For a past few days I played ME3. Today I finished it. If not for the fact that I had quite a few new things waiting for me, I would drop that pt long before the coup. By the time I reach ME3, I already miss my canon lady (not the first time that this happened). I have hard time finishing it with another Shepard. Dammit, I don't have this problem with DA

Either way...

This is how my memorial wall looked at the beginning.

Spoiler

For the first time I got this line during Liara's time capsule scene. Seems I was finally balanced enough to get this.

Spoiler

Shotgun + squad Cryo Ammo meant I got to see shattering from up close.

Spoiler

Gotta love this random smoling salarian in Citadel DLC. Poor guy gets creeped out if you stay close to him for too long

Spoiler

Oh, look. Either I missed an upgrade or it's just strange decoration...

Spoiler

Hmnmn... I'll probably play Zoe again, if I come up with something new. She also transfers rather nice. But for now, I think I'll stick to my canon lady.

Well, I did not play any ME3 on the weekend, and when I tried the other day, I was used way too much to Uncharted's controls, so I'm gonna finish that first

I did however complete James's dialogue for the Geth server, and it seems he has special dialogue when EDI is present.

Shepard: You want me to virtually interact with the geth?

James: That's crazy. Do you robots actually go crazy?

EDI: Not without provocation, Lieutenant.

Also his dialogue differs afterwards depending on whether you've talked to him first or Ash when he cooks his eggs.

Here's the video if interested:

Spoiler

Still love Javik trolling him to bits, Javik's laugh is just awesome :D

I know what you mean. Playing Jean Grey Shepard, I keep thinking about my canon.

"Wrex should not be alive."
"Shepard is not ruthless enough."
"There are not enough names on the memorial wall."

All go through my mind. The genophage arc, for example, is way more interesting with Wreav when destroying Maelon's data. Shepard and Wreav hate each other and know where they stand, but have to work together. I love it. I could picture Nocturnal Shepard thinking, "If I knew what a pain your brother would be, Wrex, I might have let you live."

Died very quickly and decided i wasn't up for it.

Fresh start after a hot cuppa.

Basically this.

http://forum.bioware...n-of-need-help/

If anyone can give me an answer here I'd appreciate it as I haven't been able to leave the notification screen yet out of fear I'll lose either my old saves or my current ones.

So, please? Thank you.

Edit: Disregard, it didn't delete anything. Or even take any time to do anything at all. I'm not sure anything even happened.

I finished the Omega DLC with my paragon Shepard. Omg. For a long time, I thought the paragade ending that leaves Aria confused was the best ...until now. I never did it paragon with the renegade twist before. I love that Shepard gets to kill Petrovsky herself, then tell Aria she does not care how Aria runs Omega (which was how I felt through the whole DLC). I did not think there would be that option. Jean Grey may be the hero first, executor of criminals second type, but she is not setting out to make everyone like her.

I finished all the missions on Rannoch today. Went to the Galaxy Map, quick saved as usual, then came to the odd realisation that I don't care to carry on with the game. Not the main story line or jumping into the Citadel DLC. I just can't be bothered carrying on.

I don't know what it is. I was enjoying the game up until that point, it was interesting to see how little having Gabby dead made to the game and to Ken, I laughed when Samantha said that no matter how much I charm her she still won't feed my fish.

Something has just gone, the energy I felt before just decided to get up and leave.

Finished Tali's loyalty mission. Personally, I feel Tali should have just revealed what her father did. Sure, Shepard got her off with a bit of yelling but it also shone a spotlight that the diversion was to hide something bad. Everyone got the message that Shepard believed Tali but that belief didn't cover the science team and the man in charge. No doubt they'd know that her father was the cause of the event. So what's the point of hiding it?

I've never played Starcraft II but I've watched the cutscenes. I'm definitely impressed with Kerrigan and Raynor's stories. Last I knew, Kerrigan went into the void to fight the evil. Was that it? I wondered. Luckily, I found out there's a conclusion and watched it. It's a bit hard to watch a RTS cutscene movie. It's very well done.  The VAs are good but it's not helpful the dialogues cycled round and round the same themes. There is char development but again, it seems to me they keep saying the same thing in different words. It gets dreary.

I also want to kick the Preserver who is really not a helpful char; I can't figure out what role (other than offering the route where Protoss society remain as they are) she plays when she offers little insight and fails to support Artanis. I'd just cut off her cords than to listen and watch her get possessed by Amon over and over again. The whole thing doesn't do anything (I'm bad, I'm going to rule everything, I'm going to take everything, I tell you the reason why everything must go, you will fail, .... <_< )

It perks up when Kerrigan appears; I was waiting for her actually. :D  I'm glad to see a happy ending. Instead of taking lives, she now sows life on barren planets and she has the one she loves, Raynor, with her.

