I'd honestly forgotten how annoying some of the early combat is on the citadel dlc. Currently trying to get to the sky car lot but having problems using powers from behind cover. Getting overrun repeatedly and listening to the same section of audio over and over and over.......my kingdom for a single medigel.

My kingdom for the actual Supressor in that segment instead of the replica Supressor they stick in your hands. I can live without medigel, but unless you are an Infiltrator that uses cloak (which is most Infiltrators), the fake Supressor craters your cooldowns. Kind of annoying how you play the whole game a certain way, and then BAM here is a gun you are forced to use that totally wrecks the playstyle you have been honing over the whole game.

Yeah, Liara always gets the closeup with her big blue eyes and breathy voice but she comes off like a passive aggressive stalker sometimes.

Not to mention how during the scene when she barged into Shepard's cabin, the music did this "dun dun dun dun dun" thing. Considering his reluctance it was starting to resemble a horror movie or something

I had plans... I was supposed to take back Omega... Then I realised that I want to have my chestplate for it... Cause, you know, screenshots... Totally valid reason. So I decided to go with main story.

After a few adventures on krogan homeworld (as ridiculous as it is, avoid-Reaper's-legs game is darn entertaining), time to get back to the Citadel. Salarian councilor wants something... Nothing is ever simple with salarians, so better prepare.

I made a friend.

Spoiler

Also. Sweet Maker, those dialogue choices with Kelly when she admits to sending TIM reports about Shepard :pinched: I admit, this was the first time I got this, since I never bothered to check on her after getting my fish back. Either way, back to dialogue choices... Most of the time I'm not bothered with removal of middle choice. But this time... This time I needed it so, so much. I reloaded at least 5 times, picking different option each time, because neither of them matched my Shep. Finally decided to go with paragon response, just spacebar'ed through it. If I got her to change her identity to keep her safe, then I'll keep her alive as long as I can.

I've done a LOT since I last posted in here. I'd forgotten how fast I sometimes breeze through ME2...DLC included.

Abridged version: Tsombe recruited Zaeed, Garrus, Mordin, Grunt, Jack, and Samara, thus far. Finished Miranda's loyalty mission already...Tsombe needs her second in command to have her head on straight. I don't know why but I took my time with that mission and it was more emotional playing through it this time. I'm still a thug.

Tsombe doesn't trust Samara...yet. She still doesn't buy that whomever that criminal is that she's chasing is just some random person...she is far too passionate about catching them. She respects her, however, and for now that may be enough.

Everyone's loyalty mission has popped up practically but she still needs to recruit Tali and Thane. Not sure in what order yet. Tsombe also shut down a...what's that company...Hahne Kedar...them...idiots had an infected VI that successfully infected a ship...and eventually killed them. Ended up traveling to the Capek system to shut down their mechanics facility.

Tsombe of course reunited with Liara...it...didn't go well. She didn't ask Liara to come along with them...she didn't even ask her how she was doing...just got the info about Samara. They were both playing it cool...but Tsombe knows...underneath it all...they're both a mess.

Adept Shepard on insanity...

Hackett wanted Shepard to deal with various Geth outposts so he set out to prevent these machines taking over the system. He took along his Geth expert (Tali) and her hacking ability is the reason why the outposts were taken so smoothly. Shepard found some Geth data files and gave Tali some copies to show his appreciation on stopping the Geth. She said she'll return to the Migrant Fleet with this data after confronting Saren.

Hackett (the taskmaster) had another mission for Shepard which involved biotic fanatics taking over a medical facility. The problem was the fanatics drugged the research staff and they got in the way of Shepard's biotics. There was 2 civilian losses and Shepard is disappointed with this outcome as he wanted to save everyone.

Started Virmire and Shepard rendezvoused with the Salarians and the plan was to infiltrate Saren's research facility and destroy it. Saren is breeding Krogan and trying to find a cure for the Genophage. Shepard doesn't want to fight an army of Krogan while facing Saren so it's best to nip it in the bud now. Wrex didn't want to destroy the base when there's a Genophage cure on the table and he pointed a gun at Shepard. Shepard managed to persuade Wrex to stand-down by saying these Krogan are Saren's puppets. Before putting their plan into motion, Shepard sent Ashley with the Salarian team. While Shepard was running through the facility, he met an Asari who worked on the Genophage cure. He let Rana escape because he doesn't want to kill someone in cold blood and she did allow access to Saren's lab. Shepard found another beacon and had another vision. He didn't have time to decipher the meaning because soon after he was taking to something beyond his comprehension :P. The nuclear bomb was brought on the base (am I the only one who thinks this bomb looked like a ladybird  nevermind). Kaidan was going to prepare the bomb but more Geth showed up to complicate things. Shepard needed the bomb to explode so he returned to help Kaidan and consequently Ashley died. Shepard finally came to face Saren himself. This encounter was short-lived as Saren escaped on his hover-board. On the Normandy, Kaidan and Shepard were talking about Ashley's sacrifice and Liara interrupted to say she wants to join minds again (where's the sympathy Liara ). Liara said we need to go to Ilos. Kirrahe survived the events of Virmire.

