Did the mirror match for the first time in the Armax Arsenal Arena.
I was like: "A mirror match ey? So I'll be encountering myself and my squadmates? Cool." *enemies spawn* "Wait... what? There's a Shepard called Engineer and there's another one called Soldier and that... oh HELL NO!" *stunlocked to death*
I did manage to beat it on my third try. Looking forward to try this on Insanity.
I could only manage it on normal difficulty for my first try. I had to switch to Normal on that mission Then I started nailing it on Insanity too. But not all classes are suitable for it. With some classes it's much easier. I have finished Omega and Leviathan Dlcs and now I can go to Thessia. But I don't have much time so I think I'm gonna play some multiplayer.
- Garrus wants revenge. Okay Garrus, we'll see how this goes. - An advertisement at the Citadel talks to me. I sigh but go with it. - Recruit a thief. Yes, I felt silly talking to an advertisement. - Sounds like I have to get fancy at some point to help her. I sigh again. I just want to shoot stuff. - Help out a Quarian who did not steal a credit chit. - Lied to a Krogan about fish being in the lakes. - Oh, Fade is Harkin? That son of a ******. - I wing Harkin until C-Sec can get to him. - Garrus and I find Sedonis. - I want to hear Sedonis's side. Garrus wouldn't shoot me, right? - Sedonis wasn't out for revenge. - I talk Garrus down. - He's not happy about it. - Back on board and he thanks me for not killing Sedonis. Yeah, I'm usually right. - The Illusive Man tells me about a Collector Ship - We head to it to get information. - This is a creepy place. - Oh, it's the same Collector Ship that fired on the Normandy? Now I'm even more suspicious. - This ship is huge. - And the Collectors are modified Protheans. Didn't see that coming. - Of course it's a trap. - Still make it out alive. - Yell at the Illusive Man. I'd really like to not be a hologram and punch him in the face. - EDI found some useful intel. - I got distracted by Miranda and almost missed that the Omega 4 Relay leads to the galactic core. - We'll get that IFF later. - Time to head to Tuchanka to see what's wrong with Grunt.
Finished my replay with my Vanguard m!Shep... in a bit... unplanned way.
He's a 4/5 Renegade. Dead set on destroying every last one of these damn Reapers. So... here comes the Starbrat... and he really feels like pistol whipping the thing but, alas, no such opportunity is given. The stupid AI finally shuts up but instead of dragging his ass over to the panel with the nice red hue (like the last time), Shepard goes "Lol, here's what I think of you and your self-fulfilling prophecy!" and shoots two bullets through the Starbrat's head. Well, it throws a little "So be it!" fit and BAM: we lost and everyone died. The end.
I honestly had no idea the Rejection ending also happens if you decide to shoot the Catalyst . Whoops. Oh well.

Stormed the Cerberus HQ and then finished the game again. This time I opted to become an evil space god, since it was my first true renegade playthrough and all I wanted was to rule over everything with an iron fist.
Anyone know how to keep Jack alive during the suicide mission if she's not loyal? #AskingForAFriend
Keep the strongest squadmates with her during Hold the Line, Garrus, Grunt, Zaeed. Last time I finished the SM with a nonloyal Legion, who survived as well
For the final fight against the Human Reaper, Tali, Mordin or Kasumi are good here because they are worth the least amount of points when the others hold the line (also Mordin and Kasumi are good choices against Collectors). Tali could be sent back with the crew (if alive), and Mordin and Kasumi go to the final fight. Just don't take Jack there, nonloyal members die
Finished the Citadel Dlc. The solo part and the clone fight were the easiest this time with an Infiltrator having the Energy Drain as the bonus power. Even though I tried to keep my armor and my weapon mods at low stats to make the game more challenging, I didn't even die once on this dlc. Of course, on Insanity (as always)and I only use the sniper rifle.
A quick question. What is the real benefit of playing a tech class in ME2? Its seems like anything with biotics is better (vanguard, sentinel, adept). I don't think there are tech explosions in ME2, and the only biotic and tech combinations I've found is cryo then throw/heavy throw. Cryo and slam is cool too. And I know you can do things like pull field and incinerate. But in general it seems like biotic classes are better.
And unless I am wrong, Engineer seems very dull in ME2. Which is odd because its awesome outside of the painfully bad heavy melee.

