From the journal of David Shepard:

I finally took the Primarch to the war summit and met with the Salarian Dalatrass and Wrex, the Krogan clan chief. It did not take long for the summit to get very heated and emotional. The Dalatrass was certainly livid and angrily ripped into Wrex for even being at the summit. Wrex fired back, but I could tell he was fighting the urge to rip her head off. Luckily Victus, emotional but experienced at dealing with high emotions on the battlefield, managed to keep the summit moving along.

We reached an agreement: Wrex would agree to send the Krogan to help the Turians, if the Krogan were cured from the Genophage. Understandably, the Salarian Dalatrass balked at the idea, but Victus needed Krogan support to help stem the tide on Palaven. One problem: creating a cure could take years and we did not have years. And then Wrex played his trump card: some Krogan females had survived Maelon's expirements and were immune to the Genophage, and the Salarians were keeping them for study.

That revelation set the Dalatrass off again, but she was outnumbered and she reluctantly agreed to give them to Wrex. So we went to the Salarian homeworld of Su'Kesh to an STG facility. After a disastrous first impression -- because of miscommunication, we did not have authorization to land and then Wrex nearly got killed by the Salarians when he jumped out the shuttle -- we agreed that I would go get the females while Wrex stayed up top.

Of course, the base was full of secrets, such as a covert Yahg uplift (really?) experiments on increasing Varren intelligence, and the fact that all but one of the females had died in the Salarian's care. The remaining Krogan female was currently in stable condition although in poor health. And then everything went to hell when Cerberus attacked the facility. It was clear that while Wrex had an inside source -- Padok Wiks -- Cerberus had their own inside source and was trying to kill the remaining female Krogan.

After some brutal fighting, we managed to get the Krogan female out safely and back onto the Normandy where Padok Wiks would begin synthesizing a cure from her tissue. Wrex was adamant that he would not help the Turians until the Krogan were cured. In private, he also mentioned to me that Rachni were spotted by some his scouts. Victus also told me in private that a Turian ship had crashed on Tuchanka and wanted it investigated; he refused to tell me more since the details were classified.

Why can't anything be simple in this war?

Experienced the lowest EMS-tier ending for the first time:
Non-import; completed main missions, Tuchanka: Turian Platoon and Rannoch: Admiral Koris (KIA).
EMS @50% galactic readiness: 1190;
only Destroy available.

Spoiler

Some memorable moments:
> Curing the genophage... with Wreav as leader...
> Kaidan saw reason and killed Udina
> Siding with the Geth. Tali did not like that. (And Shepard did not care.)
Spoiler

> Miranda and Henry Lawson dead, Oriana lives
> Stabbing that guy with the great hair sword. Reloaded to stab him again.
Wish there were multiple interrupts in succession.
Spoiler

> MShep's "Cortez!" rather than "STEEEVE!" (again, a first); of course Cortez died shortly after, and Kaidan... reacted.
> "I was born in London." - "Really?" *awkward pause*
Spoiler

> Shep standing in front of the vid comm terminal but nobody to call
> Ignoring the gun turret minigame to prepare some mindfish coffee
> TIM babbling something about control, Shepard finally shooting him dead, and defeating the reapers once and for all by shooting a conduit

Here's an interesting low-EMS guide: EMS @ 50% readiness = 857

From the journal of David Shepard:

Specialist Traynor gave me a report about a Cerberus attack on Tuchanka. With no Krogan-Turian alliance yet, we went to go check it out. Not sure who did it, but my armor smelled like sweaty socks that had been left to bake in the hot sun. I am surprised I even had squadmates on this mission I smelled so bad. Turns out Cerberus had gotten control of a big-ass ground-to-space cannon. We took back control of the cannon and used it to fire on a Cerberus ship in space. Not bad at all! Took me forever to get the smell out of my armor.

