What did you do today in the Mass Effect trilogy

I'm addicted to the Multiplayer. I'm still figuring out how the packs work, so as to have a better arsenal and more reserves. I'm tired of dying all the time and my fingers hurt from frantically smashing the mouse button just to kill ONE enemy.

This should go into the Multiplayer thread. The packs are RNG. If you're just looking for ammo and  grade III mods, go for the veteran pack. A grade III mod is always given.

If you're looking for better weapons or the ultra rare weapons or grade 4 ammo / kits or the class you don't have, it's the premium, arsenal and reserves packs. They all cost the same so it's a matter of what the spinning wheel will drop for you. I spent like 5-6 million credits to get the Cerberus Harrier X and that was only when I had racked up over 18 million credits to try for it.

If you just want to stock up on gels, shield regen kits, etc, it's either the veteran or jumbo equipment pack.

Maybe you should add this info to the "the things you just discovered" topic.

Honestly, this really makes no sense whatsoever. If Mordin had already left instructions so that the recording should be sent to Shepard in case he (mordin) died, it would be of no consequence if they had a disagreement of any sort while on the surface, even if it resulted with Shepard executing him.

Well, unless if during the elevator trip he somehow accessed his files on an omni tool connected to the extranet and decided to delete the message.  ;) (worst case of head-canoning ever!)

Well, technically, I did not "just" discover this. I have shot Mordin before, but thought I would share my quandary here this time around. I actually think the datapad showing up even if you shot him could add more emotional guilt, especially if it included a sort of personal farewell message to Shepard ...if shooting him actually bothered you.

Adept Shepard on insanity...

Shepard went to Mars to the Prothean Archives and as soon as he landed, he learned that the new Shadow Broker likes to play in vents. These Prothean Archives hold vital information to destroy the Reapers. Shepard fought through Cerberus into the heart of the facility. The Illusive Man popped up into the conversation and Shepard tried to convince him to become an ally in the war. TIM wasn't having any of this though because he wasn't impressed with the Collector Base destruction. Shepard was then going to download the data and everything was going to plan but then oh my goodness, a runaway android tried to make a quick getaway with the information. Eva made her escape with all fires blazing and Shepard wasn't able to catch up with her because he isn't a marathon runner (and he might have had side stitch as well). James had a plan to take everything out in his way and this just made Eva mad. She arose like a phoenix and began to pound Kaidan's head against the shuttle (while Shepard looked on in shock from the side-lines  <_<). This probably makes me sound like a sadist but I really like this scene :D. Shepard escaped Mars in the nick of time as the Reapers just started to touch down.

The next stop was the Citadel to try and convince the council to help. Shepard met Diana Allers and he refused to let her board the Normandy. He'd rather watch Al Jilani's new station instead (It was a good feeling to refuse her though :P). Shepard then dropped by the hospital to talk to an unconscious Kaidan. Dr Chakwas is back on the Normandy as well.

Stopped by the embassies to speak to the council. The old council was killed off in the Sovereign attack and this was the first time to talk with the new council. This new council were just as awkward as their predecessors and offered no help whatsoever. The Turian councillor offered some ray of hope by reinstating his spectre status and he asked Shepard to rescue the Primark. Before Shepard left, he had a chat with his favourite reporter. Shepard realised that her hard hitting journalism can be a valuable asset in these trying times and deep down she cares about the war effort. Al Jilani became a war asset after some nice words of encouragement.

All this excitement made Shepard have a bad dream.

He's currently exploring the Normandy and then he'll go to Menae.

I only played multiplayer because single player is for scrubs.

Oh, God. I'm turning into one of them!

i started playing SP recently again after a long hiatus. Probably after seeing Andromeda trailers which made me miss the ME universe a bit.

It's a good change from :  " mission scrubbed, we're out of here"

DOCTOR BURNSIDE: I want to talk to you about Virmire.
NICOLE SHEPARD: Of course you do.

BURNSIDE: When you made it to the Salarian base camp, what did he tell you?
SHEPARD: That they had found Saren's base of operations, and that he was breeding an army of Krogan. Seems he may have discovered a cure for the genophage.

BURNSIDE: The genophage. The biological weapon deployed by the Turians during the Krogan rebellions to sterilize the Krogan.
SHEPARD: I see you did your homework. Good for you.

