Adept Shepard on insanity...
Currently on the 'abandoned' Collector ship (at the platforms) and I was hoping to complete this mission today but it doesn't look like it's going to happen
.
Shepard's death tally today:
- killed by Collector Assassin's particle beam twice.
- killed by Harbinger's flame shot eight times.

- killed by Scion shockwave.
- killed by Collector gunfire five times.
Mordin and Tali end up falling as soon as the battle starts and I only have the two medi-gel.
I never had this much difficulty on this section before.
I might try again later today but at the moment it's just frustrating

Tali? Tali!?!?!?! I think I have identified your problem: you only have one and half squad mates.
Why did you bring Tali? To hear her dialogue? Because you felt confident enough to solo the mission?

Yes it was mainly to hear the different dialogue because I've never brought Tali along to the Collector ship before.
I think I've got her "we've got incoming hostiles" memorised considering how many times I've heard in the past hour
.
And... Shepard has died at least 5 more times since I last posted
.
I'm going stick with this team though, even if this mission takes a whole month to complete it!

I hate that fight. When Harby's seeker swarms knock my Shepard back, Shepard seems to always decide to wait three seconds and then vault over the cover into the hundreds of streams of gunfire.

Delaying Sur'Kesh by doing some side missions and DLCs. Highlight of the day: taking down Harvester with Nova during Ann Bryson's rescue mission
Maybe Sentinel is my favourite class, but damn. Really aggressive Vanguard is nice once in a while.

Jane Shepard (Adept) caught Legion dancing in the AI Core.
Then she left the Normandy with all squadmates while the crew tested the IFF. The Collectors dropped by and took everyone except Joker. This made Jane very mad.
Gave Legion a new coat of paint.
Traveled through the Omega-4 Relay. Destroyed a few flying golf balls and a big-ass Collector Ship. Crash-landed on the Collector Base.
infiltrated the base, everyone survived.
Walked in a biotic bubble to another location. Everyone survived.
Took down a baby Reaper and blew up the base. Everyone that was not a Collector survived. Illusive Man not happy. Too bad.
* * *
And that is it for Jane Shepard. I love the ME2 Adept. So much fun,
So tomorrow I should be back to David Shepard, Slam Engineer, as he continues his Mass Effect journey just as the Reapers arrive on Earth.

Tali's not a bad Insanity choice for that section. Combat Drone can cheese Scions (or anyone really) off their platform and instakill if the platform's moving, or stunlock them indefinitely in their melee/pulse attack animation and render them harmless. It tends to thwart Harbinger for quite a lot of time too, as long as it's level 3 or higher. Then you can then just pick off all the mooks 1 by 1 no problem so he can't respawn. She can also carry a GPS, which is one of the better squadmate weapons vs the barriers that Collector mooks have.
Her and Garrus (who's probably a meh choice for Collector missions but w/e) are the only squad I ever bring on the Cruiser, not for tactical reasons, but because everyone else is too dumb to wear proper gear for the environment. I've never played the mission below Insanity, and I never have any issues with this team. In fact, can't remember last time I died there. Only section that takes even a little tactical acumen is the armored husk horde at the end, but even then drone> nuke the cluster around it combined with a bit of kiting is simple and effective.
I'm going stick with this team though, even if this mission takes a whole month to complete it!
Apply some of the above with Tali, put drones on Scions, then deal with other enemies and come back to them if need be. Mordin's primary power for that mission should be area Incinerate vs armored husk rush, Scions, and Harbinger after you've taken down his barrier. Cryo blast for trooper level targets of oppoutunity that are on health to CC and make them take extra damage. Give him Tempest for barriers.
In general, do what you can to eliminate trooper type enemies first, so you don't waste time and ammo fighting Harby over and over as he possesses them in succession. You also have to pay attention to squadmate positioning on Insanity if you don't want them to drop so easily. The AI tends to go haywire during the moving platform sections and they'll climb all over the place seeking new cover as the map changes if you don't stop them.

Today I got killed by a banshee. I haaaate them ![]()
After arriving at the Citadel, I made my way to Purgatory as fast as I could, and there she was... Jack waited by a table and we caught up a bit. She told me about how her students were holding up, and that she almost regrets that they're doing good work, that she's needed with them because of that. Otherwise she would've come with me. She said she'd understand if I wanna call it quits now. No, Jack. I'm not giving what we have up so easily. It might be a while until we can see each other again, but for once I found someone I want to stay with, someone I... love. And who knows, once-- if this is ever over, maybe we'll even settle down? Living the good life, buying a house, sharing one big bed... I pushed away my thoughts and kissed her. And then I took her to the dance floor. She made a joke about how I can't dance. She's right, but I don't care right now. All that matters is that we enjoy this moment.
After meeting up with some of my crew and talking to Miranda via holo, we headed for Lesuss to check out this Ardat-Yakshi monastery Liara had told me about.
Steve dropped us off and we went inside. It was dark, and we found bodies... both Reapers and asari. Ash found a datapad and said the asari commandos had set up a bomb in the Great Hall. We had to fight a couple of Reaper troops... a perverted asari amongst others. Must be hard for Liara.
We met an asari called Falere, and it turned out she's Samara's daughter. She blamed me for her mother's death at the Collector base and ran off. We followed her to the Great Hall and found her kneeling next to her sister. The bomb was there, too. Unfortunately her sister was already underway of becoming one of these things, but came to her senses one last time. She wanted Falere to go so she could detonate the bomb. In the end I had to drag Falere out. She was really mad I did that, but Rila sacrificed herself so her sister could live. Falere decided to stay at the monastery and Steve picked us up.
Some screenies:
I'm not sure how much I'm gonna play over the next week or 2, because Uncharted 4 is coming out in 3 days! And I have to finish up Inquisition at least over the weekend ![]()

