I take it you are going with the Mattock GPS combo then?
Oh yeah, I'm a wrecking ball. Did the final bridge sequence for Thane's recruitment without using any cover, it was intense and permanently 'in the red'.

When we arrived at the dig site Ann Bryson was at, we already saw the place was overrun by Reaper forces. Crap. We saw Ann, but there was no way to land there, so Steve dropped us off a bit below and tried to get rid of a few following Harvesters while we made our way to Ann. Reaper resistance was heavy, but we got to her quite fast. Ann led us to the artifact she had uncovered, but those Reaper f*cks were already at it. Somehow they had activated it, then the artifact took control of Ann and I ordered my team to shoot at it. Ash destroyed it and we faced the last resistance of Reaper troops before making it to the shuttle and getting the hell out of here. I had to tell Ann her father was dead... it wasn't pretty. She wanted to see his lab, so I offered to arrange transport for her and said I'd meet her later on.
Back in the lab Ann had made up her mind to let Leviathan take control of her via the artifact so we could track it down. James, who was here as well - and probably not for all the fancy stuff in the lab... except... maybe the husk head - raised his concerns about this. I was with him, but Ann insisted. Alright, then let's do this. As soon as EDI had the first partial lock, James activated the shields again to sever the connection and Ann was safe. Good. That went better than expected.
We immediately got ready to find the location of this Leviathan. A scan of the planet Despoina was successful, and Steve took Ash, Liara and me down there with the shuttle. Things went a little crazy, as some kind of pulse hit us just before we could land on a... yeah, whatever it was... a wreck of some sort. Everything was surrounded by water and we crash-landed on what little 'land' was there. We investigated the place a bit while Steve looked after the shuttle, but suddenly Reaper forces appeared. Figures.
We took care of them and Steve gave support in the now repaired shuttle, but the pulse hit him again. Sh*t, so we're trapped here unless we find Leviathan, who has some good defenses, that's for sure.
Steve suggested I'd take one of the diving mechs around here to find Leviathan underwater. Well damn, absolutely nuts, but what choice did we have?
I made the dive... and I actually did find Leviathan... it was huge. It was impressive. And it looked like a Reaper. We talked and I found out that its race is indirectly responsible for the Reapers. That they created an intelligence which in return created an army of thralls that eventually slaughtered the Leviathans and made the first Reaper out of them. One I know very well. Harbinger...
Well, can't say I was happy to hear all that, but the good thing is that Leviathan joined the war. I got back to the surface and after we escaped with the shuttle, we already saw what Leviathan was capable of. A Reaper approached and it was taken down without any effort. It just... landed in the ocean and probably drowned. Ha, this is gonna be good.

Ash's Disruptor Ammo!
She again used it at some point instead of my Squad Cryo Ammo... I restarted and respecced her, now she doesn't have her own ammo anymore, ha! Take that, Ash. I'm rarely annoyed playing ME3, but this... oh well. It's all sorted now.
Died one time during the Power socket section, but other than that it went quite smooth.
Kevin is just flying around the galaxy doing some minor quests. Wipe out a blood pack base here, take out some Geth in the hammer head there, pursue the nutty biotic down in the engineering subdeck, and I did finish upgrading the Normandy. Going to do a bit more running around before I check out project overlord.
Also popped in ME 3 for some MP action. Mostly human and asari adepts and vanguards.
Managed a few hours last night: Started the relationship with Tali. I know it's ridiculous, but she's just too adorable not to romance occasionally. Helped Samara take down Morinth then did a N7 cruise, cleaning up the assignments on the map. I really like those little missions, especially the ones involving reaper relics and the like. It actually feels like you're doing some good for the effort.
I really hope ME:A returns to having these little unique missions, I know they are just like the arena style ones from ME3 but they have more heart and soul. Or maybe that's just me. Tonight I expect to finish off the remaining loyalties, then maybe complete Firewalker and Overlord.

I always thought ME 2 had the best little sidequests in the series. ME 1's had good stories but repetitve copy and paste gameplay, ME 3's tied back into the main story nicely but they felt like few and far between and were mainly MP previews. With Andromeda they have a chance to take these off the beaten path sidequests and take them too a whole new level since it will fit Andromeda's theme the most.

