Ahh okay, I've never gotten into texture modding. I wanted to for ME1, but the download size for the texture files is too much for a guy on bandwidth limits.

Haha! I did download the M.E.U.I.T.M. mod for Mass Effect, but I want to pick certain textures though, not all of them. My Laptop cannot handle ME1 too well with it...it can still play it somewhat smoothly, but without that mod, Wrex just doesn't have his "Smoldering good looks".

Well we can't have that. Wrex has to look his best.

I wonder if I can though without having a "memory access violation" or "failed to load texture" blahblahblah and stuff......the mod has certain problems at times.

And this is what I did in ME1 today. Well, that and talking to the squadmates after... but this mission summary is already long enough for now.

Good news from the colony. My mission on Feros was a success.

We rescued a small settlement called Zhu's Hope that was under attack by geth. I was glad to see some survivors, but after speaking with them, it became clear that their behavior was off. One of their guys we found wandering in the tunnels was completely unhinged. It turns out that this company they were working for, ExoGeni, had been experimenting on the colonists. I killed their leader when he turned on me. He had it coming.

That's what Saren and his geth wanted, a creature they identified as "the Thorian." They told me it was a plant, but it looked more like a bug, and shot green acid that reminded me all too much of the thresher maws on Akuze. This thing had the power to mind-control the colonists. And turn them into zombies. And pop out green asari clones from its... mouth? It looked like a mouth. I shot the first one down before it even finished talking nonsense to me.

After killing the Thorian, it released the original asari who was there on Saren's orders. She told me that he did all of this to receive the Cipher, which would help him understand the visions we both saw from the Prothean beacon. She passed it on to me too, or at least she says that's what she did. The whole thing just felt like one big mindscrew, but the images are... easier to focus on now, more clear. I don't know if she was able to see anything from my mind. It doesn't matter, anyway. I killed her too. That crazy asari tried to change sides too often. She couldn't be trusted.

I did manage to get one interesting piece of information out of her. Saren's ship apparently has the power to influence people, control their minds just like the Thorian. Maybe that's why he wanted to get his hands on it. And then the Council expressed an interest in studying this thing too. What for? The only reason to study a creature like that is to figure out how to kill it. I'd be glad to give them instructions.

I found a few leads on ExoGeni's operations, and that's where I'm going next. They won't get away with this.

That's another reason I didn't get into texture modding. I didn't want to deal with any of that.

Well, it's much easier for ME3 for me. Never bothered to mod 2 with textures. I'm fine with ME2's texture since they're not horrible looking.

That's a neat way of witing it out. I think our sheps have a lot in common.

Plus ME1 really was made in a different age, hardware-wise... and software wise for that matter. I'm actually kind of surprised it doesn't crash more often.

Thanks.  ^_^ I figured Yosef would have to write this stuff down in letters to his friends because he'd be too paranoid to keep a journal with his real thoughts. Your Shep's going mostly Renegade, right? Mine does agree with a lot of the Renegade ideals, but I think he saves people too much to get enough of the points and ends up 50/50. I'd really like to get him to 80% for that special mission somehow.

I'm doing mostly renegade yeah, but I'm going the pro-human route, so in ME2 that's gonna come out a little more as she starts working with Cerberus. Plus she kinda gained some respect for Garrus in ME1, and the way he was conflicted in dealing with C-Sec... so she's not totally anti-alien, but she seems to think quarians and asari are a waste of good breathable air.

Mine will end up going the opposite way in ME2, totally crazy because he's being forced to work with the same group that sent the thresher maws after him. But ME2 also has a lot of revenge missions, and he's very pro-revenge, so I still think he'll end up more Renegade.

Maybe I'll have him kill the rachni in ME1 this time. My original plan was to have Tali talk him out of it (and I even had to replay the mission last time to give her the Paragon dialogue), but with how that turns out in ME3, I could just let her encourage him.

Makes sense with your shep being a sole survivor. Mine was born on earth and grew up in the street gangs. She'll find a connection with Jack that way I think, but resent the way Thane used the "duct rats". Hard to say, she might just think Thane's memory thing is just creepy, heh. I know I do.

Yosef's an Earthborn too. He'll be in a relationship with Tali, but I definitely see him being friends with Jack. He's going to side with her over Miranda every time, of course. (Miranda won't be loyal in his playthrough.)

What did Thane do? I can't remember.

Oops you're right, "sole survivor" would be counterpart to my "ruthless".

In Thane's loyalty mission you have to get information from a kid who used to work for thane years ago. He was young enough that nobody paid him any attention as he hung around and eavesdropped. Bailey calls them duct rats because they crawl through the air ducts in the citadel all the time.

Oh yeah, that sounds familiar now. I'm still not sure how Yosef will feel about Thane. I'd imagine he would get along well with assassins in general, but the culture is so different. And religious perspectives tend to confuse him. In my last playthrough, Ashley told him that someone was watching over him on Akuze, and he reacted like he thought people were spying on him. Which... is actually right, as it turns out.

I'd say so. ME1 Liara -- the prothean "expert" -- managed to trap herself in a  prothean mine*. ME3 Liara has learned rule #2 -- The Double Tap.

* I know, she did it on purpose and for a good reason, heh.

I like you're going with the sole survivor thing and shep's kinda paranoid and a little crazy. Mine's too practical, and would do whatever it takes to get the job done, no matter the cost.

I think Yosef would too, unless the paranoia gets to him. He admitted to Anderson that he would kill thousands to save a million. But Cerberus? He'll basically kill off his own team because he thinks they're all out to get him.  Not sure yet how that attitude will influence his confrontation with the VS in ME3. Kaidan will be aiming a gun at him...

Gonna be fun to find out.  :)

I also try to keep in mind not to follow a plan too close, or too far ahead. I don't want to ruin any surprises before I even get there.

Now it's time to finish up Miranda's LM.

Tianshi has gotten serious after Horizon. He was mostly just pissed off about being with Cerberus and just not really sure if he was doing the right thing. He tried to restore old contacts by going to the Citadel first and meeting up with the council, but to no avail. Then he pretty must just followed Cerberus' dossiers because.. yeah, what else?

After facing the Collectors though, it's on.

He first flew to Illium to see if Liara would join up. It would be great to have one of his squad back that accompanied him on every mission after Virmire and took down Saren with him. Alas, Liara was too busy and couldn't join up. He could've helped her right there with the Shadow Broker, but he figures there's more pressing matters right now. Being at Illium it's best to help Miranda out straight away. Whether he likes it or not, her being Cerberus and all, she's still his second in command. Getting her head straight will really help out the mission.

After he's done with Illium, he'll go and pick up the other squadmate that was there and on the battefield for every mission after Virmire just like Liara: Tali.

(Virmire was the most important point in Tianshi's career history: up until then, he only used Alliance personnel. Virmire forced him to use the aliens and opened him up to their sheer power. He also killed Wrex there, which made him reluctant to wake Grunt. He couldn't pass up a perfect Krogan though)

Yesterday, Sarai Shepard helped out C sec to take back the citadel after it was taken by Cerbus. At least, I did not have my Shepard go cut scene stupid during the meeting with Mr Cereal killer. Made it so much better when I shot at him through the glass instead of just stared at him before the shooting at him out of the car part. However, I had Kaiden pull his gun out at me. I convinced him to turn the gun on Udina, instead, so I didn't have too take him out. I told Garrus that I would have shot Kaiden if he didn't stand down, but I trusted him as a solider. She got an email after a mission for some down time together from Garrus, as they talked she confirmed her feelings for Garrus and became his woman fully again. They shared a small peaceful moment together, where they shot bottles from the air. She missed on purpose.
