I love the GPS with Vanguards as i can time the charge to follow the plasma bolts in or feed them a full burst after the charge. It's just plain fun. I don't like the Claymore because it doesn't forgive mistakes.

I find with heavy charge it negates the likely hood of making mistakes since it slows things down coming out of it.  More than enough time to get the shot off and since you are using the claymore at close range that means insta kill.   I also think the Claymore is more effective in the hands of a vanguard than in the hands of a soldier.  Soldiers use shotguns on a situational basis while with vanguards cqc is their bread and butter.

From what I understand from other players on these forums, Miranda will always die from a non-import (or if Miranda was unloyal at the end of ME2).

I managed to get about half the crew recruited over the weekend in ME2, finished off with Zaeed's mission (paragon outcome) after Horizon. I should get to the Collector Ship later tonight. Also, I popped in the MEA board, what a toxic heap of a forum. It exceeds this one in nastiness and trolling from it's worst days following the ending debacle.

No one is arguing that the GPS isn't practical. It just doesn't feel right for me if playing a vanguard. The claymore's high risk-high reward scenario goes well with the vanguard's playstyle, and it's inferiority (but badassery) in comparison to the GPS adds some challenge.

I've never taken the claymore. Why? Because I've always found assault rifles to simply be better for vanguards (and the widow and revenant better for soldiers than the claymore). Only ones I've picked shotgun on was infiltrator, and only because my viper sniper rifle was already good enough for mid to long range and I wanted something for up close encounters (and of course, claymore isn't choosable in that case).

Maybe I have been on these board for too long but they don't seem that bad over there at the moment.  There has been a bit of trolling but mostly I see speculating and brainstorming.  Though I wish they had shown more at EA play they did show enough to wet my appetite.  Some of the morsels of info from interviews have also helped my hype factor.

I don't think the claymore is inferior if you use it right.  Now maybe I have been playing smarter but it seems like my vanguard has been more effective since I picked up the claymore.  I was using the evicerator before I got the claymore.  In some ways the eviscerator is like a mini claymore.  Btw does anybody know the correct spelling for that cerberus shotgun?  I never seem to spell it right.

My canon Shepard uses the eviscerator in both ME2 and ME3 for two reasons. First, she is a vanguard so it feels right. Second, she is a woman and the eviscerator's smaller size seems more fitting.

I do find the eviscerator a safer option than the claymore, but less badass. In ME2, the fire/punch/fire alteration and greater clip capacity is more reliable than the claymore's reload trick. In ME3, it is much lighter; the only real edge it has over the GPS.

In ME3, the GPS' biggest contender I think is the Venom shotgun, which like the GPS, does not feel like a shotgun at all and is pretty cheap. Some like the piranha, but I dislike rapid fire weapons which is why I never touch assault rifles. I like weapons that rely on one decisive hit.

In ME 3 I think I am going to go with the eviscerator and then the wraith when I can afford it.  I will use that with an assault rifle.  The claymore is heavy and none of ME 3's smgs do it for me.  Also for some reason I always found the eviscerator to be the most aesthetically pleasing shotgun.

Finally finished watching capn233's ME3 Let's Play. I am about ready to jump back into playing the series again, but I might wait until the weekend.

Annoyed. I didn't flirt with Kelly earlier in ME2, so that probably means no fish feeding. Which means my fish will likely die because of how you have to feed them probably every 10 minutes or they die, and I'll probably forget anyway. Also, this means she won't give my fish back in ME3 even if I buy fish in ME2 and keep then alive since partially romancing her in ME2 is needed for her to do that in ME3.

In short, this sucks. Missed the "I'd embrace you" dialogue option? No fish for you.

I think I almost cried the first time I went up to my cabin in ME2 and my fish were dead. :crying: Now, I obsessively feed them, heading back to the cabin after every mission, no matter how short or long of a trip it was. So now if they die, it will be from eating too much rather than too little. :P

I found out there is an automatic fish-feeding, tank-cleaning device you can install in ME3 :D available in one of the shops in the Presidium Commons. I never had fish in ME2 because no one fed them

Today I was reminded that even completing side missions will open more conversations with your squad on the Normandy in ME1. Because I never had a romance in ME1 before (specifically with Liara), the conversation with Liara (the second one that starts the romance) appeared early, and took me by surprise. I only completed Therum, and three UNC missions so far. I haven't even started Feros.

I tried to get the human feeder.  :P  But I sorta missed out some cues so I didn't get her in the recent PT.

Another friend lost. How many had gone already? Faces flashed by Shepard. The companies she had served with and lost in years past and more recently, Ash, Mordin, Thane. Now Legion. There would be more. How many? She didn't want to think about that. She could only hope they would still have the strength to fight when they reached that crucial point. Time was against them. She could feel it. Hurry, hurry. A voice whispered.

Haha, the one time I tried feeding my fish in ME2 before one mission and then immediately afterwards again they also died on me! I actually thought you can overfeed them. If that's not the case then I will try it out in my next run again, maybe it was just bad timing :D

Continued with Idan last night :)

After my encounter with Wrex I sat down in the Port Observation Deck and poured me a few drinks. Ah, I needed that. I fell asleep at some point and dreamt of Jack. Wish she could be here. I woke up with my head on the table... A quick shower was great, and I hoped that no one smelled my little drinking spree.

I went out to see Dr. Bryson before talking to the asari councilor, but things quickly got out of hand and I never made it to her. Dr. Bryson told me about their project, that they investigate rumours and old stories about the Reapers and that they discovered some interesting information. I was just checking out a data pad when suddenly Bryson's assistant shot him. What the hell? I tackled him and called C-Sec. EDI also came by and we tried to figure out what just happened here. The assistant claimed he did not shoot, and I obviously did not believe him as I saw he just did, until... he started to talk weirdly and lost consciousness. EDI had mentioned before it resembles indoctrination. Yeah... sh*t.

