Well technically, I didn't do that today, I did one part on Wednesday and the 2nd yesterday And it was only one mission... but an important one for my Shep!
Together with Liara and EDI I went to Grissom Academy at last. With the help of Kahlee Sanders we docked and once inside, we got rid of a few Cerberus clowns and then talked to Kahlee in person about the situation. I hope we can get all students out.
Kahlee directed us towards Orion Hall, where some students were trapped, and when we arrived a big surprise waited for me. Jack... What is she doing here? She's with the students?! I couldn't really talk to her because more Cerberus troops kept us busy first. We dealt with them, and with the last one dead I looked at Jack, happy to see her pretty face. It was so good to finally see her again. I couldn't wait to hug her, to kiss her, but things didn't quite go the way I had planned. She first punched me in the face for leaving her. Ouch, she's a strong one... But then I got my kiss, and it felt as if we were never apart.
During these couple months where we didn't see each other, Jack had taken a teacher job here at Grissom, and I was really proud of her. She found something she obviously loves, and the kids like her too. I love to see her like that. Happy, caring about others.
Unfortunately we couldn't talk long, we needed to get the kids out of here. The sooner the better. Liara, EDI and I fought our way directly through the atrium, while Jack and the students hit Cerberus hard from above.
After some more fighting we eventually were able to reach the shuttles and got the kids out safely. I f*cking hate having to leave Jack again, but she'll do some good in the war with her students, helping out with barriers. At least I got another kiss, and I really can't wait to have a bit of shore leave and show her how much I missed her.
We said our goodbyes and the Normandy set course to the Citadel. I had gotten an e-mail from Ash, she had accepted Udina's offer. Wow. She's a Spectre now, huh? I can't wait to talk to her again in the hospital.
Spoiler
Oh biotic explosions, why are you so much fun?
Well, explosions are generally nice.
I need to try out some more weapons. I like the Avenger, but I think more damage would be nice
Jack doing her thing.
Still took some time for the Atlas, but at least I didn't die
Cleaning up the rest.
Reunion with Jack
That lovely sound when your shield goes...
F*cker crept up on me! I probably should've dealt with the Guardians sooner, heh.
Approaching my second last run in which everyone will die. Just need to finish the Catalyst stuff. I honestly can't stand doing it anymore and I'm considering ending my final plays with the Normandy on the beam run.
The final battle for earth still does it for me, except the following:
All fighters on me! (All of them!?)
No other fleets report, except the Quarians.
Lack of Assets.
On my order prepare to fire! (half second later) FIRE!
Steeeve!
Still tossing up the beam ending thing. I'll know by the time I launch the missiles I guess.
Well I just completed my first complete run through. I did it in story mode so I salute all you insanity players. But I had fun. I am now starting my second run through so I can get my level 50 Samantha Shepard up to level 60. I also want to correct some mistakes (?) i made in the first run through. I didn't save Cpt. Kahahee (although I think you get a few more war assets if you don't). Anyway I had a fun time. I didn't do any multigame, but with the DLC's I had a little over 4200 effective war assets. I cured the genophage and saved the Rachni queen, the geth and the quarians. I lost Mordin, Legion and Thane, but I saved everyone else.
Anyway I do owe many thanks to everyone who helped this old duffer in a most enjoyable game.

In your next playthrough, have Mordin live.
Here's how
Spoiler
Either kill Wrex on Virmire or don't recruit him. Have Mordin delete Maelon's data during his loyalty mission. Do not reveal to Eve about the dalatross wanting you to sabotage the genophage. When facing Mordin at the shroud, choose the bottom right dialogue. It will lead to choosing the red or blue dialogue on the left that will convince Mordin not to cure the genophage. After choosing whatever ending, he will be seen in a slide. If by chance you choose to have Mordin die during the suicide mission, his replacement, Padok Wiks, will show up and he can survive. Another way to have Mordin live, is to play a default ME3 playthrough. Just have to make sure your reputation is high enough to get the blue and red dialogue options that will convince Mordin to sabotage the cure.
Got an idea for my upcoming Adept playthrough and have recorded Mars mission.
My character is Halona Shepard - a colonist of Native American descent (Halona means "Of happy fortune") and a hero of Skyllian Blitz.
She can easily cast powers that take other biotics decades to perfect - Singularity and Shockwave, capable of destroying whole groups of enemies without breaking a sweat.