BURNSIDE: And I understand you had a Krogan on your team.
SHEPARD: Wrex.

BURNSIDE: And he was not happy to hear of the plan to destroy the base.
SHEPARD: That's putting it mildly.

BURNSIDE: Then what happened?
SHEPARD: You know what happened.

BURNSIDE: I want to hear it from you.
SHEPARD: Fine. I went to go talk to Wrex, try to convince him that destroying the base was the best course of action, even if it destroyed the cure in the process.

BURNSIDE: And then?
SHEPARD: He got angry. He shouted, then I shouted, then we drew our weapons. It escalated out of my control. Luckily, Ashley Williams shot him dead before things really went bad.

BURNSIDE: Do you feel bad that you had to kill him? I understand he was a valuable member of your crew.
SHEPARD: No, I do not feel bad at all. He was a useful member of the crew, but not valuable. He was instrumental in helping me stop a Geth incursion and a slavery ring, but Liara and Kaidan were much more indespensible to my crew. Destroying that base and the genophage cure became our primary mission. Having an unchecked Krogan armoy run by Saren and the Reapers spelled doom for the galaxy, so Wrex getting in the way just made him another threat. I end threats.

BURNSIDE: Now you had to split up your team, sending someone with the Salarians.
SHEPARD: Yes. Both Kaidan and Ashley volunteered. I sent Ashley.

BURNSIDE: Why Ashley?
SHEPARD: Kaidan has better tech skills. I needed him to set up the bomb when he got to the dropoff point. Plus I found his biotics extremely useful in combat, especially when paired with Liara.

BURNSIDE: And you discovered that the facility was more than just a breeding facility?
SHEPARD: Yes. Saren was using it study indoctrination.

BURNSIDE: Ah yes. This supposed ability of the Reapers to manipulate and control the minds of organic beings.
SHEPARD: Supposed? There is nothing 'supposed' about it. It exists. The Reapers use it to control organics to further their goals.

BURNSIDE: Which is to wipe out all organic life in the galaxy every 50,000 years?
SHEPARD: Yes.

BURNSIDE: And you know this from talking to a Reaper on Virmire?
SHEPARD: From Sovereign.

BURNSIDE: Saren's ship. The Geth flagship.
SHEPARD: Yes. And it was a Reaper.

BURNSIDE: And you believed you were talking with an actual Reaper -- not a virtual intelligence or other virtual contstruct.
SHEPARD: It had intelligence. Artificial or synthetic, yes, but it was intelligent.

BURNSIDE: And you really believe it was a Reaper?
SHEPARD: For the thousandth time, yes!

BURNSIDE: And I understand you ran into an Asari scientist that helped you get into Saren's lab, but then you killed her. Why?
SHEPARD: She said she had replaced a man who had become indoctrinated. It was likely that she was becoming indoctrinated herself; she even said that indoctrination was subtle, that by the time you realized you were indoctrinated it was already too late. I could not take the chance she was indoctrinated and let her go.

BURNSIDE: But you also released a captured Salarian?
SHEPARD: Yes. He was part of a control group, not indoctrinated by Sovereign. I killed everyone else. No idea if he actually made it to safety. Probably not. We did set off a nuke.

BURNSIDE: And you were forced to make a choice between saving Ashley and Kaidan because of that nuke.
SHEPARD: Ashley and the Salarians were pinned down on the AA tower. I went to go get her while Kaidan set up the bomb. Then Geth landed on the bomb site and Kaidan armed the nuke. I only had enough time to save one of them.

BURNSIDE: And you chose Ashley. Why?
SHEPARD: Not really sure, actually. Considering how useful Kaidan was and how often I took him on missions, you would think I would save him, right? But Ashley proved herself decisive when she shot Wrex, while Kaidan did not nothing. She proved she could think on her feet without needing me to give her orders all the time. I find that more valuable, I guess.

BURNSIDE: And then Saren showed up?
SHEPARD: I might have had enough time to save both Ashley and Kaidan if Saren did not drop in to fight me. He tried to get me to see things his way, but he was clearly indoctrinated, working with the Geth to find the Conduit and bring the Reapers back. He said he was making a deal with the Reapers, trying to show them that organics were useful as tools and so the Reapers would spare some organics and blah blah blah I did't care anymore. We fought for a bit before the nuke alarm went off and he flew away on his hoverboard. Then Joker picked us up in the Normandy. The end.