ME1's were great even with the repetition. They could tell stories with the skyboxes. I'm looking forward to the return of exploration as well.
Adept Shepard on insanity...
Started ME3 with the bonus power of 'flare' because who doesn't like a massive biotic explosion to destroy everything in sight
.
Shepard has honed his biotic skills to be more powerful and hence this is why he can all of a sudden use 'flare'. He is now a walking man of destruction.
Since the events of sacrificing thousands of Batarians, Shepard decided to have a siesta on Vancouver for a couple of months to take his mind off the Reapers. He was scheduled to have a monotonous meeting with the Defence Committee and prepared some cheesy one liners beforehand (e.g. "we fight or we die"
). Luckily, the Reapers interceded to liven things up. Shepard didn't like the fact that the Reapers are trying to steal the show so he took the fight to them in his casualwear. I increased the 'flare' ability to level 5 because I wanted to see the fireworks early
.
Anderson and Shepard travelled across the warzone together to summon the Normandy from the heavens. On the way, Anderson wanted Shepard to shoot some husks with some ammo. Shepard thought that this was a waste, especially when you're a biotic wrecking ball. He used 'flare' instead, Anderson was a taskmaster though as he wouldn't let Shepard proceed any further until he used the primitive firepower
.
Eventually, they both got to the Normandy. Shepard will now make a pit stop to Mars.
'Leaving Earth' is one of my favourite themes of the trilogy
.
Next up: Mars
Yeah, so I somehow ended up starting two new games in Mass Effect 3 (both NG+), even though I plan to start a trilogy playthrough this weekend. I guess I started these games for a later date that may never come. Who knows.
1. Pistol-SMG Soldier Erin Shepard awoke in Vancouver from her strange dream, wherein she had saved the galaxy from the Reapers but barely fired her gun. Long story short: the Pistol-SMG Soldier is back, packing the Punisher in one hand, and the Executioner in the other. Or as she calls them: Pain and Death.
I stopped at the end of Mars before the actual archives and Eva. I made a save before the workbench. I might go back and try out a few Pistol-SMG combinations before continuing, but I like the Blood Pack theme. I made sure to equip Kaidan and Liara with Blood Pack/Krogan weapons as well: Punisher and Executioner for Liara, and Executioner and Striker for Kaidan.
2. In an alternate universe, Jen Shepard had been a Slam Soldier (and briefly a Lash Soldier). In this alternate timeline, Jen Shepard is now a Flare Soldier. I stopped at the beginning on Mars, at the Mantis pickup.
I am not sure how I plan to play this Flare Soldier. With the Flare Infiltrator I used Cryo Ammo, but that worked because Cloak's 3-second cooldown would override Flare's ridiculously long cooldown. With the Flare Soldier, you are stuck using Flare during a power duration followed by a cooldown so I will probably go with mostly Incendiary Ammo instead, although I may experiment a little with Cryo Ammo. I know Vazgen tested out a Flare Soldier in this video. I might repeat what he did.
Before we headed back to the Citadel so I could finally meet the asari councillor, we traveled to Utukku in order to meet up with Aralakh Company. I know Wrex is gone, and it's been a while since he told me about it, but since there were rachni rumours, I decided we should see to it. We were close anyway, so why not. We touched down and I was surprised to see that the leader of Aralakh Company was Grunt. We caught up a little and then Liara, Ash and I went on to investigate the tunnels. We were not long in when we came across some strange pods, and soon enough the first Rachni, changed into Reaper creatures, showed up. We proceeded through the tunnels and killed more of these things, meeting up with Grunt and the others after a while. My team and I took a different rout and suddenly found ourselves surrounded by strange Reaper tech. Oh, and more of their little mooks. We made a final push and then there it was right in front of... a rachni queen?! How is this possible? The one I killed on Noveria was supposedly the last one. Talking to that thing we found out though that this was the Reapers' doing as well... dangerous. I think she tried to get me to free her, but no way this was gonna happen. I radioed Grunt to get us out of here so we could leave this damn nest. I'm fed up with rachni...
We ran through the tunnels, but at some point found ourselves surrounded by several of those creeps. Grunt insisted on being the diversion so we could get out... I didn't really know what to say. And with one final look at Grunt we ran.
We made it out safely and I told Steve we were the last ones out, but as I was looking over my shoulder, a bloody, exhausted krogan showed up. Grunt had made it! I ran towards him to support him and get him to the shuttle. Well, that was another fun trip now, wasn't it. Can't wait to see what else there's in store for us.
Some pictures:
Well, I was hoping that Grunt would have some lines about Wrex, but maybe that was still too early
Does anyone know if Grunt finds out Wrex is dead?
The mission itself went pretty smooth, and I will likely play through it again next time to get Ash's and Vega's dialogue ![]()
Also, I think I have a problem. My EMS is getting too high

