Transylvania!
Ha, no:

Well, at least I was right about the Germanic influence. And according to the wiki, it sits on a major route between Wallachia and Transylvania.
Then we went to Therum. I've never done Therum first so I thought I'd do it first this time. I'm not a fan of the damsel in distress so that wasn't my favorite shot. I must admit, I hate driving the mako on the PC. It really sucked. The 360 version was a dream. Vehicle driving on the PC must be horrible unless the game supports some kind of controller. I'm glad I was playing on casual because I'm sure the mako would have been blown up several times because I kept getting hung up on terrain. I hope ME2 supports the controller.
I far prefer driving the Mako on the PC version because of the ability to control the vehicle and the turret separately.
Having a good party with squad mates before assaulting Cerbeus HQ....... (for second time btw)

For me it was hard using the pc when it came to driving the mako. I'm glad ME1 came out on the ps3, it made driving easier using my controller.

The cheerleader is going through the place saying how horrible it was, then on board the Normandy can't admit it was wrong. Quality Bioware writing.

Meh, just like everybody suddenly disagrees when you keep the Collector base
I had Thane with me so it didn't really matter ![]()
"F*** your feelings!" -Jack
I probably won't stop playing ME as long as this topic is active
It's the best thread on the forums.

I'm only playing on Normal (360 version), and the Mako still gets blown up several times. I just can't dodge unless I turn it sideways. It's kind of awkward, but that's the only way I've managed to get past the geth that shoot those round electric bursts at me. Any suggestions?
You can press the thrusters button to help avoid them Saren.
So it's actually possible to jump over their attacks? Thanks, I'll try that next time.
Yup it's possible you can tell I play this game way to much lolSo it's actually possible to jump over their attacks? Thanks, I'll try that next time.

Rocking back and forth, I believe, is the standard tactic. It is probably easier on the PC where the directional control and the turret control are separate.

Awesome, I'll probably play later and see if I can get the timing right.

That sounds like how I've been playing so far, dodge by going side to side and then re-aim.

Another way, which I do quite often, is to just drive through them without stopping to shoot at them. On Therum I have actually hit a few of the Geth Armatures and they fall into the lava.

I've ran over the little guys before, didn't know it would work on the big geth. Thanks!
You have a problem thinking I didn't know that it was a game.
Heh. Sorry, tones don't come off too well over text. I was just making a joke about your playthroughs with goals like "kill all the dudes!" As opposed the usual 'x-story' post here.

No harm done.
My recent playthrough was kill all male squadmates. This current one is to kill all female squadmates. I'm running out of ways to play ME. I've pretty much done everything except a few things, which I won't do, in the trilogy.

Yea, I think running over (or under in the case of Colossuses) is the way I am going to do it from now on. It worked well the last time I did that. Drive up to them real fast, stop quickly, and while they are picking themselves up hit them with the cannon. If they aren't dead yet, drive at them again and repeat.
And in a related question, how do console players not get shot to pieces in the Mako? Jumping over shots wprks, but the timing is finicky.
Well, "shot to pieces" is basically how my driving the Mako has been working for me so far.
But I learned how to defeat thresher maws years ago with advice I got on the BSN, so hopefully I can pull off at least one of these Mako strategies.

That sounds like the way a Vanguard would drive! I've got to try that.

Just keep moving, driving around the target in circles, run them over (not on Insanity organics though because they'll live and activate Immunity, ugh...), etc; the AI is pretty terrible at aiming.
Me personally. I've never had a problem charging at a rocket user and jumping over the rocket(s) that they launch.
Edit: On Insanity I just hop out and take everything on on foot. Shepard is bulkier than the Mako and can use biotics to prevent an enemy's Immunity from going up.
What's hard about the Mako on PC? It's been a few months, but IIRC it's just more WASD, isn't it?
I didn't feel comfortable using the keys as well as I do with a controller.