Did the mirror match for the first time in the Armax Arsenal Arena.
I was like:
"A mirror match ey? So I'll be encountering myself and my squadmates? Cool."
*enemies spawn*
"Wait... what? There's a Shepard called Engineer and there's another one called Soldier and that... oh HELL NO!"
*stunlocked to death*
I did manage to beat it on my third try. Looking forward to try this on Insanity.
Some classes have an easier time than others. I had the easiest time with Sentinel and Vanguard, and Infiltrator I did okay although I had some trouble early; Sniper infiltrator will probably have an easier time the Shotgun Infiltrator I used. I had to end up cheesing it with Soldier and Adept to beat it, and I had really hard time with the Engineer before I got lucky,
Travelled to Haestrom to rescue Tali. She's on the planet to research the sun but her squad came under fire from the Geth. Shepard lent a helping hand and Kal Reeger managed to stay alive in the Colossus fight. Tali transferred the data to the Migrant Fleet and joined Shepard's crew.
Shepard went to Illium to finish the dossiers. He saw a lot of old faces on the trading floor. The Rachni Queen delivered a message through another Asari. The message said she appreciated what Shepard did on Noveria and she suspects the Rachni War was started through Reaper influence. Shepard then met Parasini and she wanted him to do her job yet again . Shepard wasn't going to help this slacker anymore so he warned the merchant that she was being watched. That will teach Parasini to do her own work from now on . Met Conrad Verner next and Shepard threatened the weapons merchant to say Conrad did a great job. It's a small universe after all because he also met Shiala on Illium as well. Shiala said Zhu's Hope was recovering but they need help again because of the colonists health problems. Shepard negotiated an amendment to the contract which will help the colony further. Shiala appreciated the help and flirted with Shepard. He wasn't interested though because he's not into regurgitated Asari. Shepard met Liara and she gave him a hug. Tali and Garrus were there as well but she didn't even speak with them (I guess she wasn't too fond of them ).
Went to find the Asari justicar next. She was found at a crime scene where she was in the process of breaking a mercenary's neck. She wasn't going to leave Illium until she knew where a fugitive went to. Shepard fought his way through the Eclipse sisters and killed the Volus killer in the process. He also met the infamous biotic god but he had to be shoved out of the way to face the merc leader. Samara was given the ship name she was looking for and she left Illium. Before leaving, Shepard snitched on Pitne For's smuggling .
Shepard returned to the Normandy only to return to Illium immediately after because he needs to find the assassin. He fought through more mercenaries (pushed one mercenary through a window) and found the assassin after he killed Nassana. Thane's part of the crew as well.
Well I finally recorded some narration for my ME2 Insanity Adept video guide that I have been putting off for about a week. Which explains why I have not been playing my Adept playthrough this whole week (because I do not want to fall further behind).
I have one more narration to record, then I can resume my Adept playthrough either tonight or tomorrow... and then probably put it off for another week because I would have 2-3 more videos to narrate. Ugh. I hate the sound of my own voice and I am really regretting starting a video guide. I knew it was a bad idea and I should never have started it, much less continued it. I blame fraggle for convincing me to continue the series. I know I could have used my better judgement and said no more guide, but I am a complete idiot.
I knew it was a bad idea and I should never have started it, much less continued it. I blame fraggle for convincing me to continue the series.
It's no one's but your own fault I said you should decide, hehe. But I still like what you've done so far, so yay me!
Again though, please do not force yourself to continue if you don't like doing it.
I just finished playing around with some weapons. I played through Grissom again with Level 5 Vindicator and Raptor and I really liked it! But then I tried out the Mattock, and damn, that's quite an awesome weapon. So I think it'll replace the Vindicator for now. I guess the slower cooldown also can't hurt, I feel like it's a bit more balanced now, using both weapons and powers more or less equally instead of the constant power spam fest, even though I love that too of course
I don't like how the Viper plays in ME3... it was one of my favourite weapons in ME2. But the Raptor feels good. It's light and fast, so I look forward to using it some more.
On a side note, does Slam glitch sometimes? When I detonate Liara's Singularity with it, I see and hear the explosion, but from time to time it doesn't do any damage.
Taking back Rannoch turned out to be more than simply blowing up Reaper base. Being attacked by actual Reapers while on the ground seems to turn into strange norm. At least at the end of the day we got nice explosions.