Back on the Citadel, the Council said they will finally do something but not where it counted on Ilos. Udina thought this was the perfect time to ground the Normandy. Shepard went to Anderson and he broke into Citadel Control to override the lockdown. So Anderson became a criminal as he was trespasser :P and he was shot by a Salarian. Shepard managed to escape the Citadel and he headed to Ilos.

On Ilos, Shepard spoke with Vigil and told him Saren's going to try and activate the Citadel relay to start the Reaper invasion. Saren will use the conduit to access the Citadel with his Geth army. Shepard used the conduit which led to the Citadel and he confronted Saren. Shepard used his words to try and speak to the 'real' Saren as opposed to the indoctrinated one. Saren battled through this indoctrination and decided to take himself out rather than become a Sovereign thrall. Shepard ordered Joker and the human fleet to focus all their firepower on Sovereign. The Council sent out a distress signal to the Normandy but they had been disconnected for the final time. Tali made sure Saren was dead by shooting him in the face but Sovereign soon after reanimated his corpse. Sovereign was taken down and Shepard said Udina should be the Human Council member. Shepard knows he has only delayed the Reapers and he still needs to prepare for the invasion.

So this is the first part of the trilogy done :)

I got killed a few times today: by a sniper hopper, by a Geth destroyer charging, Geth Prime gun fire and a rocket to the face.

Well, just the other day me and my buds blew up this giant collector base that was buried out in some deep space junk yard.  Liara started a new job so I stopped by and saw her new digs. Pretty cool.   And right away some reapers started knocking at the back door, so I blew it up.  I guess the Alliance didn't like that I wasted a bunch of people (Hanar? no, maybe Batarians, like 30,000 more or less.  Garrus and his ruthless calculus of war.  HAH.)  and they asked me to stop by Earth to check in.

So I did the paragon thing and showed up to say Hey!  Wazzzzuppp?   and guess what.  They arrested me!  I mean, I was totally justified.  I stopped the Reapers,  sort of.    Anyway, Vancouver is really looking run down these days.    I'm outta there,  maybe a quick stop at Mars.

I have started my walkthrough yesterday as an Infiltrator female Shepard. Today I sabotaged the cure because Wrex and Eve are dead. I also bought the Thermal Pipes Adams wanted me to but when I went down to the Engineering level, Ken was somewhere inside the ship's body and they were in an argument about EDI's being the ship itself or not. I couldn't support Ken cause he wasn't anywhere to be seen   :)

Well, that escalated quickly. Cerberus attacking the Citadel, Thane dead, some strange ninja-guy, Udina's dead. At least Kaidan's back. Time to deal with coup's aftermath.

Spoiler
Conrad...

After three years, back on Eden Prime. (Tried it with all companions - like VS with me the best.) Prothean artifact turned out to be more alive that initially expected. Maybe we gained another friend?

Spoiler
Nevermind.

Time had come to finally meet with quarians. It didn't go as planned. War with the geth... Dammit. I'm not dealing with this while sober... *some time later* Better. Trip to quarians' home system wasn't peaceful at all. No one expected that after hearing all reports. Not at all. After getting shot at, Joker had to be... well... Joker.

Spoiler
Well, Legion's back. With bad news...

Preparing for an assault on Reaper base. Geth fighter squadrons causing trouble and Zaal'Korris in trouble. Wonderful. After dealing with geth fighter squadrons first...

Spoiler
... Zaal'Koris was saved. (Armax Arsenal chestplate aquired. Yeah!)

Okay, becoming friends with this guy may actually be good idea.

Spoiler
Protheans knew how to party.

Next is Rannoch. This is going to be fun.

I literally haven't left Armax arena for two days. I think I have a problem.

That's gonna be my problem as well once I reach it.

