That actually happened to me too when I tried gambling with Schells' device. It kept happening even after reloading a couple times, so I gave up and ended up giving the device to Doran. I then went back to Schells who was understandably upset about losing years of research, and said " What am I supposed to do now?". Kaidan told him to get a job. Ha XD

Hmnmn... Maybe it's not simple gambling device...

Mass Effect 2?

If it was that easy... There are three sides of this conflic. One wants me to import this Shepard and see how badly she screwed up this time. The other one wants me to return to ME3 pt. The last one - probably the loudest - screams at me for another ME1 pt to finally get my last achievement. Who to listen?

Replayed Virmire.

I love how well constructed Virmire as a level and missions were. Just so many memorable moments. The game could easily have peaked there, and sort of felt anti-climatic on Ilos and the Citadel, but i think its a testament to the writing that the tension didn't let up after Virmire.

(also kind of reminds me of The Incredibles, as a planet  :) )

Adept Shepard on insanity...

Arrived at the Migrant Fleet where Tali was accused of bringing active Geth to the fleet. Shepard was a little reluctant as acting as Tali's representative but this hesitation soon disappeared when the trial was underway. Solicitor Shepard made a convincing opening argument at the beginning of the proceedings but this didn't last long as he couldn't hide his disgust when they revealed her father died on the Alarei. Shepard and Tali planned to retake the Alarei to get a better understanding on what's going on. Before departing to the Alarei, Shepard had a talk with the Quarian celebrities such as Raan, Gerrel, Koris, Reegar, Veetor (who is recovering nicely from the Collector attack) and Xen. Xen is by far my favourite Quarian because she's a little bit eccentric and I agree with her views on the Geth (I see them as machines rather than being 'alive')

On the Alarei, it was discovered that Rael had bypassed safety protocols to secretly experiment on the Geth. Shepard died once on the Alarei because a sneaky Geth Hunter got too close . Shepard told Tali that retaking the Quarian home world from the Geth is a worthy goal. Shepard and Tali found Rael's body and they listened to his message beyond the grave. This message said the research data should be handed over to Gerrel and Xen. Shepard and Tali fought their way through to the end of the ship and they found the evidence they needed. Tali wanted to keep her father's experiments a secret so she doesn't want to hand over the evidence. Shepard didn't want Tali to be exiled for the crimes of her father so he thinks the admirals should see the data. Shepard also believes the Quarians could use this evidence in the fight against the Geth.

Shepard and Tali returned to the trial. I had the paragon choice to say "I don't need evidence" which is a bit farfetched when trying to prove your innocence at a trial  so Shepard handed over the physical evidence and told the Quarians to use this research. Tali was cleared of the charges and then Shepard told the Quarians "to take their home world back from the Geth". Tali isn't happy with Shepard in the short term but he hopes she can see what he did was right further down the line. Shepard told Tali that she'll be able to return to the Migrant Fleet when their mission is over but she replied "Who are you kidding Shepard? None of us are coming back from this mission" :(. So Tali remains unloyal.

Shepard had a chat with Tali back on the Normandy to see if there was any fallout of revealing the evidence. She said it has created "chaos" among the Quarian people. Shepard still stands by what he did though. Tali feels a little bit betrayed and she told him "I backed my friend (when he needed me) and then you went into my backyard and did the thing I asked you not to because you thought better!". She finished the conversation with "don't talk to me unless you need something from me". Tali was laying the guilt trip on hard :(.

Shepard then went to speak to Jack straight afterwards and I forgot that she doesn't want to speak with Shepard either. I guess you can call Shepard "Mr Popular" at this stage .

The next stop will be Jacob/Garrus loyalty missions.

I made a new Renegade Shepard.  This is what I do with RPGs- I keep creating characters and then never finish them , but I'd like to finish the trilogy with this one.  Her appearance and personality is loosely based on Kara "Starbuck" Thrace from Battlestar Galactica (2003).

Kara Shepard.  Colonist.  Ruthless.  Soldier.

From the journal of David Shepard:

I met with Kaidan on the Citadel. He decided to take Udina's offer and become a Spectre. i congratulated him, then rushed off; i was on a tight deadline. I ran into Kelly Chambers again. She had changed her hair and her name. Glad to see she took my advice. I also ran into Miranda on the way out. Seems she had a falling out with The Illusive Man and ran away from Cerberus. Cerberus was hunting her, but she did not seem that concerned about it, mostly because she was more concerned with her sister Oriana who was missing and her father was likely involved somehow.

Back on the ship, we headed to Eden Prime. The Turian Primarch wants to invite the Krogan to the summit meeting, but he agreed that the Prothean artifact uncovered by Cerberus was more important. If it could help up build the Crucible or help the war effort in other ways, it was too valuable to wait. Well it turns out the Prothean artifact was actually a Prothean in stasis. What a find! Despite Cerberus interference, we managed to wake him up and get him out alive to the Normandy. His name is Javik, and he is a soldier. Unfortunate that he was not a scientist, but everyone agreed he could still be useful to the team, especially with his extensive experience.