BURNSIDE: And how do you feel about leaving Kaidan to die on Virmire? Or how did you feel?
SHEPARD: I feel the same way then as I feel now: I had no choice. I did not have enough time to go back and get him before the nuke went off. It was unfortunate. He was also not the only crewman to have died there, only the most memorable.

BURNSIDE: So you feel nothing?
SHEPARD: I feel something, just not regret or sadness. Sorry to disappoint you doc.

JAMES VEGA: Sorry to interrupt, but the committee wants to see you again. Anderson said he will meet you there.

SHEPARD: coming. See you later, doc. You know how much I just love our little chats, right?

BURNSIDE: Your sarcasm is noted Ms. Shepard.

I'm back! Phew... what a mess. The colony on Feros had been under attack by the geth, and I was surprised that they held out so long. But I'm glad they did. Tali's knowledge of the geth was invaluable here, and she showed me a trick or two so I can hack geth even longer. She's really good! And Garrus knows a lot about tech and how to disable weapons, I like him.

After we cleared out the geth within the colony, we headed towards Exo-Geni, a facility further along the way. The geth actually had a huge ship parked there, but we were able to get rid of it. I thought we finally had saved the colonists, but there were some troubling things as well... we had learned about a creature, some kind of plant... a thorian. It could control people, can you imagine? But the worst was that Exo-Geni was actually experimenting with this creature. On the colonists! They were some sort of control group. No wonder they all dodged my questions and acted strangely.

And... I didn't want it, but I had to kill a man today. I couldn't talk sense into him and he wanted to protect the thorian and its secrets at all costs. I don't understand how you can throw your life away for... these horrid experiments. They're wrong.

A woman from the company gave me some nerve gas for my grenades, because the colonists were not going to make it easy for us to reach the thorian, which was located right below them. They worked, and we managed to save all those poor people. I'm happy they're gonna be okay.

The thorian was huge. You should've seen it. That was one freaky plant. I felt bad for killing it, it was so old, but I also couldn't let these colonists be controlled by it for the rest of their lives. When it died, an asari came out of it. Her name is Shiala. She told me why Saren was after the thorian, why the geth were here in the first place.

Saren came for the Cipher, that's a means to understand a Prothean mind, to make sense of the vision from the beacon on Eden Prime. Shiala granted it to me as well, but the vision was not any clearer. She said it will take time for my mind to process the new information, but I'm thinking about trying to contact this daughter of Matriarch Benezia, Liara T'Soni. She's a Prothean expert. Maybe she can help me with this.

Well, that's it for now. I'm beat. I'll talk to the crew later. First a nice little nap!

Oh good lord... I thought at least 10 minutes about whether I want to take Tali to the ExoGeni building or Wrex, since you're stuck with the squaddies from that point on. I decided on Tali because that's what Maxine would do, she'd value her geth expertise. But it was so damn horrible  Garrus and Tali were awesome against the geth of course (the krogan however... loading screen galore), but I just knew the thorian section would be trouble that way. They went down so many times, despite me always ordering them away from the creepers... if they would actually listen sometimes :D One thing that turned out pleasantly surprising was dealing with the asari clones. I put one point into Damping for each of us, and together with Sabotage, Overload and Marksman they were not really a threat. I thought I'd die over and over there.

On the plus side I was forced to melee a lot with the overwhelming amount of creepers, and it's so incredibly funny to do.

One thing that annoyed me was that I couldn't persuade Jeong... not even with 10 points (I tried it). That was unfortunate for my little Paragon girl. Oh well, she'll get over it

Used FaceRig to pretend I am an evil demon overlord who is attempting to learn about humanity via playing BioWare games; this made me feel somewhat better about rolling an Earthborn Ruthless Vanguard MShep who is rolling pure Renegade.  I could justify my horrible meanness if I imagined I was someone else playing the video game.  LMAO

Also.  Made a thing about the mods and settings I used for ME1 to make shore it have a purty mouth.

