I've been playing the heck out of Stellaris, Hearts of Iron IV and Witcher 3 lately but have the ME bug today at work. I'm thinking starting up an ME2 run tonight with a broshep of all things, as I want to do the Tali romance. We'll see if my motivation continues throughout the day. ![]()

Sparks did finish ME2. I keep forgetting how fast I complete this game! The Engineer class made this, arguably, the fastest playthrough I've done. So just a few highlights:
-Every squad mate is loyal...somehow got that Renegade interrupt in Thane's loyalty mission that ends that part of it almost as fast as it begin. I have no idea how I pulled that off since most of my dialogue picks were Paragon
-Collectors are destroyed...Sparks did go full Renegade in responding to the Illusive Man on that last holo transmission. Seriously, f*ck that guy.
-Sparks sent David Archer to Grissom Academy. Considering she did this AFTER telling the Illusive Man to suck it, there is no real fall out from that choice. And why would there be? Leaving him with Cerberus has never felt right to me.
-Sparks killed 300,000+ Batarians to stop the Reapers from getting a sneak attack in on the entire galaxy. She was a little pissed at Admiral Hackett's friend, Kenson. She knew things would go FUBAR once she found that Reaper artifact sitting out in the open. Sparks is the hero of Elysium...but killing these Batarians...she hasn't slept well since. Batarians will want her head...she agreed to return to Earth when the time comes to stand trial.
-Helped Liara take down the Shadow Broker. She didn't do it just simply because of her feelings for Liara...Sparks sees the Shadow Broker as a threat...considering he tried to sell her body to the Collectors, it was definitely personal...she hadn't forgotten that phone call from one of his agents wanting data on Cerebus and her out right refusing to give it them. Yeah...it was personal. They(Liara and Miranda) decimated his lil security force...he was...not so little. A Yahg...an ugly creature with questionable fashion decisions(which i head canon that Sparks points out to him before they fight...she asks how much tighter his shirt can get ahahaha) and far too many teeth. Had to fight with just the right and left hand aka dumb merc beaters. Cybernetics man...cybernetics.Liara delivered the kill...and a kiss. Caught Sparks off guard but she missed those lips...gladly kissed her back.
-So they "talked" again. hehe. I know the game has you promise Liara, through humor or otherwise, that you're always coming back...but head canon...Sparks feels at some point she'll have to make an ultimate sacrifice...again...so she simply promised Liara she would fight like hell to come back every time...and that was enough.
-I think Sparks let go of that crush or whatever she was developing for Miranda. I'm not really sure if they're friends but there is a healthy respect between the two women.
Alright that's it. I'm importing her to ME3 because I'm craving the glory of tech explosions and other such pleasantries. Let's get to it.

They've got to work out a way to enable disc swapping in the emulating software they use I imagine.