I could do with some happy endings.

I've been reading some novels by Brian Keene and I've yet to come across and ending I'd even describe as hopeful.

Suppose I should stop reading stories in the apocalypse genre really.

I'm back, woohoo! I'm finally (mostly) done with Uncharted 4 and continued my current ME3 run. It's good to be back :)

We were on our way to meet with the quarians, who wanted to talk, but we made a small detour first to go to Sanctum. There, Liara, Ash and I retrieved some Reaper artifacts from a Cerberus lab. The things I've read there were seriously disturbing... what are they doing to their own people? Of course we had to fight some troops, had a few close calls. Luckily Steve got us out soon enough.

We then met up with the quarian admirals, and guess what. They're at war with the geth, while the Reapers invade. Great. They asked for my help because they were pinned down in their home system. A geth dreadnought was in the middle of all this, broadcasting a Reaper signal that made the geth significantly stronger. Alright, we can disable that. I went ahead to secure a docking tube for my team, and when I saw Rannoch out there, I thought of Tali. It sucks she's not around... if the quarians really retake their homeworld... damn, she would've loved to have seen this. This was what her father promised her. Maybe we can make it a reality.

Inside the dreadnought we had to take out some geth, annoying little sh*ts. As we entered the drive core, we finally approached the source of the signal. Just... it wasn't simply a device, the Reapers were using Legion! Ash had reminded me to be careful about trusting Legion, and I knew she was right, hooked up to the Reapers and all, but when Legion disabled the dreadnought's weapons and barriers as a gesture of good faith after freeing it, my doubts were gone. It has helped us once again, we can trust it. Can't exactly say that about Han'Gerrel. That idiot fired on us when he realised the dreadnought was vulnerable, instead of pulling out and getting the fleet to safety. I was so mad about this that I couldn't control myself and punched this a*shole after returning to the Normandy. Ugh, just get out of my face.

They can be glad I need their support with the Reapers. Yeah, the Reapers... back to business. The short version: the geth still have Reaper upgrades, but Legion doesn't know yet where the Reaper base is. However, it told us about a geth server that controls some geth fighter squadrons we should definitely stop, and since Admiral Koris's ship also was shot down while we were on the dreadnought, we should see to these two things asap while Legion figures out where exactly the Reaper base on Rannoch is.

Piiiics:

These missions really were a pain, so many close calls, so many wrong hit buttons (I'm not kidding, it was quite tough getting back into ME3 controls after almost a month!) Also, it was the first time ever that I punched Gerrel, and I enjoyed it :D Idan is most likely the only character I did this with, at least for the time being ;)

They've had that Andromeda tag for a little while, but it just moved to the top of the list of options when you type "mass". Not sure why it moved up to the top. Hopefully we can start getting ultra hyped next Sunday.

I haven't done anything today... But I soon will. First playthrough in years, now that I finally got a new 360. Well, a "new" used 360 Slim. I had an original fat 360 that manages to last a full 8 or 9 years before finally getting the RRoD, despite me putting literally thousands and thousands of hours into it. Not even sure how that was possible. Anyway, I'll finally be starting another trilogy playthrough as soon as I get the transfer cable any day now. As soon as I do, I can move my savefiles and profile and DLC and even console license over. Once that is done, it's play time for the first time in a long time. I can't describe how much I'm looking forward to it. Best part was I still using a standard definition tv with component outlets on all my playthroughs before this, which made it look as good as a game could possibly look in standard definition but was still a long way from HD. Now though, I got a perfectly calibrated 43 inch plasma tv that I've had for little over a year now. I can't wait to see how much better things look on this tv, considering how much better my PS3 games looked (that PS3 is how I've passed the time since my old 360 died).

on the second iteration of Sparks ME2 run, I have recruited everyone up to Jack. I also did Zaeed and Kasumi's loyalty missions which normally I don't do until later.

Interesting to note that the illusive paragon option in Zaeed's mission showed up just fine...and thank god cause he was ticking Sparks off. She punched him and yelled at him when he didn't want to save the people that were now in danger because of his stupidity. He didn't get to kill Vido but promised to stay focused for the mission, which is all Sparks wanted. Head canon that they shook hands and had a drink later to sort through it all.