Next, I decided to check out the Rachni report Wrex gave me. This time someone painted a big "I'm stupid" slogan on my armor that glowed in the dark. I was in dark caves the whole mission. Anyway, Urdnot Dagg -- the leader of Aralakh Company -- mentioned that they had been sent to investigate the disappearance of the Krogan scouting party and said he was sure it was Rachni. We check it out and yes, it was definitely Rachni but they had been modified by the Reapers. Seems the Reapers were breeding a modified Rachni army to unleash on the galaxy... and it was because they had captured the Rachni Queen I had let go all a few years back on Noveria. A tough decision coming back to bite me in the ass. Well I made the same call again and let her go a second time. Urdnot Dagg died getting us out alive. Darn it.

I talked with Javik after the mission. Seems his people had been selecting and breeding the most cunning and warlike of the Rachni queens and unleashing them on their enemies, until they got too cunning and warlike and started attacking the Protheans. The Protheans then exterminated them, but the Rachni survived into our cycle. I mean, they are bugs. You ever try to exterminate an entire species of bugs? It's impossible!

Padok Wiks then called everyone together, saying he had the cure ready but needed a dispersal method. He figured The Shroud, a facility built by the Salarians when they uplifted the Krogan, would be the ideal choice to disperse the cure. I talked with Victus. He said it was better that I wait until later to check out the crashed Turian ship on Tuchanka, since it was more important to ally the Krogans and Turians. So we needed to go cure the genophage next.

But Specialist Traynor gave me a report about Cerberus troops attacking civilians on Benning. Admiral Hackett said that seemed out of character for Cerberus, since attacking human civilians was never a strategy employed by Cerberus, an organization that declared itself 'human survivalist'. So we went to check it out and yes they were attacking civilians, but we found no evidence to explain why. We held them off long enough for civilians to evacuate, and eventually we killed them all or Cerberus pulled out; hard to tell. What wasn't hard to tell was where I was at all times since someone had hacked into my armor's hardsuit computer and made it broadcast Turian tween pop music to everyone within earshot. Thanks for that, whoever it was; real funny. Ha ha ha I am so going to dock your pay whenever I find out who did that.

Adept Shepard on insanity...

Shepard helped Jacob reunite with his father. The Gernsback crew haven't been thinking straight as their minds had been addled by eating toxic food. Some of the crew have turned into bloodthirsty hunters and want to tear the new captain apart. After Jacob and his father had brief chat, Shepard decided to leave Ronald's fate to these hunters. Samara agreed with this as well by stating "it was a reasonable idea". The last scene of Ronald was him receiving a smack to the head (knocking him out) and so he remains a prisoner on his personal paradise planet. He's probably dead.

Shepard then helped Grunt mature his killing instincts by helping with his Tuchanka ritual. The first attempt didn't go so well as Shepard got KOed by a Varren :pinched:. The Krogan eventually patched Shepard up after laughing at his humiliating first attempt. Shepard and Grunt took down a Thresher Maw on foot which earned the respect of the Krogan.

Assisted Garrus on the Citadel by trying to find Sidonis. The search led to a shifty Volus in the warehouse. The Volus was accompanied by two burly Krogan bodyguards and violence soon erupted. These two Krogan were killed with ease and the search for Fade continued. When they caught up to Fade, Garrus squeezed Sidonis's location from him. Shepard saved Harkin from a bullet though because it wasn't worth the waste of ammo. Shepard acted as Garrus's envoy in the Sidonis meeting and wanted to keep the talks peaceful. So he stood between Sidonis and the clear shot. This was another case where Shepard thinks he knows best rather than listening to his crew. Shepard didn't want Garrus to regret killing another Turian and Garrus reluctantly let Sidonis go. Shepard thinks this is the best outcome and Garrus will probably appreciate this further down the line. Sidonis the betrayer will have to live on with the guilt on what he did.

Shepard has done all he can with his team to prepare them for the suicide mission. He needed to go to the derelict Reaper to obtain the IFF. Shepard located the IFF and he salvaged a high tech walkie-talkie. He activated the Geth on the Normandy. This was extremely dangerous to activate an unknown AI on the ship but Shepard was personally curious about the machine.

The machine had a name and it wanted Shepard to drop by the heretics station to prevent a virus from spreading. Shepard did this and destroyed the base. Shepard's second death today was when a Geth Hunter sneaked too close (deja vu from a couple of days ago :bandit:).

