper away from the tower THEN cure the genophage!

Then... then... then, we'll give the Reaper flowers to make it leave Tuchanka!

Thanks for the shortened trip, James!  Thanks to you, now we get to WALK!

Turns out, Udina was just hanging around!

WVW69jFFK44O2JhYwG.jpeg

With Kaidan and the others trusting Shepard, I think Udina got his "Oh sh*t!" moment right there!

Commander Bailey came around to clean up the mess.  He sure healed up fast from the bullet wound!

Frank decided to enjoy the Citadel while it was still intact.  Also, he stopped Joker from trying to bang a machine.

But, he suddenly remembered that Thane was still in the hospital!

Frank let Kaidan back into the ship and then went to the briefing with Anderson and Hackett about the slimeball and Cerberus and the Crucible.

After stonewalling Traynor, Frank finished the day off with an interview with Allers.  Anyone hear whatever happened to Emily Wong?  Why is this IGN gal in her place?!

Jane Shepard (Adept) decided to head over to Haestrom and pick up Tali.

Okay, so she actually went to Haestrom to pick up a Heavy Pistol upgrade and 1250 XP, which ultimately netted her the AP Pistol upgrade and 2 levels which gave her Heavy Warp. And she also picked up an Assault Rifle Damage Upgrade which gave her the Assault Rifle Penetration upgrade. All in all, a really good haul.

And I suppose picking up Tali is okay too. Hi Tali.

I liked that Joker had a comment for each squadmember if you talked to him after a mission. For Tali, he just says he's always liked her and wants to move on.

I'd honestly forgotten how annoying some of the early combat is on the citadel dlc. Currently trying to get to the sky car lot but having problems using powers from behind cover. Getting overrun repeatedly and listening to the same section of audio over and over and over.......my kingdom for a single medigel.

Orrighty - this is serious. Shepard arrived at Bryson's apartment to talk to Ann having rescued her from reapers. They talked upstairs. They talked downstairs. They talked near the galaxy map and she offered to let Leviathan communicate through her. For the second time now, I have somehow missed the dialogue between Shepard and Vega about the husk head.

Anyone got any ideas? Should I not have kept clicking on Ann? It has always just happened before and I never took any notice of what I was doing. (Story of my life  ).

You can talk to Ann all the way until she waits by the husk head, then you should talk to James once. After that you have to wait a few seconds, then you can interact with him again and see the talk about the husk head :D Can you go back to your previous save?

I got out without saving so hopefully there was no auto save. Otherwise I'll be back on Namakli. I would rather that than saving the galaxy with the husk head. Boo and Husk are necessary. :D