Polished up most of the loyalties, got Thane (Paragon), Garrus (Paragade: let Garrus wound Harkin, left Sidonis to his misery), Kasumi (Paragade: Shot the urn, let Kasumi keep Graybox) Grunt (Paragade - head butted Worf, took 'If I know Grunt, your answer is coming at muzzle velocity) and Mordin (Paragon, spared Mordin's apprentice and saved the data) Only Jacob's is left now. Poor Jacob, I almost always do his last as I don't care for it too much. Now most ME2 lore doesn't survive Fridge Logic moments, but Jacob's trips up on a tangle of bad retcons that we all know.
I wish ME2 was better in telling you what you did in a save you are importing. I've got ones going back years and can't remember most of them.

Open them up in gibbed and you can see all the variables.
What I do whenever I start another run is to use a tool I created in the form of a txt file.
I listed everything that can be done in a game. As I progress, I simply go erasing whatever I did or what I don´t want to do. So I can keep track of everything. I did this for every mission, upgrade of interest, side-quest or any fact that is relevant.

Only once you've imported and a save has been created. That takes longer than the guess work of the import screen, since you don't have to go through the long opening section.

That to me would reduce the game to a check list. I fight my completionist nature all the time, a document would just make things drag.

Sorry I misunderstood, I thought you meant ME2->ME3 imports
Well today Kevin went to a system where Cerberus hooked some guy up to the geth and they got loose and killed all of their guys, well Kevin blew up the geth and took the guy that they hooked up to them and sent him to Grissom Academy. Kevin also got some medical advice from Mordin for him and Jack.
Did the last loyalty mission that isn't Tali's, which was Garrus'. Did every single N7 sidequest in ME2. Then did Overlord. All Liara sidequests and then Lair of the Shadow Broker is for tomorrow, I find it flows better to do all the terminal hacking and dialogue with Liara just before LotSB, makes the continuity stronger. Also, finishing stuff with the Cain is amazing and you really should try it. The explosion persists even in cutscenes, which means things like destroying David's Geth network bubble thing look and sound REALLY COOL. Or better yet, finish the Proto Reaper by literally shooting it in the face with the Cain. It is the most epic thing in the series, the explosion looks absolutely flawless in cutscene and makes its death a lot more amazing. You ask me, finishing that boss with simple gunfire or power usage is rather underwhelming after seeing what killing it with a Cain looks like. You might have to weaken it a lot first though, especially on insanity. But it's worth seeing it practically getting its face blown off in the cutscene afterward. Might be good to wear every heavy ammo increasing armor and get the extra heavy ammo upgrade from Zaeed's mission, because that gets you enough total ammo to be able to shoot the Proto Reaper twice. That will make it easier to finish with it once you think it's weak enough, if it survives the first then just blast it with a second shot.
Ah, I do love that weapon. Yeah, you can only fire it once in a while with its ammo requirement. But every time you fire it, it's SOOOO worth the wait it needed for you to get enough heavy ammo again for it. There's a reason it's the weapon on Shepard's back for most of my playthrough (only ever switch it out for the arc projector on certain Geth missions).
On that note, last playthrough? I actually fired the Cain into the Proto Reaper's mouth and (I assume) down its throat. That was even cooler, the fire from the explosion was literally blasting out of its mouth as it died. I normally aim for the center of the head since it's an easier target, but that time it decided to sit still for a little longer than usual. Decided that was a good time to try aiming for somewhere a little more badass.

Holy crap I want that.
I have spreadsheets where I list some of the decisions I make, but maybe a file like that where I can erase stuff would be more simple...it must've taken a lot of work tho.
Vanguard is amazing. I just beat the Shadow Broker on insanity in close quarters combat, just shotgunning and punching right in his face. Didn't even take cover during the fight.
I found these today.

Got that mod as well, the Mass Effect total conversion is coming along as well.
Is that the Homeworlds mod?
Today Kevin wiped out some Blue Suns mercs and then stopped Batarian terrorists from blowing up a colony, he couldn't stop them from destroying the spaceport though. Well now he has to go get that Reaper IFF, he has done all he can to prepare both the ship and the crew for the fight against the collectors.
Is that the Homeworlds mod?
It's for Stellaris. A strategy game set in space. The race of choice, the chars, the ships, the fleets can be renamed.
I'm not going to name any frigate Normandy though. Intruder Alert! Alliance 5th fleet! Intercept! ![]()

Came to the section where I enjoyed the first part. The rest of this exasperating mission was a loony tune of a nutter's idea of a tea party.