Adept Shepard on insanity...

Started ME2 today, Shepard is still an Adept but this time I've chosen the bonus power of Warp Ammo.

So what's Shepard been up to since defeating Sovereign? Fighting Geth remnants <_< Surely he could've been doing something more productive but no he was sent away like a dirty little secret. The Normandy got attacked by an unknown ship and Joker's stubbornness caused Shepard to die <_<. Shepard awoke up and was immediately under attack by machines. He wandered down a few corridors and met Jacob. Jacob brags about his biotic abilities but Shepard's not impressed because he's a biotic too. Two years have passed since Shepard stopped Sovereign and Project Lazarus rebuilt him. Jacob revealed he's with Cerberus. Shepard remembered what Cerberus were doing in the past but decided to give them a chance because they brought him back from the dead. Shepard then had a chat with the Illusive Man who said that human colonists were disappearing.

Shepard needed to investigate Freedom's Progress to get a lead in the disappearances. Once he landed on the colony, there were no survivors to be seen apart from a group of Quarians. One of the Quarians was Tali and Shepard proved his identity by telling her he helped her obtain the Geth data files for her pilgrimage. Shepard found a Quarian survivor of the colony attack. He told Shepard what he knew and then he was allowed to leave with Tali because he's been through enough trauma. Reported back to the Illusive Man and he revealed a pilot who could help. It was Joker. I wish Shepard had a line to mention that his death was Joker's fault. Joker then tells Shepard "I saw you get spaced" (the smug little b*stard, yes because of you!). I used to like Joker but now I'm getting to the dislike stage . Shepard took the new Normandy out for a spin.

Went to Omega to recruit the scientist. Shepard ran into the mercenary Zaeed as soon as he walked on Omega. Shepard was hopeful that all the recruits were as simple as this. He then met Helena Blake who said she's now a retired social worker on Omega.

Shepard then got poisoned in a nightclub so he had to go back to confront the bartender. He caused a commotion at the bar and a Turian took the bartender out. Shepard's tour of Omega didn't stop here though as he found a Quarian running a store. He helped Kenn out by paying his way off Omega to help him with his pilgrimage (his store still charges Shepard even though there is no one tending the shop <_<). Searched for Mordin in the plague zone and Shepard threatened some looters. Shepard's the only one in these parts allowed to loot anything :P. Mordin was found and he wants help with curing the plague. Shepard found Daniel and dispensed the cure via the giant fans. Mordin joined the crew.

Shepard went to the Citadel and met Kasumi so that's squad mate number 3 joined. Shepard then endorsed Citadel Souvenirs as his favourite store. He chose this store because they sold him a space hamster :). Shepard won't endorse any other stores but he will try and get discounts by other means. At the weapon store, the seller wasn't friendly to humans but Shepard mentioned the Council dying and Sovereign blew through the Turian fleet with ease. This insulting remark managed to anger the Turian enough to offer a discount. Al Jilani then wanted an exclusive interview and she mentioned the Council deaths. Shepard wasn't going to be lured into the debate so he calmly told her why he did what needed to be done. Shepard then visited Anderson on the Presidium. Anderson said he can't reinstate his Spectre status.

The next stop will be to investigate project overlord.

Lots and lots. This is over the space of two evenings, wrapped up the Thessia mission, finished off all those N7 ones, did Sanctuary, Miranda survived, played Omega, resolved the Quarian/Geth issue. Scanned all the systems for artifacts/credits/war assists etc and exhausted as much squad dialogue as I can so far. Now I'm in the middle of the Leviathan dlc, I'm gonna leave the Citadel DLC which I have never played yet till after that and then hit the Illusive Man's base. It's been years since I played this trilogy. I've enjoyed it but I'm not looking forward to those endings again.

oh, I guess I should include mine. I played ME3MP, the highlight of which was two rounds using a melee QFI to punch and backhand my way through toasters and space nazis to two 50 melee kill medals. After my internet went all potato, I played through the combat section of Citadel DLC, and brought EDI to fight the clone for the first time. It was humorous enough even though I usually dislike that character. Tali also got some dialouge I'd never heard, then pumped some buckshot into that fleeing traitor Brooks and spouted a one liner.

Adept Shepard on insanity...