Liara, Ash and I approached the Reaper base on Rannoch, and after finding out that Legion lied and was still carrying this f*cking Reaper code, we parted ways so it could provide a quick exit after we destroy the base. We met a lot of geth resistence, but in the end we made it to the blast shield and I targeted the base with Admiral Xen's syncing laser. What I woke up with that though was a damn Reaper. So much for a simple base...
We ran towards Legion and hopped inside a geth vehicle with a turret. I fired some shots at the Reaper, and with an orbital strike from the fleet it broke down, but it wasn't finished off. It was now or never. I got off the vehicle and with the help of the laser the quarian fleet was able to put that thing down. It tried to talk to me, but all it was spouting was some bullsh*t no normal being could ever understand. Just shut up. A few last precision shots took it down for good. We were done here.
Or so I thought. Of course Admiral Gerrel wouldn't stop firing now that the geth were powerless, and Legion made a proposition... If it uploaded its own Reaper upgrades, each geth would be a true individual, as strong and as smart as when they were hooked up to the Reaper. Are you f*cking kidding me, Legion? ANY connection to the Reapers is bad... and I'm sorry, but I will not risk these damn machines turning on us when we need them the most. Legion did not like my final decision, grabbed and tried to kill me, but Admiral Raan shot it in the back. Too bad it had to come to this, both sides did some crazy sh*t, but at least it's over now. Looking over Rannoch I realised only now what I had won the quarians back... it looked beautiful. Tali, this is for you.
It was time to return to the Citadel. I had a couple of things to take care of, and I wanted to meet up with Miranda and hang out with Ash a bit. We deserved it. There was also some Bryson guy Hackett wanted me to check out, and the asari councilor wanted to meet.
But first I delivered a few things we had picked up along the way, found Javik at the Embassy and then I actually met Zaeed again! Who'd have thought. I had a chat with James, who by the way got himself an N7 tattoo now, I talked to a batarian terrorist and switched off his life support for him, and dealt with another batarian afterwards. As*hole pulled a gun on me. I knew he couldn't shoot. Apparently being the one and only to unite the galaxy in this Reaper war is a pretty good reason to keep me alive. I got his ships. Nice.
I just wanted to quickly head back to the Normandy because I had forgotten something before visiting Bryson, when Wrex came out of the docking bay. He looked p*ssed. Sh*t.
He somehow had caught wind of the sabotage... damn it. I tried to explain, even though I knew he'd never accept it. He fired his gun, and I could just head out of the way and into cover in time. I saw the gun of a C-Sec guy Wrex had thrown out of the way earlier, but could I make it? It was so far away. I saw Bailey and another C-Sec officer move in onto Wrex and they shot at him, granting me the time to pick up the gun. I aimed and... couldn't pull the trigger. I felt guilt, the longer I looked at Wrex. My hands were shaking. I knew what I had done with the cure was right, but I didn't want it to end like this. Wrex was alright for a krogan... Bailey took the shot and I took a deep breath. I need a f*cking drink. Or ten.
Pic time!
Wow, just wow! A lot of wow
First because I played Priority Rannoch twice... after playing it once and dying 4 times at the 3 Primes, I actually had the idea to make use of Ash's Disruptor Ammo, and her and my grenades! Why had I not thought about that THE FIRST TIME?! Grah. Stupid. Then I also put points into Liara's Stasis to help me with the Primes. Should've maaaybe read that this doesn't work on armored targets, eh? No, why bother with reading, I found out eventually
In the end, the second run was more smooth at least at the Prime section, where I only died once. Though I did not even think about my grenades, or Ash's... oh well, panic mode and such. Either way, I think I learned a pretty good strategy for the future, even though I will try to never use squaddies without either good anti-shield abilities or hacking (Tali, I miss you so!) ![]()
Aaand after this and various side quests were done, it was time to see Wrex's entrance. Boy was it good! I loved the scene, and I mean it. I didn't even find it that sad, just... brilliant. They gave Shepard the option to lie further about the sabotage, or to admit they wanted salarian help or argue the other krogan weren't like Wrex. That last one fit my Shepard like a glove, I was so happy about that. And then, not taking the Renegade interrupt to take the gun, oooh was it good! Wrex taunting if Ash is not around to do the dirty work, HELL YES, I loved that! Ooooh, these dialogues sometimes ![]()
I'm so excited to see what they do in terms of dialogue options in Andromeda, what we know so far sounds even better than what we got with the Trilogy. I hope there will be lots of different options and outcomes!

You may already know this but are you aware of the claymore reload trick? That makes it much better. It is the most badass shotgun, but not always the most practical. ARNOLD uses it because of the former.

I was debating whether I wanted to go with a mattock and eviscerator combo or a locust and claymore combo. I have done both types of vanguards but since the emphasis is more on the shotgun with this class I will go for the claymore. The locust can still handle stuff at range for situations where I have to fight at range. But for close might as well go with the most powerful shotgun. Plus it makes me feel krogan. With that said when I import into ME 3 I will probably use an assault rifle and shotgun combo. The SMGs in ME 3 just don't do it for me. Guess I got spoiled by the ME 2 version of the Locust.

My biggest issue with the ME3 claymore is that it is so damn heavy. Overall, in both ME2 and ME3, I think the geth plasma shotgun is the best. I never use it on vanguards though because it just does not feel right.

The Geth Plasma Shotgun does not feel like a shotgun. Sometimes I use it with soldiers or sentinels but when I play as a vanguard I want that "shotgun feel".

She was retrieved from her cell by a guy named James...and at this stage, i'm wondering just who he is and why I should care. Took her to meet with her superiors and ran into Captain...excuse me, Admiral Anderson on the way. No longer a Councillor, he told Sparks something big was happening and she already knew...the Reapers had come. She also bumped into Ashley...Lt. Commander Williams, as it were. They didn't get to talk much but it was good to see her.
After talking with the Alliance leaders, a Reaper showed up and created a sh*tstorm of chaos. Everyone in that room was dead...except Anderson and Sparks. They had to haul ass outside of the building and try to get to the Normandy. The scene on the ground below was nuts! You literally saw people running for their lives! Fought through husks, cannibals, and broken glass. Found a "duct rat" hiding...Sparks wanted to save the kid but he disappeared in the vent shaft...weird. Held a defensive position for extraction...Sparks left...but Anderson elected to stay behind and help...He reinstated Sparks and told her to get help from the Council.
Admiral Hacket diverted the Normandy to Mars...where Prothean research and your favorite Prothean expert's favorite Prothean expert were waiting. Cerberus was on Mars...the hell are they doing here? Ashley raised an eyebrow and asked if Sparks knew why. Yeah...she's still on that shullbit. Sparks simply asked for her trust but before they could discuss it further, in comes Liara...escaping from Cerebus troops who apparently can't shoot fish in a bucket. Liara caught them in a Singularity and capped them both. Sexy.
Found that the Protheans had plans for a device to stop the Reapers...now we have to stop Cerebus from getting their nasty hands on it. Beat the stuffing out of the troops only to get to the data and the Illusive Man appears...and Sparks didn't care to talk with him...every reply was Renegade and no f*cks were given. One of his agents stole the data while Sparks talked to him. She gave chase and the agent almost got away. James crashed into the shuttle stopping it and damn near killing Shepard, Ashley, and Liara. That was pretty reckless!
That "agent" turned out to be a Cerberus synthetic...it grabbed Ashley by the helmet and smashed her head like a ragdoll against a downed vehicle...Sparks took it down. This is not good. Sparks had to swallow her emotions to focus on the larger picture.
So...Ashley is down...we got the data back...headed to the Citadel to get Ash help and help for Earth...and the Reapers are killing everything moving. It's everything Sparks feared...and none of what she expected. Let's hope the Council actually wants to help for a change because this is already too much to deal with.
(Three Six Zero got a makeover somewhat lol)