Next we headed to Grissom Academy to deal with the distress call. We expected that it was Cerberus. Grissom Academy is home to some very gifted people. The Primarch, although still wanting to go the war summit, agreed that we needed to look into the Grissom Academy right away, especially if Cerberus was involved. It was at this point I noticed that someone painted nipples on my armor. Seriously, I go away for a few minutes and already someone is messing with my equipment. Speaking of equipment, they also painted my gun neon green and pink. I suppose i should count myself lucky that they did not mod my gun to shoot blanks.

Anyway, we landed on Grissom Academy and found that yes, it was Cerberus that sent the fake distress call, and that they were after biotic student. Figures. Kahlee Sanders -- an associate of Captain Anderson -- was an instructor at the academy and guided us through the school, where we ran headlong into Jack! Turns out Jack is an instructor, too; not what I would have expected in a million years, but it suits her. We managed to get Jack and the remaining biotic students off the station safely, killing a bunch of Cerberus troops along the way. It felt good to get people out alive, although we immediately sent them off to help support some troops on Palaven. They aren't Krogan, but the Primarch is glad for their assistance.

I think it is about time we head off to that war summit. I am not looking forward to playing peacekeeper between the Krogan and Salarian dalatross.

My fish died. I felt bad dragging Garrus and Miranda to Ilium and the Citadel just to buy more fish. And really, isn't that something I can make the Yeoman do the for me?

Well, is the sky still bright Asari blue?! I want to know!

Broke up a fight between Jack and Miranda by yelling at them. It was fun.

Haven't had much time, been sick and busy. But Termy made it through the relay got arrested watched earth fall recruited Liara and did everything between Menae and curing the Genophage. Will have to kill Wiks, Termy is having to make hard decisions he'll struggle to live with. Like giving the Queen a second chance. Tricking the Krogan goes against everything he stands for. But he needs ships to win the war.

Observations.

This game never really needed Garrus for any reason at all.

Javik EDI combo is now my fav to bring to Sur'kesh.

James is a must for Rachni mission and second Tuchanka bomb mission with Liara.

Update later.

*gasp* Lies and slander!

But no, I think in ME he was supposed to be the guy who could prove that Turians and humans can get along, despite going after a rogue Turian Spectre and people remembering the First Contact War. But then he turned into a favorite character.

I ended up making another Shepard based on a celebrity/character.  I tried to make her look like Sigourney Weaver.  I still think that the default Femshep should have been based on Ellen Ripley.

Ellen Shepard.  Colonist.  Ruthless.  Soldier.

Okey, Jannisara went on shore leave and it didn't turn out as expected. Instead she got attacked by a new type of merc band. It involved stylish casino red carpet smiling and waving.

Spoiler

Investigation turned the affair into a clone war!

Spoiler

She keeps the bravado up even in "defeat".

Spoiler

The final showdown with the clone turned into a very close quarter of charge and nova with the occasional overload from Kaidan. Clearly Jannisara had quicker cooldowns than the clone.

The traitorous Brooks, Maya, Hope whatever finally got the message.

Spoiler

After that r&r! And as always showing Vega who's the boss!

Spoiler

Jannisara also held a memorial for Thane, who had been a teammate, friend and lover. That was rough.

Spoiler

They then went to Horizon to investigate Santuary where they met a friend. Who had had a run in with the bastard Leng. Leng got away but we now have a strong lead on where TIM might be hiding.

Spoiler

But first PARTY!

Spoiler

So Jannisara went to Chronos base. EDI accompanied of course, as well as Kaidan. Leng got his due. They also learned of TIMs ultimate betrayal.

Spoiler

Next stop Earth for the final push and hope for victory! Javik and James was chosen for the Hades guns.

Pep-talk at the FOB.

Spoiler

Together with Kaidan and Liara she brought the Reaper destroyer down and opened up the approach for the beam. Liara and Kaidan was severely injured running for the beam but the Normandy was able to evacuate them to relative safety.

Spoiler

Leaving Kaidan was tough and they both understood that this was most likely the last goodbye.

Spoiler

Jannisara made it to the citadel, however severly damaged after being hit by Harbinger beam. Most likely not a direct hit but her armor got blown away, had an abdominal puncture wound among others. Anderson was already there as well as indoctrinated TIM. Jannisara made TIM see the truth and in a last force of will TIM decided to commit suicide in order to break the reapers hold over him.

Spoiler

She opened the arms of the citadel, the crucible docked and then...nothing. Until the catalyst showed itself. She was given three choices and decided to put her trust in the catalyst. In the end being true to her rather altruistic side Jannisara chose synthesis.

Spoiler

Hmmmm...back to the beginning?

No, doubt about it. I'm so itching for ME1 that I already have four characters ready to go. :D  This was my second go with Jannisara. Apparently Mordin died on the suicide mission but I totally missed it. All loyal crew and fully upgraded Normandy but my decisions still got Mordin killed. The problem for me as a player was that I missed it. :o  So I had to go back. This time around though Mordin survived and I sqeezed every bit of syllable out of EDI and Joker. Synthesis is really weird from a technical standpoint but...the feels! :)