There is a strange artifact in the middle of the lab the assistent mentioned before he lost it, and EDI and I watched a conversation between Hackett and Bryson about Leviathan... What is this thing? Bryson mentioned that it killed a Reaper, so either it's very dangerous, or very helpful...

EDI and I pieced together clues in order to find a research partner of the doc, Dr. Garneau. He was the one who had sent the artifact. We need to talk to him.

We could pinpoint his location and went there right away. He was on an asteroid with a mining facility, and together with Liara and Ash I entered the facility, but not before taking care of a couple of Reapers in front of it. They must want Leviathan as much as we do.

When we walked in, the looks on the workers' faces sent shivers down my spine. Something is very wrong here... Ash and Liara felt it too. Under the observant eyes of the personnel we looked for Garneau, reading bits and pieces from the miners and eventually gaining access to the Medical Bay. Garneau was here. Good. But something was not right with him either. Just like Bryson's assistant he went mad, smashed his room window and fled outside. We had to deal with more Reaper forces, but eventually we caught up and entered another part of the facility. In there... Garneau and another artifact. And he blew it up, himself included. Geez.

Ash found a data pad and the actual Dr. Garneau lying dead on the floor next to her. Ash also found data about a Dr. Ann Bryson, his daughter. Mh, she could be a lead...

I questioned the personnel here and what I discovered was horrifying. They were influenced by this artifact for 10 years. 10 f*cking years. This is some crazy sh*t.

We returned to the Citadel right away and EDI and I were able to locate Ann thanks to more clues in Bryson's lab. There was no time to waste and we headed to the Pylos Nebula without further delays. What the hell is this Leviathan thing?

Pictuuuure time!

Spoiler

Died at the 2 Banshees when chasing Garneau, that was expected  The second attempt went better. I always try and abandon my squaddies so the Banshees focus on them and I can shoot them from a safe distance :D It worked for one, the other came close, but Mattock dealt with her quickly.

I also think there was a bug with Ash's ammo. At some point Ash didn't have Cryo ammo anymore but her own Disruptor. Didn't notice until the part when you have to guide the drone -_-

Trying to fix. Turns out that you can pick that investigate option and do the "embrace you" line after your first talk. Thing is, it takes a certain number of flirts to get the fish feeding. So I have to hope that I didn't do it too late, and that I did it soon enough. Usually I get her feeding my fish upon getting back from the Collector ship, that's when you get the "date". If I haven't gotten that date scene after the Collector ship like usual, then I'm probably screwed. I know I already missed one flirt option earlier, I didn't have the option of asking for a hug after you recruit Garrus and she says she wants to hug him.

ARNOLD Shepard, the 100% renegade, continues into ME3. After overloading the reactor and kissing Aria in Omega, he has to choose between Tali and Liara. There was not much opportunity to be a "playa" up until this point sadly. Samantha shot him down, Allers flirted a little, and Liara gave him a peck on the cheek. Save some for the bedroom, T'soni... Jeez... At least Tali let him remember they had something, so he chose her. Liara instantly found out because she has zero respect for other people's privacy, and ARNOLD brought them both onto the dreadnought in the hopes of a catfight!

Created a new character for ME3,  Used Gibbed to give vanguard Jay Shepard a romance with Kaidan in ME1, even though ME1 doesn't allow it.  The new dialogue pleases me.  Jay fled Earth after the Reaper invasion, met up with Liara on Mars, found best bud Garrus on Menae, found it unbelievable that the dalatross thought I'd side with her against my pal Wrex, and teamed up with Grunt on Utukku against the indoctrinated Rachni, Jay, Garrus and Liara are about to rescue a turian squad who has stupidly gotten themselves trapped on Tuchanka.

I did almost every Citadel Assignment in ME1, AND I've been waiting patiently for a certain conversation to appear.

I have hit a bit of a problem in ME1. This has been the latest romance conversation I've had with Liara:

https://www.youtube....h?v=ONEjVuo7yCw

The problem is that I have been waiting for the 3rd conversation to come along, and after doing several UNC Missions, it still isn't available. What's going on? I'm not pursuing a relationship with Ashley. I made sure that didn't happen.

This is supposed to be the 3rd conversation:

https://www.youtube....h?v=EyD7KVP1-FY

If there's anyone here who pursued a romance with Liara, what am I doing wrong? I checked in a few times after some of the missions. I haven't even gone to Feros yet. I am busy leveling up with UNC Missions. It's pretty bad if I'm being punished for something I didn't know about.

Well I've only done Liara's romance with my very first Shepard, but I think that the key scenes are always after the main missions. So try to complete Feros and see if you get your next step there. I believe the side missions do not count at all to advance a romance :)

Last night Kevin helped Tali get out of the mess she was in with the Migrant Fleet and now Kevin is pursuing a relationship with Jack.   It's funny even though Jack is more or less a renegade character it is more satisfying pursuing her romance with a paragon Shepard.

Riker Shepard (my paragade Vanguard) continued on in ME2. Collector ship down, got me my Mattock! Did Miranda's and Tali's loyalties. Picked up Thane real late, half the loyalties are done and we're about 3 missions past the Collector Ship. Still have plenty of side missions and all the DLC, though I'll keep LOTSB and Arrival for post-SM. Riker and Tali are drawing closer. It's a little heartbreaking when you tell Jack you're not interested, but seriously Jack you need to work out some issues before getting involved in a relationship. I'd like to see Miranda's face when she hears about the Commander choosing Tali over her. :D