Adept Shepard on insanity...
Died some more today at the same point until I finally had a breakthrough and managed to get past it
. I had the same team/weapons as the previous few days and this is how the fight turned out... Mordin and Tali fell against the first platform full of Collectors. Normally, I would've revived them straight away but this time, I waited and focused my attacks on the Collector soldiers. At this point, I just used the missile launcher like a maniac and managed to clear two platforms of Collectors. I used the medi-gel when there was only two scions on the map. I followed Quarian Master Race's advice by using the drone on the scions and this made the fight a lot easier (so thanks QMR, it never even crossed my mind to send a drone to a scion. I was just sending the drone into the middle of a Collector pack like a klutz
). Tali managed to survive until the end of the fight and she even killed Harbinger with a shotgun attack as well. Shepard then defeated the floating crab with ease and everyone finally escaped the ship.
Shepard can now return to being a problem solver. He decided to have a change of pace and help Samara track her daughter. The trail led to a VIP section of the nightclub and Shepard needed to get her attention. So he encouraged the bartender to give out free drinks and knocked out a few Turians. Morinth was impressed by this show and took Shepard to her apartment. Morinth tried her mind games but Shepard's positive attitude but a stop to it. Samara entered the apartment to smash her daughter's face in.
Shepard then attended a club of a different kind (the high society criminal club) to help Kasumi. They both broke into Hock's vault where they shot at his prize possessions and his guards. Shepard then used Hock's own gun against him and this has made combat a lot easier. Hock was blown up and Kasumi made her final farewell to virtual Keiji. Shepard could see Kasumi was hesitant to destroy the information so he destroyed it on her behalf.
Helped Thane next on the Citadel to stop an assassination. They needed to question Elias first and decided to play 'bad cop'. Shepard didn't like Elias's bravado so he began the questioning with a slight smack on the head. They began talking and Elias was being stubborn so Shepard threatened to "cut his balls off and sell them to Krogan" and this was enough to make him talk. Shepard and Thane caught up with Kolyat and they distracted him so the politician could get away.
Travelled to the picturesque planet of Zorya next to help with Zaeed's vendetta. Zaeed became a bit reckless during the mission so Shepard gave him a paragon punch for endangering civilian lives. Shepard then told Zaeed that they were both going to save the workers. Vido escaped and Zaeed wasn't too thrilled. Shepard still managed to keep Zaeed focused and loyal to see the suicide mission through to the end.
Back on the Normandy, apparently Shepard was giving Jack mixed signals and she thought Shepard might be romantically interested (these were just innocent friendly chats
). Shepard needed to nip this in the bud so he told he wasn't interested. I now get the angry "F*** Off" response every time Shepard tries to speak with her.
Shepard visited Tuchanka for the first time in order to rescue Mordin's colleague. Wrex called Shepard "my friend" (I wouldn't go that far when you had a gun his face at Virmire) and didn't even acknowledge Tali who was standing beside him. Shepard killed some pyjacks just to get a store discount and then he travelled to the nearby hospital. The speaker of Clan Weyrloc began his speech but his hot-headedness caught up with him
. Shepard must've learned the technique of shooting a gas pipe by watching Zaeed earlier. This facility is another facility used to research a cure for the Genophage. Shepard encouraged a Krogan scout to return to camp by telling him not to act like a "Quarian with a bellyache". Not the best choice of words when Tali's nearby, "I'm standing right here"
. They found Maelon and Mordin let him leave. Shepard destroyed the data because after listening to Mordin throughout, he believes the Genophage was the right call.
The next stop will be the Migrant Fleet.

I have finished Halona Shepard's playthrough ![]()
This playstyle was fun, risky but effective and spectacular
Shockwave has become one of my favorite detonator powers, due to travelling through walls. If it affected more than two targets at once, I would've called it the best!
And I took a coward's way out at the end of the Priority: Earth because I didn't want to risk that almost perfect walkthrough of the mission ![]()
Also montaged some James dialogue (which, I believe even fraggle has missed
) and posted in the Little Things You've Discovered thread here: Link

Good work, happy it helped! Adept's generally my least played class, but Mordin/Tali is my favourite team and I've done just about every mission with that combination on Insanity more than once.
And yeah, it's not intuitive at first but the among the easiest ways to trivialize ME2 Scions is the drone. It's a useful power on any mission with them. If you bring multiple drones in the squad (especially Engineer Shepard's with its insta-cooldown), it actually gets pretty overpowered, and most fights become easy.

Finished Priority: Citadel II. That means I also did everything prior to that. The best part was when I took Javik to Sur'Kesh with me. Didn't regret it even for a moment. Wrex's comment on a shuttle was only the beginning.
Also forgot to mention in my previous post. Atlas didn't spawn after entering Gozu District, probably because I charged to the other side of the room even before properly entering it. Oh, and... I hate the catwalks as Vanguard ![]()

I'm playing ME 1 again and just for fun, instead of putting my squad in the best armor credits can buy, I put them in the most unattractive. Right now, Garrus is wearing a creamsicle number while Kaidan is wearing the white and pink one. Apparently, in the future, armor doesn't have to have any camouflaging qualities at all.