Beckinstein is beautiful...something I'd never paid attention to but I do so love this loyalty mission...for obvious reasons. Sparks didn't mind the dress...she thought it showed off her curves better. I personally hate that damn dress because it is SO generic looking like really Bioware...that's the best you could do for Shepard? Whatev. Once Sparks realized Hock was exactly what Kasumi said he was, she had no problem killing him. The grey box was complicated...and until Shepard heard Keiji's words, she fully intended to let Kasumi keep it...if for nothing else, to protect the Alliance cause if Kasumi has managed to stay off the radar in a galaxy full of tech, certainly she can keep the secret in that box from the wrong eyes and ears right? But...he didn't want that...and in the end, Sparks didn't think it healthy that Kasumi seemed to cling to that so hard...she needed to move on and live. So they destroyed it...though Sparks wanted more time to play with it because this wasn't around the last time she was...alive. Still dealing with that...but still a NERD.

We're off to Horizon. Illusive Man claims the Collectors might be there...and that Ashley is there. Red flag for Sparks...and she knows the Illusive Man isn't telling her something. Nevertheless, Sparks and the crew have to investigate it. Let's get to it.

Everything is done, starting ME1 now. One problem though. I accidentally installed the 1.05 patch of ME3. So now I'm going to start getting the eye and voice sync glitches mentioned here.

http://forum.bioware...n-scenes/page-1

And I'd been doing so good at avoiding this glitch by staying on 1.04 until now. Dammit. I wish I could undo it and reapply the 1.04 patch. Well, I guess the romance scenes will be ruined now <_<.

Made it to Horizon...the Collectors already began kidnapping the colonists there by the time Sparks, Garrus, and Miranda landed. Testing out Mordin's seeker swarm repellant stuff was oddly exciting and terrifying for Sparks.

They found a couple of the colonists in some type of stasis mode...just frozen in place doing whatever they were doing once the Collectors landed. Couldn't help them and this really bothered Sparks. Also encountered husks like those on Eden Prime...except these seemed to be more intelligent. Only question Sparks had was where were they coming from? There's no dragon's teeth joints around...had to come from that ship...was that what the Collectors were doing to the other colonists...from other colonies?

Encountered a "being" that seemed to possess random Collectors...called itself Harbinger and was addresing Sparks directly. Whatever it is, she kept killing it whenever it appeared. Only found one colonist not in stasis...a mechanic hiding...deja vu much? He bore no love for the Alliance and Sparks just told him to stay out of the way.

Finally found those giant guns and recalibrated them. Had to hold a defensive position and fought another creature that seemed to have human skulls in it's mouth...creeeepy. They killed that too and EDI was able to get the guns online...drove the ship from the colony.

Just as Sparks wondered if she saved Ash on Virmire only for her to get kidnapped here, she appeared. Sparks and Ash were best friends...she was happy to see her...but Ash was mad. Irrationally mad. Sparks couldn't understand...Ash knew her almost as well as Liara...why the hell would she think she was with Cerebus for any reason other than helping the colonists?!? Especially since the Alliance wasn't doing jack ish about it...sans this colony. It didn't end well...Sparks was hurt and angry at Ash...that was her homie. Nothing like dying and coming back to life to find the galaxy on it's rear end...still. She let Ash have her moment...but they will talk. She's not willing to terminate their friendship over misinformation and shullbit. For now, she has to have several words with the Illusive Man...she can't promise that they won't all be expletives.

Off to Illium eventually...Sparks found out that's where Liara is working and living now. She...has no expectations...but she misses her dearly. =(

Finished my adept Jean Grey Shepard playthrough. It was good, but more ...light than I feel is appropriate for a good story. My rule was to keep all companions alive that could be saved, and while that added content, it gave a weaker story than my canon where characters actually died; and whose rule was to simply never pick a paragon persuasion. Also, playing paragon, there were far fewer stand-out moments than my canon renegade. The exceptions were the paragon w/ a renegade twist ending to the Onega DLC, which I thought was better than Aria kissing Shepard, and actually having Wrex around in the Citadel DLC; including a max guest party.

And Jean Grey was even less realistic than my ruthless Shepard. She seemed so perfect, so in control of her emotions while holding onto ideals despite the horrors occurring throughout the series... Plus, the "hell or high water" approach she always took always worked out ...because it is a game, and the game favors paragons. It made Shepard seem less an extremely capable soldier and more a gift sent from the ME gods to save the galaxy.

I've been playing Stellaris with ME races modded in. There's work being done on a Mass Effect total conversion, once it's done my dream of playing a MEU 4x game will be realized! The base game is quite suited to the MEU, it's even got extra galactic end game invaders that could easily be modded into Reapers. Anyone into space grand strategy should check it out.