Engineer happens to be my favorite class. Dull/Fun is a matter of preference; for example, some people find the Soldier boring while others only like to play as a Soldier. As I heard someone say: There are no boring classes, only boring playstyles.
Engineer has Overload and Incinerate; with Area Overload and Incineration Blast (Area Incinerate), he can strip the shields and armor off of groups of clustered enemies. Combine this with Mordin's Cryo Blast which at rank 4 (Full or Deep Cryo Blast) has a 4.5 second base cooldown, which means it gets the same cooldown as Engineer Shepard's Overload and Incinerate with Demolisher/Mechanic (-20% cooldown), so you can strip > Mordin freeze clusters of enemies.
Combat Drone is probably the best distraction/crowd-control power in the game. Also, AI Hacking is awesome on synthetic-heavy missions.
I have a few examples from my own video recordings.
1. Engineer + Mordin + Samara = no shots fired (except the Eezo Core) on the Derelict Reaper.
Part 1:
Spoiler
Part 2:

2. Here is me trying to show off the Engineer with Mordin. I am using Overload + Area Reave for all protection stripping, but you can get away with Overload + Incinerate for just armor and shields which is what I did on my first Engineer playthrough.
Some links may not work. I updated the list here and here.
In the end, if you do not like the Engineer or Tech powers in general, that is fine. Not everyone likes every class and it all comes down to what you find fun in this game.

Thanks RedCaeser. I'm really interested in checking out those videos, but it will have to wait until tomorrow. But that's why I ask. I've been playing the ME series for a while and only a few months ago have I learned how to use detonations in ME3. And I'm trying to get the hang of them in ME2. And I think it was me that made Engineer boring if I'm being honest. I'll take a look at the videos to see if I'd like to test out those classes sometime.

I know it's not the most popular opinion, but I really liked Engineer in ME1, hacking is so much fun! You have quite a few opportunities in ME2 for that as well, and the Drone is amazing in ME2. In ME3 I liked Cryo Blasting enemies and then explode them with Incinerate, I had a lot of fun with that. Hope you'll enjoy this class in your next try
The last 3 days I made a little progress, it's still going much slower than I want... at least I only have the 3 DLCs for Dragon Age Inquisition left and then I can fully concentrate on ME3 again
While being on the Citadel, I caught up with Miranda, talked to Cortez, who had actually taken my advice, and then visited Ash again. I'm happy for her, becoming a Spectre. She deserves it.
Oh, I ran into Matriarch Aethyta again, nice getting a drink from her. I learned she’s actually Liara’s father. And somehow she thought Liara and I are more than just friends. What, just because I like girls and flirting? Of course I went to Liara to talk her into meeting with her dad.
I did some things for Aria, dealt with Blood Pack and Eclipse mercs. I also had a chat with Kelly, I mean... Felicia. She took my advice and changed her name and also looks. A little different than before, but I like it.
Then we set course for Tuchanka to check out that turian platoon the primarch had mentioned earlier and Cortez set us down way away from the crash site.
Liara, EDI and I headed towards the platoon's location, which Lieutenant Victus had signaled us when we arrived. We had to deal with a few of these big creeps, the same I saw on Menae, and we managed to rescue some turians on the way.
Eventually we arrived and saw the platoon had lost faith in their leader, blaming him for their little crash situation. Victus mentioned the mission they didn't complete yet, and boy is it an important one. There's a bomb on Tuchanka, and Cerberus has gotten their hands on it... That's just great. Victus Jr. was reluctant to continue the mission, and I snapped. He needed just a little inspiration to motivate his men. It worked and I agreed to try and go with them in order to help deal with this f*cking mess.
Upon returning to the Normandy, Mordin had the cure ready and also an idea to spread it. Nice, but first we'll have to deal with this bomb.

How adorable is Mordin?
What's wrong, Shepard? Not enough in your glass?
Dealing with Blood Pack stuff.
He just can't lay it off
Gaining the Eclipse mercs.
Never gets old
Shepard exploding his way through.
Die, Harvesters!
Didn't get the third one
Killing baddies. The Mattock is pretty neat.
That's when the fun started... I totally should've sent the squaddies to a different position. Oh well.
Mordin's song.
I can’t believe I’ve missed Mordin’s song about the krogan queen until now… It’s hilarious
Also, daaamn that last part for the platoon mission this time. So much trouble when the Harvester showed up, I think I never had my squaddies go down so many times