EDI installed the IFF and the Normandy was ambushed by Collectors. All the crew were taken apart from Joker. At this point, I wish there was an option to be absolutely furious with Joker and place all the blame on him. He's like an unlucky charm (kills Shepard in the beginning and now loses the crew) and still acts smug. He's just so irritating... anyway I'll stop before this turns into a rant :P.

Shepard needed to retaliate against such a brazen attack so he decided to launch the suicide mission straight away. He needed to get his crew back alive. The Normandy landed on the Collector Base and a plan to rescue the crew/take down the Collectors was put in place. Legion was put in the vents because it's a machine. Garrus was in charge of the second team because he had experience with leading a squad. This plan worked and they reached the surviving Normandy crew. Kasumi was tasked as being the chaperone to lead the survivors back to the Normandy. Samara was in charge of the biotic field and Garrus was in charge of the second team again. This was when Shepard died twice by a lowly husk attack -_-. Shepard then proceeded to the heart of the facility with Thane and Samara. They found a human Reaper and blew it up. Nothing good has come from this facility, so it was decided that the base will be destroyed. Samara was the vital teammate when escaping as she grabbed Shepard's arm to hoist him into the shuttle. Harbinger's Collector plan had been thwarted. The Illusive Man wasn't happy with all the destruction and made this known to Shepard. Shepard had the last laugh though as he disconnected the chat (just like old times with the Council  :D). Nobody died during the suicide mission even though Tali was unloyal. The fish weren't so lucky :(.

Next up will be helping Liara.

Always :D

Man, these last 3 screenshots are really powerful. I haven't chosen Synthesis with the Extended Cut yet, guess I'm in for some more heartbreak on my next run  :(

Blech. Synethesis is still the worst ending and I hate how flowery the EC epilogue makes it. All of them violate some theme of the series but Destroy can at least be considered a sacrifice.

Still my fav ending. Kasumi tips the scales.

Kasumi's screens tell me I need to tell her to destroy the data from now on. She needs to let go and move on.

I really like that your squadmates die when you have low EMS. It's punishment for you doing a bad job and the emotional impact is far greater than the Crucible frying Earth because no connection to Earth was ever established.  I actually like the idea that Space or even Colonist Shepard may have never even been to Earth before the time between ME2 and ME3, like how Maximus had never visited Rome in Gladiator. They just needed to establish what EMS meant in real terms so you can see it in action.

On Tali, I've never liked that she just stands there begging Shepard to stop Legion. They should have had her attack Legion and make you stop her. Not only would it give more impact by making you be more active in choosing the Geth, it would maintain that Tali is a more active and independent person.

From the journal of David Shepard:

Why can't anything ever be simple with me? We were all set to deliver the genophage cure when Joker got on the comm to tell us that a Reaper was parked right outside The Shroud and was using it to poison Tuchanka's atmosphere. (Side note: Would the Krogan even notice a poisoned atmosphere considering all the radiation?) So we needed a plan to get the Reaper away from The Shroud. We decided on a two-pronged approach: the Krogan would approach it by truck and the Turians would approach it by air to lure it away while we used The Shroud to spread the cure.

Everyone agreed to the plan and went to go get ready when the Salarian Dalatrass called because of course she wanted to make things even more complicated. She told me that the STG had sabotaged The Shroud years ago and asked me to not tell anyone and let the Krogan only think the genophage had been cured. Swell.

So I promptly ignored that advice and told Padok Wiks, Wrex, and Eve anyway. They were grateful. I only hope I made the right choice, unlike the person who fiddled with my Omni Tool so my Combat Drone looked like a giant floating head of me, complete with a goofy smile. Why does my crew like picking on me? And why does EDI refuse to tell me who is pulling off all these pranks?

I was travelling by road with Wrex, Eve, and Wiks when we were forced to stop because the road was out. It did not look too bad to me (it looked like every other road on Tuchanka) but the Krogan thought it would be difficult to cross. One fighter jet crash later, and they were all continuing on the road while my squad and I headed underground... where there were tremors.. caused by Kalros the Mother of All Thresher Maws. Just wonderful.

