For those of you that like to laugh at other people's misfortune -- or at least, like to see other people fail at video games -- here is compilation video of all the times I had to reload my game when playing the Lair of the Shadow Broker DLC as Jane Shepard (Adept):
Spoiler
These kinds of videos are time-consuming to put together, but I think they are important for the following reasons:
I do not want people to think I am a better player than I really am. Video editing can hide a lot of mistakes. I get to highlight those mistakes in these compilation videos.
It can be cathartic for other people to see that they are not the only ones to suck at video games sometimes. (Or in my case, all the time.)
I hope you enjoy it.
For a cover-based shooter, you spend a lot of time standing around in the open. Is that on purpose, to up the difficulty or something?
Kicking myself because I completed Kahoku's quest to investigate Cerberus before I remembered to ask him about Banes. Anderson must really be out of the loop if he wasn't aware that Kahoku died :/. Good thing I'm not a completionist or I'd be starting the whole game over!
Heh, I love doing that. The first time I did it I didn't have the codes, and I thought I might get away with it.
You know, it also really fits the slightly campy, old-tv-show feel of the first game. ME2 shifted into a more "serious" action tone. I use quotes because of how dumb the main plot was but, like I said, I'm talking about tone. I don't think that shift can be dismissed when comparing the games and things that might not make sense or be plot holes or be silly.
My disappointment in my inability to get my Shepard looking anywhere close to how I wanted her to look became so great that I finished Tuchanka and started a new playthrough. (And this is my weakness with ME. Once I start ME3 I'm immediately planning out a new Shepard.)
Meet Elodie, the rare blonde Shepard and my uber Paragon Spacer War Hero. She will save the Rachni queen, talk Wrex down, destroy the Collector base, and cure the genophage. And she's quite a stickler for protocol, so no funny business with that Kaidan fellow. And her hair will undoubtedly look better in ME2 and ME3 because I have a ) the Gibbed save editor and b ) a headmorph to import.

Not really. I just know that I can spend most of my time in the Azure parking lot, fighting Tela Vasir, and fighting the Shadow Broker outside of cover more than taking cover as long as I hit my powers at the right time. I actually do spend most of the game taking cover.
Picked up Tali Zorah and caught enemies both disappearing and reappearing. First with the Geth drones.
Then, I couldn't figure out where this damn pyro was hiding (everytime I killed the colossus he'd show up and get me.) so I rushed up ahead to see before I died.
Sure enough he disappears and then reappears after you kill the colossus. The annoying part was having the checkpoint before the dialogue with Reegar.
I get why but its still stupid.

Well, now I remember why I like Engineer in ME2 more than in ME3.
Anyway. After suddenly deciding that I want different hairstyle, I recreated Sallie the Engineer. Then survived-slash-not-survived attack on the Normandy, escaped Lazarus Station, investigated Freedom's Progress, recruited Kasumi, completed her loyalty mission (data destroyed) and then went to do that one, grand task.
Scan available planets.
Oh boy. Seems like Zaeed's gonna wait for a bit longer.
Terminator Shep was on his way out to stop some blue suns, who were using a fake distress signal to lure ships in, when he found out some Batarians had taken over an alliance missile base and were trying to blow up a colony.
Those pesky Batarians.
Termy killed them all with gusto, but could only save one of two targets. He saved the civilians and the industrial area was destroyed. The colony is no longer viable but the people yet live.
After defeating the blue suns and finding out one of them had died fighting him on Omega. He decided he couldn't afford to wait much longer for that IFF, scoring himself Legion the friendly Geth Robot and finally getting the brawler achievement (I may now purchase Arrival just to knock the other Achievements off.)
After arriving on Illium he told Liara her stooge was actually somebody else's stooge. She won't be a problem anymore.
Miranda needed help saving her sister and Termy needed to let off some steam.
So he brought his Arc Projector for a run.
Fun times ahead with Zaeed complaining about Vido. Termy has decided to get it out the way and shut him up.