Spoiler
Featuring back view on now complete Armax Arsenal set. Yeah!
In all this mess Legion was lost. Let's hope peace between quarians and geth can last.
While being on the Normandy Wrex mentioned Aralakh Company... and rumors about the Rachni. Seeing them in person on Tuchanka only added credibility to it. Better check it out.
After landing it turned out that my adopted son Grunt was also there.
Spoiler
Ah, yes. Hug. Of course.
Rumors were true. Rachni. And the Queen. Things got complicated fast. In the end Queen was saved and somehow Grunt went out of all that alive.
Spoiler
*teary eyes* My baby is all grown up.
Ardat-Yakshi. Wonderful. Why those missions can't involve... I don't know... collecting flowers?
Another unexpected meeting. Samara came to check on her daughters. Unfortunately only one survived. After stopping Samara from doing something really stupid...
Spoiler
I tripped, sorry.
She and Falere decided to talk. Better leave them alone for now.
Another distress call. This time from... Ex-Cerberus? Worth checking out.
This is conspiracy, isn't it? I mean... Jacob this time?
Spoiler
*whispers to Kaidan* Shhhh... He doesn't know... Let him live in the illusion...
Well, we picked additional scientists and kicked Cerberus' ass. I call it good day.
One can't ignore Aria's invitation forever. After sending everyone on shore leave, it was time to meet with her. Her plan to retake Omega was... dicey... but who am I to judge? Most of my plans are dicey. Somehow we made it to Omega and got help from one of the gangs, Talons. Petrovsky tried to stop us, but to no avail.
Spoiler
Impressive.
In the end Aria's back in charge. And I made batarian friend.
Spoiler
Who would have thought.
With Dr. Bryson we were supposes to talk about Leviathan. That meeting didn't go as planned. Shouldn't be surprised. From now on we should start planning things to go "not as planned". Then they would go as planned... But then that wouldn't match the plan... Gah! Nevermind.
EDI helped to look for clues.
Spoiler
Well, well. Look what I found.
Everything led to one man - Garneau. Who we found dead. In creepy mine. Where people were controlled for a decade. Good we're the Normandy's crew. We're used to creepy things. Leads in the mine and Dr. Bryson's lab pointed to another person - his daugher. Of course Reapers were there as well. Getting her out alive was a bit problematic, especially after discovering she might be under Leviathan's control. But later it turned out to be our way to locate it. After overcoming certain obstacles, we got its support.
Spoiler
Well...Sh*t.
One step closer. After asari councilor finally decided to inform us about ruins on Thessia, we were one step closer to finishing the Crucible. We were so close...
Spoiler
The answers were right there...
But Cerberus decided to crush the party. Dammit.
No time to waste! Following Traynor's lead we hit Sanctuary. Refuge turned out to be horror camp.
Spoiler
Who looks at all this and thinks it's okay?!
Miranda's father was the one in charge of that "project". Of course Miranda was there as well. Fortunately she made it out alive. And she had a gift for us - tracer placed on Kai Leng. After everything Tali decided to polish her skills in using straws emergency induction ports.
Spoiler
My "Ah" is perfectly fine.
While preparing for attack on Cerberus HQ, we got new orders - shore leave. Getting apartment from Anderson was a nice start. But then jumpy lady Brooks came with a warning - someone wanted me dead. And then they tried. Of course they did. After falling through the fishtank, fighting mercs with only small pistol and my own powers, I witnessed true krogan rescue.
Spoiler
Spectacular.
Mercs didn't want to give up, so Wrex's rescue attempt was followed by explosions.
Spoiler
Explosions? Please, you try to scare me with that?
Liara's analysis of merc gun pointed at certain arms dealer. After crushing his little casino party and learning he was killed, we exchanged a few words with real culprit.
Spoiler
Yes, yes. Try harder.
While gathering more leads Glyph warned us about the use of Spectre codes. Then... Well... Not every day you learn about your clone. And she didn't come looking for hug. Fighting through the Archives proved that mercs had chosen wrong Shepard.
Spoiler
You're speaking the truth, Kaidan.
With time both team Mako and team Hammerhead went silent. We had traitor in our ranks. Jumpy Brooks turned out to be more than just jumpy. Clone tried to imitate me without success.