Also.  I finished my ME3 playthru with an Adept, and when it was over I listened to this song to make me stop crying salty tears of remorse and sadness into my coffee cup:

Except it backfired and all I did was cry harder.  LMAO

Heya, it's been a couple days, huh. Ever since we departed from Feros, we followed some of the strange clues in the files I found there. And strange it was!

First though we touched down on Eletania in order to recover a data module for the Alliance. Tali, Garrus and I had our hands full with all the geth there, but we found the module. Some cute monkey had it. They were so adorable!

Next we traveled to the Maroon Sea cluster in order to check out some facilities. It seems some scientists from Exo-Geni and a group called Cerberus were active there and experimented... a lot. It was horrid. Husks and thorian creepers everywhere. We found some scientists alive in one of the structures. Exo-Geni. Things did not go too well. I wanted to have them arrested for the things they did there, but they opened fire on us and we had to take them out. I at least hope we stopped these creepy experiments. We also boarded a derelict ship. It was full of husks as well. Quite the monster week, haha.

Then we took care of an Alliance espionage probe. Just that... it was a trap that almost killed us. Luckily we got out of there in time, and the guy responsible is now dead. He was behind the Skyllian Blitz as well... I never get why people are that way. How can they do such things?

At least we saved one guy lately, Chairman Burns. He was held hostage by L2 biotics, and I know how they suffer because Kaidan is one as well. But I could talk them down and Burns sees to some reparations.

In-between I spent some time talking to my crew. Kaidan is quite cute, but I wonder if my flirting is too much for him, haha. He always seems so coy when we talk.

While visiting all these beautiful uncharted worlds I also spent a lot of time with Garrus and Wrex. Wrex is a little grumpy sometimes, but I think he's a good guy. Garrus is sweet. I like that he wanted to fight injustice and protect people when he joined C-Sec. We can always use a guy like that, even though he talks a lot about not playing by the rules... But that's not how we do it here and I think he understands.

I still cannot make sense of the vision, even though a few days have passed. It's definitely time to find Dr. T'Soni, but first I want to investigate some geth activity. We are currently heading to the Armstrong cluster. We need to make sure they become no threat. I'll see you in a while!

My post is about what I plan to do and in turn, a question. My next ME3 playthrough will be a very power oriented Shepard and I was wondering where the Pistol Power Magnifiers were located. (Figured I'd ask ahead of time) I know two are bought from stores and the third is located during the Citadel DLC. But where are the other two?

I was sick at home for the entire weekend. Played a lot of ME3 and I´m now at almost the end of my journey. Scanned almost the entire galaxy, did all the citadel side-quests aside from the one that needs the item found close to miss Sato (this mission is not yet available). The only things remaining now are the entire Citadel DLC, the entire Omega DLC and the final chapter of Leviathan. Aside from this, I still need to go to Thesia and then trigger the final side-quest and Sanctuary.

My only concern during the whole play was that I would still be interested in Samara to trigger the exclusive quasi-romance content on the citadel dlc. With this in mind, I had no worries regarding story (aside from the fact that this female shepard is strongly paragon). Yet, she did save Kelly by being cautious and will probably not encourage Javik to see the content of the echo chard. I decided to play from the start as an insanity run.

Thus far this has been the easiest insanity run I ever had. Using an Engineer freezing enemies followed by Incinerate or using incinerate followed by overload provided several explosions in every mission. Things became totally insane when playing with Edi and Garrus. I would trigger 2 explosions in a row. When I knew that the missions would include husk or cerberus phantoms I would also take Liara (many times paired with Javik for some biotic explosions too). Her Singularity is great against husks and stasis turn phantoms into harmless sitting ducks.

With a smart use of drones and turrets as well as explosions most of the enemies were defeated from very safe distances. Rarelly would a ravager, a brute or even a banshee come close. Edi´s illusion also helped.

Tomorrow I shall discover how good this character is on Omega. I mean, so far the character worked out great as a team player and leader, but how well will it go and it only was one biotic partner and when It´s all alone against fast enemies?

Two are in stores.

One is on one of the mission (Ambush I think).

One is in the claw game in the Castle Arcade on the Silversun Strip, unlocked after beating the clone.

i think the last one is for beating one of the Armax Arsenal Arena missions.

You can always google "Mass Effect 3 Citadel DLC weapon mod locations" to find a resource that has the answer you need.