- Accidentally got locked into a romance with Kaidan because I was nice to him early. I turned him down before Ilos but apparently this will register as a romance in ME2. Need to figure out how to fix that.
- Had a bug where I couldn't walk up the ramp after Saren shot himself. Reloaded and it worked.
- Overall, kind of a weirdly glitchy run-through of ME1.
- But, got to be the poster girl for the Alliance, so all's well that ends well.
Hey, I have a question for all of you modders out there and I'm not sure where else to ask after searching Google with no results. Ignore this if you don't mod the game.
I tried changing my hair in ME2 to the Icon Bun and changed the hair color, only the scalp color is now different than the bun. What vector parameters am I missing here or need to add?
Edit: Nevermind, I solved the problem by just picking another hairstyle for now
Hi there. Recently I began replaying the trilogy after over 2 years and it's still very fun. This time though I'm doing things I never did with previous characters.
Ex: I made a non-Liara romance Shepard for once who is only interested in human men though. She has no luck in romance though after Kaidan gives her the Horizon treatment and gets shot by Garrus in ME3, Jacob cheats on her, and James will on a one night stand.
...And this is the radical one. I made a Shepard who never picks a persuasion option. There are actually some very interesting sequences many people never see that way. Ex: When you recruit Grunt. Of course, crew members will inevitably die in situations like the suicide mission since I can't use persuasion to break the Jack/Miranda-Tali/Legion conflicts. I also intentionally mess up loyalty missions like Thane's, and can't beat Samara's for example without persuasion.
Priority: Tuchanka done! It went reeeally smooth and I only got 4 brutes at the end by the Shroud
We were ready to touch down on Tuchanka yet again to spread the cure, but of course there was a problem. A Reaper sitting directly in front of the Shroud. With some help of the turians we'll hopefully make it.
Before we could go, the salarian dalatress called and offered me Plan B. Sabotaging the cure. Interesting. I... might make use of it. Nothing but trouble with these krogan. But maybe I shouldn't worry too much, this is all future crap anyway, who knows if we even get to that point.
With that we took the shuttle and landed on Tuchanka. We met Wrex's brother, not a pleasant dude. No surprise, really. Fortunately Wrex and Eve could keep him in line.
We headed for the Shroud, but were stuck at one point. Broken road, just great. And as if that was not enough, thanks to the Reaper one of the turians ships crashed down right next to us and the whole damn area collapsed. I yelled at Wrex to get the hell out of here, and Liara, EDI and I went through some old catacombs to catch up with the others later on. We were shaken by some tremors, and Eve revealed this might be Kalros, the mother of all thresher maws. Now if that isn't a joy. Reapers, thresher maws, what's coming next?
But I gotta hand it to Eve, she had a great idea about that. Once we had caught up with her and the others, she told us about a plan to lure Kalros to the Reaper to distract it. Crazy plan, but I like it. We were to activate some maw hammers by the Shroud to lure in Kalros, and Liara, EDI and I took care of some Reaper forces before I could eventually hit the hammers. I sent my squad back to the truck and saw Kalros actually taking down a frigging Reaper. Impressive.
I headed for the Shroud and met up with Mordin... he was alone. He had said earlier that Eve's vital signs were troubling, and now she really died. Damn, I kinda liked her. And with Eve dead, a reasonable voice for the krogan was gone. I know Wrex's intentions are good, I believe him, but it's risky. I saw how Wreav was. I know how krogan are. No, can't let it happen... I need to find a way to deal with Mordin, some way to convince him. I tried to delay him, and he saw right through me. He knew I was trying to stop him from going up that tower and spreading the cure.
I did the only thing I could... Words weren't going to help me here, so I drew my gun. Mordin was not intimidated by that and was set on going up, and when he turned around to go, I fired the shot. F*ck, I'm... sorry. I didn't mean for this to happen like that.
Angry and frustrated I made my way back... I attended Eve's funeral and I just felt empty. Words rang hollow, I felt like all of this wasn't even real. Damnit, I knew what I was doing, I wanted it. Why do I feel like sh*t now? Because of Mordin? Because of Wrex, who has no idea what I just did? I don't know, but now I can only hope the krogan never ever find out. No one can...
I returned to the Normandy and Garrus convinced me to get some sleep. Another nightmare. I heard Kaidan. Only one of the people I lost. Liara came by and told me the salarian Councilor wanted to speak with me. He was concerned about Udina and something about money, but what do I care about their f*cking political bullsh*t? I told him to let C-Sec take care of it, but he would not let go. Allright, let's head to the Citadel and see what he can tell me.
Picture time:
Spoiler
Wrex going in with style
Reaper action.
This Cannibal was lifted in the air and decided to just hang out there before I killed him
More killing. Mattock is really really fun to use btw.
Love sending them flying! Weeeee.
Gotcha. This time it took the Marauders quite long to arrive.
Oh Wrex
Liara looking good in front of that neat Cryo explosion
This is a funny comment when actually playing on Insanity
Brute incoming!
The latter...
The funeral has a great tone, I love this scene in general, it's so well done imo. Also, ahaha, Wrex has Paragon lights and Shepard Renegade... how fitting.
I have I have David archer to rescue and Legions loyalty but.....
I'm currently googling videos of Gei Hinnom on insanity because the stupid Qwaaaaahhhrian keeps dying and when I get to Rannoch I'm choosing the Geth because of weakling vas weakling race! Tali will be dead by then anyway so there's no need to save them!
I'm considering doing a "Blonde Shepard" playthrough sometime. It would be interesting to play the game this way, since I usually pick the "good" choices.
I didn't agree with everything in this one, but it's still a good read. Next week will be on one of the worst parts of the game, so that should be hilarious.
EDI: "Commander, it seems we have enough resources."
Shepard: *ignores and keeps scanning*
*cough* Either way... Zaeed finally joined the Normandy, although Shepard didn't help him the way he wanted (paragon route - somehow still got Zaeed's loyalty). On their way back to Omega, team picked up tank-bred krogan, who turned out to be Shepard's new adopted son who's name was Grunt. Then they picked salarian doctor and Archangel-aka-plot-twist-aka-Garrus. There was one more dossier left - Jack. Recruited.
After that TIM called. Time to hit Horizon.
Also: I decided to try out M-490 Blackstorm (impressive despite its charge time). I have it now, so why not? I wanted to record its effect and this happened:
Spoiler
Poor turian got stuck burning on the wall, but I don't have that recorded (not even simple screenshot). I was too busy laughing.