After a brief detour, we finally met up with Wrex again and headed off to the Shroud with a new plan: summon Kalros to the Reaper by activating giant Maw hammers. Crazy enough, the plan worked and Kalros took down the Reaper, dragging it down into the dirt. It was awesome. What was not awesome was that Padok Wiks had to go up to The Shroud to manually override the sabotage and disperse the cure. The Shroud was falling apart, but he went up and dispersed the cure before it exploded.

Back on the Normandy, Traynor suggested i get some rest. I was tired so I did, but a had another nightmare, the same nightmare i had after Mars where I was in a dark forest chasing after some kid only to see him burst into flames.

Not having had a good sleep but still rested enough, the Salarian councilor called me to tell me that Udina was moving a lot of money and wanted me to check it out. So I agreed to meet with him on the Citadel. Traynor told me about another urgent mission from Admiral Hackett: a Cerberus Fighter Base had been discovered on Noveria, so we went off to go take it from them. Noveria was cold -- as usual -- so someone had the bright idea to paint a snowman onto my armor. It even sang "Frosty the Snowman" because I am convinced my squad hates me for some reason. Anyway, we took down Cerberus, claimed their base for the Alliance and sent off some of the fighters to Admiral Hackett.

I think before I go see the Salarian councilor, I will go help Aria retake Omega.

Went back to ME this month. Reinstalled ME2, used the GE to edit the story plot. Cleared up most of the stuff except suicide mission and Liara's Shadow Broker.

Also reinstalled ME1 because I didn't like some of the points in ME2. Kirrahe died. What? No, I always saved him. Anyways, plopped back ME1, put ME2 on hold and playing the first one now. Just cleared Noveria and got party members' quests done.

Did some chatting around. Sorry Kaidan, didn't mean to lead you on but I've to ditch you. :P  Virmire on the horizon but I think I've better get some of the Cerberus stuff completed. I think I did but there's supposed to be an Alliance outpost to save that hasn't come up yet and the Cerberus ship over run with Rachni. Not very keen to do BtDS when I think of all that stupid Mako driving.

I'm just going do one ME1 PT and use it as a template for ME2 PTs. Driving Mako really tries my patience. I love the alien planetscape but the idiot Mako is a no no. Spoils enjoyment. I'm likely to do another ME3 PT, with the MEHEM mod installed. I won't play #3 without that.

- Got dressed up to go to some party
- Why am I dressed differently from every other woman here? This dress is far too short.
- Donovan Hock is a huge douchebag and has terrible security.
- Stealing the gray box was way easy. Might go back for Lady Liberty's head.
- Let Kasumi keep the memories. If that was all I had of someone, I'd want them too.
- *gazes longingly at Kaidan's photo*
- *rereads Kaidan's email*
- Got a copy of the Shepard VI from some kid.
- Helped Thane's son not kill a guy.
- Garrus wants to kill a guy, so I guess while we're on the Citadel...
- Hey, it's my buddy Harkin!
- What a tool.
- I wish I could have shot him.
- Garrus shot the guy.
- Mordin sang for me.
- I think I'm Miranda's best friend.
- Garrus has, uh... "reach." Okay then.
- Cerberus scientist stuck his brother inside a VI.
- Sent the brother to an Alliance facility.
- Went to Liara's apartment.
- I know I've had trouble with untrustworthy Spectres before, but I see no reason not to place my absolute trust in this unknown Asari.
- Shocking twist! The unknown Asari is working against me!
- She takes a hostage.
- I shoot the hostage. (Pop quiz, hot shot.)
- The Shadow Broker is huge.
- Killed the Shadow Broker. Long live the Shadow Broker.
- Tried to break an Alliance agent out of a Batarian prison and ended up destroying the system. That escalated quickly.
- Probed Uranus.
- Mordin told me that he was definitely not attracted to me.

From the journal of David Shepard:

For all i did the past few day, I have surprisingly little to write about. I joined with Aria's fleet to retake Omega. Things got off to a really bad start when Aria's plan went to hell and we were forced to crashland into Omega in escape pods. Aria and I fought our way to a control room to shut down Omega's outer defenses so what was left of her forces could land, then we travelled to her secret bunker, meeting an old friend of hers along the way, a female Turian named Nyreen Kandros.