DOCTOR BURNSIDE: Welcome back, Ms. Shepard.
NICOLE SHEPARD: Whatever. Let's get this over with.

BURNSIDE: When last we spoke, we talked about Virmire. I want to talk about what happened next.
SHEPARD: When I kicked all sorts of ass?

BURNSIDE: As I understand, after Virmire, the council took steps to protect the Citadel against Saren by posting more ships around the Citadel.
SHEPARD: The wrong steps.

BURNSIDE: In hindsight, yes, but at the time it was a sound decision.
SHEPARD: No it wasn't.

BURNSIDE: Shepard, the council had good legitimate reasons for not sending you into the Terminus systems.
SHEPARD: They made me a Spectre to go after Saren, then put in restrictions to prevent me from going after Saren. It was a bad decision at the time, not just in hindsight.

BURNSIDE: And so you defied those orders.
SHEPARD: I don't leave a job unfinished.

BURNSIDE: Because you're ruthless?
SHEPARD: Not ruthless. Relentless.

BURNSIDE: Moving on then. So you went to Ilos after Saren. and on Ilos you say you listened to a distress call sent out by the Protheans?
SHEPARD: I did.

BURNSIDE: The Alliance found no evidence of this distress call. They found the terminal you used, but they only heard static.
SHEPARD: It was in the Prothean language.

BURNSIDE: Your squadmates did not hear the message. Even Liara, a Prothean expert, did not hear it.
SHEPARD: Like I said, it was in the Prothean language. I had the cipher given to me by Shiala which helped me understand it.

BURNSIDE: Shepard, no one but you understood it. That does not make your claims about the Reapers credible.
SHEPARD: Oh right, of course... And of course you will say the same thing about the Prothean VI we found, Vigil.

BURNSIDE: As i understand it from the mission report, the VI spoke in a language you understood. But the team sent in to investigate did not find the Prothean VI. It was either dead or it never existed.
SHEPARD: And so everyone just goes with the 'never existed' theory.

BURNSIDE: Shepard, please understand...
SHEPARD: Forget it. I am not even going to pretend to understand.

BURNSIDE: One last question then: you had the choice to save the council, or hold back until the Citadel opened to concentrate on Sovereign. You chose to save the council. Why?
SHEPARD: Simple. They're VIPs. You protect VIPs at all cost.

BURNSIDE: I'm not sure I understand.
SHEPARD: Sorry, military jargon. VIP is military jargon for someone on your side that you must escort or keep alive, typically government officials.

BURNSIDE: And then the Alliance was invited to join the Citadel council. And you recommended Udina as councilor.
SHEPARD: I did. He had the most experience with the Citadel Council and so was the logical choice.

BURNSIDE: And then for the next few months you hunted down the remaining pockets of Geth.
SHEPARD: They were still attacking colonies. And it was a longshot, but I was hoping I could find some intel about the Reapers. I figured since the Geth revered them as some sort of gods, then maybe they were studying the Reapers to become more like them. It didn't pan out, obviously.

JAMES VEGA: Sorry, but the committee wants to speak with the Commander again.

BURNSIDE: No problem. I look forward to our next meeting.
SHEPARD: I'll just bet.

Not sure when I will be able to import Nicole Shepard into Mass Effect 2. My work life is going to get hectic for the next few months so I am not sure how much time I am going to have.

Played as a couple of the infiltrator characters in the MP because I am thinking of going infiltrator in my next trilogy run after I finish up this one.  Played with the Turian ghost and Salarian infiltrator.

So I would like people's thoughts on the matter.  In my next trilogy run I am debating if I want to go adept or infiltrator.  I love my biotics and can't get more biotic than an adept but at the same time I have done two trilogy playthroughs in a row with biotic characters (sentinel and vanguard) and while they are different classes and playstyles the adept and vanguard are still very similar classes and I am currently rolling a vanguard.  An infiltrator would be a complete departure which would always keeps the gameplay fresh because it would force me to change up my mindset when approaching combat.  I also like the roleplaying aspects of being an infiltrator since it fits the whole special forces operative role like a glove (think arrival or virmire).   I also need to brush up on my sniper skills and while I have played this class quite a bit before it is probably my weakest class so I could always use the practice.  With that said an adept can just be plain fun to play.  It's always fun slapping a crowd with a singularity and watch them fly all over the place and toying with loudmouth mercs as they float helplessly through the air never gets old.  That said vanguards can do some of the same things (minus the singularity) and I am playing as one right now.  It would not be that big a departure from my current Shepard.   Also I already know my next Shepard will be a female with an earthborn ruthless background and I plan on doing a pretty renegade trilogy run with her.  So what do some of you think infiltrator or adept?  (btw don't tell me to play as a sentinel as some sort of compromise I just played as one in the playthrough before this one)