finished Tuchanka. Eve is dead, and reneShep enjoyed talking with Dalatrass Linron , careful diplomacy .
So he deceived Wreav, got their support and won't have to worry about Krogans afterward ( not to mention he'll be dead sort of, and will miss the Ark for Andromeda , bummer ).
Anyway, Mordin is off to the Crucible now and Shep needs to talk to the big sissies hiding in the deeps.

Today Kevin went to sunny Tuchanka and fought a Thresher Maw on foot, wiped out clan weyrloc and kept Maelon's genophage data. Of course Kevin also caught up with his old friend Wrex. Got to say I was glad I went with the Claymore with this vanguard. It was very satisfying finishing off Uvenk with it right when he was about to charge at me.

So like I said in my previous post I did the Tuchanka stuff earlier today, well this evening I did Thane's loyalty mission, walked my dogs, Garrus's loyalty mission, and Jack's loyalty mission. Just have Tali's loyalty mission left. Still have a ton of game left though, I backlog most of the DLC toward the end of the game and I plan on starting a romance with Jack. Still that was five loyalty missions in one day. Six years later and I still can't get enough of ME 2.

I did a playthrough of Mass Effect 3 (without going through the first two games again). I don't think I've played the SP campaign for... at least a year. I also purshased the Genesis comic book thingy.. it wasn't at all as detailed as the Dragon Age keep tapestries. Oh well.
I romanced Garrus and chose Synthesis. I had to press ESC and think about which choice to make. I had almost maximum assets and galactic readiness from multiplayer, however, I somehow failed to save Miranda and Eve. I forgot the repercussions of not saving Maelon's data
I swore I tried to talk to Miranda every single time, and I mentioned Kai Leng to her in the Spectre office on the Citadel. Not sure what I was missing. Honestly the biggest drawback was that she wasn't there at my party.
Another drawback of a run-through without playing the first two games was no Kasumi Goto or Zaeed, and somehow, with them gone, the Citadel DLC party formations and possible squadmate groups in the apartment....failed to produce the "SHEPUUURRD" "SHEEPAARRDD" Grunt/Wrex scene, even though both of them were at my party. Or perhaps I was supposed to just select a certain mood with Glyph for that scene to trigger...
I still can't find the name of the song that plays in combat at Cision Motors. It isn't the Christmas-y jingly song. It's the alternative rock background music that plays after it. I have no idea! Can't find it on the soundtrack or on Youtube, anywhere.

Also I had no idea how much and how explicitly Garrus mentions sex with Commander Shepard omg
So awkward and amusing. I guess I have more Thanemance playthroughs than Garrusmance playthroughs. I definitely didn't remember both James Vega and Kaidan having crushes on me in previous playthoughs. Kaidan straight-up told me he had feelings for me in the Presidium Commons, and I was like "you know I'm with Garrus, right...?" and then we had to awkwardly finish our lunch. =/ And James Vega came to my apartment and was like, "I'm not making this awkward for you and Garrus, am I?" and proceeded to take off his shirt to show his tattoo - right. And also, there was a shot of Vega jealously beholding Garrus and me dancing in the Silver Coast scene.
Default ME3 female Shepard has so many admirers.

Right, so, viewing the ME 3 ending after a really long time from 'refreshed' eyes.... star child isn't even my greatest concern. My greatest concerns were the laziness of slapping a layer of 'green chip wiring' on everything in the synthesis ending, and the Normandy evac in front of the Harbinger beam.

Yesterday I finished up Vega's dialogue for Priority: Rannoch ![]()
I found it interesting that after defeating the 3 Primes, there's a conversation in which EDI asks what will happen to the geth after severing the connection, and Kaidan mentions how the quarians' hands are not entirely clean in this.
After the mission and if Kaidan is not present, James also refers to the Rannoch outcome depending on whether you sided with the quarians, the geth or were able to achieve peace. Pretty nice!
Here's the video ![]()
Also, fighting against these 3 Primes over and over was actually quite easy with James and whoever. More practice can never hurt