Through a series of events, we discovered Nyreen was the leader of The Talons, a local gang that gained prominence after I fought with the other major gangs several months back. Together, we managed to retake Omega and shut down a Cerberus project that was turning captured civilians into monsters called Adjutants. Nyreen sacrificed herself to save some civilians from some Adjutants. i told Aria to take care of Omega's citizens, but I am not sure she will; she is the Pirate Queen of Omega after all.

I did get a nice chess set out of the deal though.

Time to go see what the Salarian councilor wants.

- Paid a visit to the Normandy's crash site
- Had a drink with the Doctor
- Went to pick up the IFF
- A Geth unit picked off a few Husks
- Destroyed the Reaper and took the Geth unit with us
- Activated the Geth unit
- EDI wants to call him Legion. I'm not sure that's an appropriate analogy, given that it was demons and all.
- Decided to rewrite the heretics.
- Take a shuttle to... somewhere
- Crew gets kidnapped by Collectors
- Joker gets us out of there and ohbytheway unshackles EDI
- But that's fine. I'm fine. It's okay that I have two AIs on board. It's totally fine.
- Go get the crew
- Jacob gets carried away by seeker swarms.
- Crew gets rescued
- Blow up the base
- Time to get back to the Alliance, I think.

I'm definitely chucking a few side quests aside. Emily Wong's bug plant, Charles Saracino's election and the diplomat on drugs. I would have done EW's quest but I didn't have a reason to go back to the Citadel Tower.

Finished talking with Vigil. Wished I could ask him why the elite scientists couldn't rummage up something to eat on the Citadel. They could raid the Keepers' larder. Better yet, with the Reapers gone, WTH were they doing with the rest of their time on the station? They could change the Keepers' programming but they couldn't put in some explicit explanation of what happened? Ready to be triggered when the next advance race found the Citadel? duuuh.  Nvm. I'll pretend they were all doddering on their last legs when they went to the Citadel. :P  And every one of them fell over after slotting in the data and the Keepers came along and packed them away.

I could imagine another scene : The mass relay on the CItdael spun. A vehicle came hurtling out. The unfortunate Protheans were bounced around like peas in a pod and all except one was squashed. The fortunate or not so fortunate survivor was badly injured. He fumbled and crawled his way to the Citadel master control and put in the data disc. And died. A Keeper trundled up. Waggled its bump and dragged the prothean away to the protein vats.

Hmm, I've actually forgotten the bed scene for Liara and femShep.

Last mile to run. Kill Sovereign! :D

Cdr Eva Shepard. Spaceborn. Alliance family, grew up on spaceships. Enlisted in the alliance navy at first possible moment. Training as infiltrator. Became a hero of the Alliance for her actions on Elysium under the Skyllian blitz. Commision as XO under Cpt David Anderson on board of the brand new Normandy SR1. En route to Eden Prime for a shakedown run.

However things didn't exactly go as planned as Eden Prime was under attack by the Geth!

Spoiler

The Geth were led by a rogue spectre named Saren. They were there for a prothean artifact, a kind of beacon. Eva stopped them from destroying the beacon and triggered some kind of vision from it. A vision of doom, death and destruction. In order to apprehend Saren for his crimes against humanity Eva went to the citadel. The citadel council wouldn't listen to reason and backed their prize agent. Corrupt politicians!

Spoiler

So with her team she set out to gather the necessary evidence agaisnt Saren. She met a turian officer who was very suspicious of Saren. With a common goal they joined forces.

Spoiler

The investigation led them to a young Quarian named Tali who had incriminating evidence of Sarens guilt. The council could not turn a blind eye no more. Tali joined the crew.

Spoiler

She also crossed path with a krogan bounty hunter with a thorn in his side regarding Saren. Wrex wanted in on the action for free and Eva could not turn an offer like that down.