Started Project Overlord because he needs to investigate a Cerberus base overrun by machines (Shepard has a feeling of deja vu because this happened when he was resurrected from the grave). The first Shepard death for this ME2 playthrough was when a Geth Destroyer barbecued Shepard with a flamethrower. This happened twice :pinched:. This Cerberus facility was tasked with trying to influence and control the Geth using the human mind. Shepard fought through the machines and found David hooked up to a torture device. Shepard gave Gavin a nose bleed by using a paragon pistol whip. David's suffering has stopped and he's been sent to Grissom Academy. I still love the Overlord music theme.

Returned to Omega for Archangel. Shepard did some sabotage work as he sauntered through the mercenary groups. He sabotaged the heavy mech and had a shocking experience with Cathka :P. Shepard was also shocked to find that Archangel was actually Garrus. It's nice to see Shepard's words of wisdom in Mass Effect 1 had affected Garrus. Specifically, the not taking the law into your own hands part  <_<. Shepard got killed again by a Pyro Vorcha (I'm not having the best luck against flamethrowers today ). Garrus got blasted in the face with a gunship missile. He's now on the crew.

On the Normandy, Shepard shared a brandy with Chakwas and toasted to being drunk.

Went to recruit Okeer and this mission gave Shepard memories of Virmire. Jedore wants an army of Krogan (just like Saren did). The shipyard had it's own labs where Genophage experiments were carried out. Shepard ran into Rana again and she's still devoted to her Genophage research. The labs were used to try and make the Krogan strong in spite of the Genophage. Rana went on her way again. Shepard had a chat with Okeer who later died to save his tank. Shepard recovered the tank and activated it on the Normandy. He activated the pod because it's better to deal with the unknown now rather than later. So now Grunt is on the team as well.

Shepard then went on a prison ship, caused a prison riot and recruited Jack.

The Illusive Man told Shepard to investigate Horizon. When the crew arrived, the Collectors were in the process of harvesting the colony. It turns out the Collectors are working for the Reapers. Shepard got the defence towers online which drove the Collector Ship away. Shepard had a brief chat with Kaidan and left the colony.

Shepard's a biotic master now and his abilities have evolved to the point of Nemesis again.

The next stop will be to recruit Tali.

I think now I'm more or less at the same point as you RedCaesar97 :D (Hopefully, I'll overtake you tomorrow and win the race )

6:30am Kai Leng fight on insanity. He hasn't hit me once yet I just run him around in a circle while draining his shields. Been killed three times by more worthy opponents though. Mostly Phantoms. Miranda died didn't know I still had that kind of power over her. She may survive the next play through. Or maybe not.

Final kill count will be: Kaiden, Wrex, Legion, Mordin, Thane, Miranda, Anderson.

Tonight, Emma finally did this:

Spoiler

  • I think my feelings about this mission can best be summed up by this:

  • This mission really does nothing for me. Gameplay wise it is refreshing as being one where you don't have to kill anyone (renegade interrupt at the end notwithstanding, and there is some interesting scenes (the interrogation and the way it plays out for example, and the daft stealth section), but -
  • Thane. i just really don't care for his character. I just don't find him interesting. What makes it worse is his motivation for this mission - reconnecting with his son before he dies - really rings hollow. Throughout the mission we find out that he is closer to mouse (who he threatens!) than his own son. Kolyat even points out he was a terrible father and never around (ignoring the fact of course that he is a contract killer, but hey what does that matter). Suddenly now he is dying he wants to reconnect and, what - make himself feel better? What about the previous years he didn't give a ****? If i was Kolyat I'd tell him to ****** right off. But then Kolyat becoming a (bad) assassin makes no sense anyway. Why would he become one - following in his absence father's footsteps (who he resents!) makes no logical sense either
  • I understand Thane is supposed to be some dark, broody troubled character but he really leaves me cold. I usually forget he is on the ship - the less said about his supposed role on the suicide mission the better
  • All of the Renegade choices in this mission are better (save the Mouse discussion) than the Paragon. This is especially true in the interrogation scene - the fact I had to wait until the end for a neutral 'I'm a Spectre' option to resolve it rather than, oh I don't know Shep, maybe pointing that out at the start! - where the renegade option is not only quicker, but more importantly more in character and funny
  • Shep is a hypocrite. She has a go at Bailey for doing deals with a criminal -Elias - then goes and makes him do exactly the same thing with Thane / Kolyat
  • Also, surely Paragon Shep should turn Thane in for being a galactic criminal?
  • Bailey hints at something dark in his past regarding a son - shame this is never explored or expanded upon
  • It's nice to explore / see other parts of the Citadel - shame we cannot actually explore the area