Well if you've just played two characters with biotics, then why not Infiltrator :) My current Shep is also one and I have fun so far, I can't wait to see what it's like in ME2 (first time playing this class).

You could of course always choose a biotic bonus power for your Infiltrator if you miss it too much :D

I'm not a big fan of sniping in ME1 to be honest :D That's why I currently use the pistol for my Infiltrator all the time.

But I can't wait to get back to sniping in ME2, just gimme the Viper <3 I should likely try out the Widow on the Infi, but then Shotguns was something I'd also like to try. Ugh, I hate making decisions sometimes

An infiltrator would be a complete departure which would always keeps the gameplay fresh because it would force me to change up my mindset when approaching combat.

...

So what do some of you think infiltrator or adept?  (btw don't tell me to play as a sentinel as some sort of compromise I just played as one in the playthrough before this one)

Well if you've just played two characters with biotics, then why not Infiltrator

...

You could of course always choose a biotic bonus power for your Infiltrator if you miss it too much

Ooooh, real fun starts with ME2   Though ME1 gives you more space to show off your sniping skills.

I'm not a big fan of sniping in ME1 to be honest.  That's why I currently use the pistol for my Infiltrator all the time.

But I can't wait to get back to sniping in ME2, just gimme the Viper.  I should likely try out the Widow on the Infi, but then Shotguns was something I'd also like to try. Ugh, I hate making decisions sometimes

I am with fraggle: take a break from biotics and play the Infiltrator. I like mixing up my tech/combat and biotic playthroughs to keep things fresh and interesting, especially in ME3 where 'biotics' typically means the same biotic explosion over and over again.

You can always take a biotic bonus power if you want (Lift or Singularity in ME1, Slam or Reave in ME2, Reave or Flare in ME3).

Sniping can be really fun in ME1, but you really need a good sniper rifle + crouch + spend a lot of points into the Sniper Rifles talent tree to make it work. Sniper rifles have terrible accuracy and recoil until you have a lot of accuracy bonuses. THEN it becomes fun, especially with some of the ranges you can fire at.

And yes, infiltrator becomes wholly unique starting in ME2 where it gets Tactical Cloak (back when Cloak was actually somewhat tactical). In ME1 it is more like a Soldier that can unlock/hack things itself, which kind of makes it a better Soldier.

And yes fraggle, I also really hate making decisions sometimes. I think have more ideas than time.

Ok guys I am definitely leaning toward the infiltrator.  Probably won't pick up a biotic bonus power though.  It's just a roleplaying rule I have for myself.  If I am not playing as a biotic class I don't pick a biotic bonus power.  Fraggle you should defintely try the shotgun infiltrator when you hit the sequels with an infiltrator's versatility a shotgun would be amazing in the hands of an infiltrator so many quick and easy kills you can get with a shotgun combined with your cloak ability.

It's funny how this always happens by the time I hit ME 3 I start thinking about my next Shepard and the next class and background I want to play instead of focusing where I am at.  Anyone else always finding themselves thinking ahead instead of focusing where they are at?  When I am playing ME 1 I find myself thinking about the sequels and how I can't wait to import so I can play with my classes abilities that only the sequels have as well as using my favorite guns within the sequels.  When I am playing ME 2 I find myself wanting to play ME 3 so I can actually take on the reapers, and when I am playing ME 3 I find myself wanting to go back to ME 1 to play as a new class, alignment, gender, and background.  Of course the Andromeda hype makes me want to play ME 1 as well since Andromeda will be taking ME 1's concepts with the Mako and exploration and refining them.  I can never just focus where I am at.  I still have plenty of ME 3 left yet I am already thinking of my next trilogy run with an infiltrator when poor Kevin is still trying to negotiate peace between the Quarians and the Geth while trying to get the crucible finished.