Spoiler

It was time to present the evidence to the council who answered the overwhelming evidence by appointing Cdr Eva Shepard to the spectre unit as the first human ever. First mission - apprehend Saren!

Spoiler

The ambassador Udina and Cpt Anderson gave her command of the Normandy. Evas first ship! First stop the Artemis cluster where they hope to find. Dr Liara T'Soni, daughter of Sarens top "henchman" the asari matriarch Benezia, and expert an everything prothean.

Huge backlog of screen caps, especially since Lorraine is now in Mass Effect 3! :o

Lorraine Shepard arrives in the Citadel and causes all sorts of trouble! :D

Spoiler

She manages to stumble into Councilor Anderson's office.  The council seems to be at a denial over the Reapers involvement and Lorraine isn't taking this nicely.  After the terrible meeting, she gets a good heart-to-heart conversation with the human councilor.

Spoiler

Lorraine heads for Warlord Okeer and bullies the wounded soldier.  The tank Krogan seemed content with sniffing her armor which grossed her out.  Then, there was Rana even though I didn't touch Mass Effect 1.  Who are you again, named extra?  Okeer wanted to save his perfect Krogan but well, there's always a catch.  Eventually, Okeer perished and Shepard brought the tank back into the Normandy.

Spoiler

Heated discussions took place regarding this abomination.  Shepard decided to open it and recruit the krogan by force.

Spoiler

Lorraine ends her day by remembering the dead.

From the journal of David Shepard:

It has been a long and frustrating day. I went to go see the Salarian councilor, only to stumble in on Cerberus staging a coup! Seems their ultimate goal was to assassinate the council and Udina was backing the plan. Cerberus had taken over C-Sec and killed several officers. We arrived in the Kodiak and took it back. Commander Bailey was injured but still alive; we patched him up with some medi-gel and directed us to the Salarian councilor's location.

We arrived at the location, just in time to see a sword-wielding Cerberus soldier clad in black armor ready to kill the Salarian. We would later find out his name was Kai Leng. Thane arrived just in time to help stop the assassination, but Kai Leng wounded him before making his escape in a shuttle. We chased after him, but he disabled our shuttle by stabbing it (that was surprising to say the least) and we crashed. We made to to an elevator, just missing Kai Leng. We took another elevator while Bailey slowed Kai Leng down.

With Bailey's help and some luck, we managed to beat Kai Leng to the council, only for Kaidan -- protecting the council -- to hold us at gunpoint. I convinced him that Udina was behind the attack, and he turned to Udina. Udina, angry and frustrated, turned and shoved the Asari councilor and pulled a gun on her. Kaidan shot him dead.

After a debriefing with Bailey, I wandered the Citadel, observing the damage. I stopped to see Thane in the hospital to pay my last respects before he died. Kolyat and I watched somberly as he passed. I made a promise that I would kill Kai Leng for him. I managed to stop attempted assassination against a Cerberus informant in C-Sec, but failed to prevent the murder of Volus Ambassador Din Korlack by mercenaries. Din Korlack had been selling secrets to Cerberus and was trying to turn against them when Cerberus decided to have him killed. I was just not fast enough to get to him in time. On behalf of Dr. Chakwas, I brokered a trade with a Turian named Tactus, trading our civilian-grade medical supplies for his miltary-grade medical supplies.

Back on the Normandy, Hackett ordered me to go broker an alliance with the Quarians since they have the largest fleet in the galaxy. I also had a long interview with Diana Allers and a played a few chess matches with Specialist Traynor. Okay, 'played' might be the wrong word; more like 'got my butt handed to me' by Traynor; she's kinda good at chess. James also chatted with me about a recommendation he got to join the N7 program; I encouraged him to join since he is a great soldier.

After a well-deserved nap, I am going to head out and visit the Quarians. Hopefully Tali is still alive. I miss her a lot.

Killed Sovereign.  :D

Resuming ME 2. Finished Suicide Run. Nobody died. :D  Crew is saved.

This PT is totally out of sync. For one, I didn't get Liara's request to hcck something for her so the SB's agent was around to hear Shep give the SB info to Liara.   This is a first for me. I doubt the spy would turn up later.