Spoiler
That moment when you stare down your clone because she just can't say it right.
Thanks to Glyph and Traynor we made it in time to the Normandy before she took off. Wrex was more than happy about the fight in CIC. But the clone wasn't there. Time to go to the cargo bay.
Spoiler
*quitely chuckles while listening to this exchange*
Finally after "talking some sense" into the clone, the Normandy was with us again.
Spoiler
This......is......surprisingly......satisfying.
Time to get back to shore leave.
Spoiler
Little did I know that this single sentence was the end of me...
*sigh* Only Armax Arena, meetings, party... Then Cronos and Earth... I'm going to cry at the end. I'm so friggin attached to this Shepard. This is not my first replay of her, but damn, I always cry during certain moments.

Well, I just finished the Disabled Collector Ship with Jane Shepard (Adept). I went with Assault Rifles as my bonus weapon, not that it matters much since I rarely use the bonus weapon on the Adept.
Hopefully if I can get my act together I can put together a 'bonus weapon' video for my Adept Insanity Guide series by tonight. Once a few people -- all 10 of the people who actually watch the series; fraggle and 9 bots -- maybe they will convince me to change my bonus weapon? Who knows?
Plus a video on different Adept strategies for the platforms section. Plus another video on the rest of the mission. Plus I want to put videos out of the same thing on my Basic Adept series which is pretty much the entire playthrough but without my commentary.
And this is why I am going so slowly through this playthrough. AAAAAAAAAAHHHHH! Why do I do this to myself? NO ONE CARES!
Frank Shepard and the Normandy crew deal with the aftermath of the Citadel coup. The confrontation with Udina and Kaidan got tense, but Shepard made it clear nobody was bigger than the mission.
While at the Citadel, Frank secured supplies for the campaign while also dealing with the human-loving ambassador Din Korlack. The Volus bombing fleet was an easy choice over saving turians. Frank needs every help for the war. Balak made a brief appearance but he couldn't gun down Frank.
Frank meets with the Quarian fleet over their support in the war against the Reapers. Just like any BioWare game, it's never as simple as getting it with no strings attached.
Before Frank could focus on helping them however, some unfinished business in Tuchanka needed to be resolved.
Since everything was green anyway i chose synthesis. This way I get the Krogan "Overcoming poverty and disease." slides. Without curing the Genophage.
My son: So good guys and bad guys become friends?
Me: Yes.
Son: Shepards dead?.......
Me: No....
Son: Good, is mass effect 4 coming?
May have kicked myself here.
Chose to end all future runs at best seats in the house.
The part of the game I thought was the ending in my first run. "Why is everyone complaining! This is beauti....oh. There's more...."
Shepard is dead with Synthesis.
I agree on the final scene with Anderson and Shepard. While it was strange to have it be more father/child than had been established previously, I still liked it a lot. It actually fit with my Earthbound Shepard.
I'm not telling him that was the point and now he thinks he's back in part4.
For the record he watched the blast wave not Shepard committing suicide. But he did watch the Catalyst and after listening to him tried to tell me to pick control.
I worry for him.
As for a new update I have recruited all crew and killed Ms Dantius. Doing some stuff for Chorban and blowing holes in the walls around the wards.

How old is he?
Its just a new character, son. Shepard had kids and got old and fat like everyone else does.
OT: He's only 8 but he's gifted so I give him some rope on occasion. Nothing like Mordin or Lee Everitt, that would trigger his anxieties and he'd cry his little heart out. But he makes me call him in for cut scenes with Garrus or Grunt (KROGAN!).

Nice. Have you let him see Grunt fighting Rachni in ME3? I bet he'd love that. I sure did.
I replayed ME2 recently with my broshep. I wanted to be a hard ass, but still a nice guy that still helps people. I wasn't cool with the fact that the game treated me like a murdering psycho. I hit on Samara and said that many of my actions would cause her to be violent to me if she wasn't sworn to me. Yet, I helped everyone I came across.
And this run made me also experiment with classes a bit more. I also discovered Sentinel and Vanguard are my favorite classes above all. And that Miranda is ridiculously good as a squadmate in ME2. This run in general endeared me more to Miranda and I really like her as a character. And her romance is great.

I never save Wiks as I feel his religion should make him impossible to convince otherwise even with Eve dead and Wreav in charge. So, he always eats a bullet.