Yeah, there are no tech combos in ME2. Biotic combos only became a thing in ME2.
in ME2, powers are mostly either for defense stripping or crowd control, with some overlap and exceptions.
And again, if you do not like the Engineer or tech powers in general, that's okay because not everyone likes the same things.
Engineer happens to be my favorite class. Dull/Fun is a matter of preference; for example, some people find the Soldier boring while others only like to play as a Soldier. As I heard someone say: There are no boring classes, only boring playstyles.
Engineer and Infiltrator are my favorite classes too. I only played as soldier once and that was with a male Shepard whereas my main Shepard is female. But I grew to like the Concussive Shot in the MP and Adrenaline Rush recently; I may try the Soldier class with my femShep later. I agree with the part that there are no boring classes. I can even find the soldier class fun to play after I play with it some time.
I threw the party today without Kasumi, Zaeed, Miranda, Tali and Wrex cause they were dead. Saluting match with Grunt was fun, even without Wrex "I don't remember much after I ate the lamp." I really love Grunt
Those videos were impressive to watch. Its amazes me that I am still learning quite a bit about the series. Just as an FYI, I have only been playing the series for a year so far. I spent far too much time playing the series as Gears of War 3 with some powers thrown in here and there.
Personally, those videos struck me as fun to watch, but not a way I would enjoy playing personally. It was impressive to watch you own everything on insanity though. I love tech classes and explosions. ME3 engineer was super fun to me, so I'll give it a shot in ME2. I played as Engineer for one of my femshep runs in ME1 and I liked it quite a bit. But I have a new found love for all things Cryo. I was like "omg kewl" when I froze someone in ME2, used heavy throw, he hit the wall and shattered. Similarly, I froze someone, made Miranda slam the target and a similarly satisfying result occurred. Don't judge me, I know I suck for discovering this so late.
And in ME3, I just love freezing people and causing tech explosions. I concur that the shattering effect is awesome. This was my face when I froze someone with cryo, did slam, exploded them and the resulting explosion froze nearby enemies:
What's funny is I always thought cryo was useless and incidieary ammo/powers were way better. That's what's great about this series. Not only is the story telling great, but there is so much experimentation in the game play as well.

That is so true. There's just way too much to discover!
On our shuttle ride to the bomb location, Lieutenant Victus told me that the bomb is not truly a Cerberus bomb, but of turian origin. F*ck. Well, not that I can't understand, but if that thing were to explode, all our work so far for this damn alliance was for nothing.
Steve set Liara, EDI and me down with the shuttle, kinda in the middle of chaos. We fought through the first Cerberus troops and Victus contacted me about the plan for the bomb, reprogramming the trigger mechanism. Sounds easy enough. I just hope we'll get there in time.
After fighting a couple more of these goons, I saw the bomb right before me. Damn, that's a huge thing. We hurried and killed the remaining Cerberus soldiers on our way, then we finally met up with Victus. Cerberus didn't give us pause though, so we went to take them on while Victus handled the bomb.
Cerberus really wanted to detonate that thing, they even dropped another Atlas on us. After the fight we returned to Victus, but he had trouble as Cerberus had hacked the trigger mechanism. In the end, he separated the trigger from the bomb by climbing on it, that mad turian.
He died in the process... How will I tell his dad? Damnit.
Back on the Normandy, the primarch and Wrex were at each others' throats about the bomb, but I made clear that we have a common enemy and need to focus on that. They saw reason, and now the next step is to cure the genophage. I still have doubts how this will work out in the future, but... well, we have no choice. If we don't defeat the Reapers, there won't even be a time to worry about that kind of thing.
Liara said she wanted to see me and I invited her up into my cabin. She showed me a time capsule she was working on, just in case...
She put a lot of information in there and I think it's a good idea. She even had one entry of me and wanted my opinion about it. Well, Liara knows me good enough, so I just let her decide. I enjoyed sitting there with her, just talking. But we still have a lot of work to do.

Flying high!
Oh, these damn Engineers
That's why I hate them!
Nah, Cerberus is going up in flames!
Ha, thought you could escape?
Oh, I just love Liara's Singularity and Concussive Shot
Ugh, that time when I desperately needed cover and rolled around like an idiot not finding a decent one
Cronos Station was full of surprised. Logs about Lazarus Project, about EDI, remains of the Human-Reaper, information about the Catalyst. At least there was a chance to "talk" with Kai Leng.
Spoiler
Dammit, I hope omni-blade is back in MEA.
To protect the Citadel, the Reapers moved it to Sol system. That decided the stage of final attack. After getting all fleets to Earth, crawling through Reaper ground forces and mad run to the beam that led to the Citadel... We won.
Spoiler
In my canon there's nothing between those two scenes
I'll not speak about endings. It's better this way. But there're two other (small) things I want to say:
- I really like the change in Javik between his awakening and his goodbye scene. How he's the one to extend his hand to you, when at the beginning he didn't even bother to shake yours when you offered it.
- And I just love that moment when Destiny Ascension arrives. I know it's almost the same with or without it, but dunno. Something about it being Destiny Ascension, not random asari ship, makes it wonderful.
Now I'm waiting for my Mass Effect Library Edition Vol.1 and Vol.2 to arrive. I think I'm the most excited about Homeworlds I bet I'll have a mighty need to replay ME again after reading them (if I don't start new pt earlier). In a meantime I can sort out my ME3 screenshots *looks at screenshot folder with not-so-hidden terror*
