Today I finished up a "Let's Play" of Mass Effect 1 and started in on Mass Effect 2. Learning this whole "capture" thing and then uploading to youtube has taken a bit, but I think I have managed to get the kinks worked out now. Starts out rough with crappy quality, but gets better.

Today I wrapped up the adventures of Yoshimi on the xbox, getting achievements for insanity and unwavering as I went. Good old xbox and how terrible I am at aiming on it. Anyway, I went for destroy this time around.

...When I next play Mass Effect, I'm still going to be super renegade and an adept or an engineer. Not sure which.

I have like one achievement to get in ME1 on the 360. It's like some stupid "use neural shock x times." Yeah, I did the Insanity thing before they fixed the bug. Played the game on normal and switched to Insanity for hopper Saren.

On this photo play-through, I'm trying to capture the pictures I don't see that often.

Even though John had some conflicting emotions to deal with, there was still a mission to complete. After helping Tali, John punched the coordinates for the Derelict Reaper that TIM gave him. During the journey, John still dealt with his own personal problems concerning Tali, and finally decided to tell Tali how he felt and damn the consequences. However, that would have to wait until they retrieved the Reaper IFF.

Not too much to say about this mission, other than the fact that John wanted to complete the mission ASAP because he didn’t want to end up like the former researchers. Halfway through, John(with Garrus and Tali) found most of the researchers. They all ended up on Dragon’s teeth. Tali and Garrus had a few comments about this as well. They were also surprised to see a Geth that didn’t try to kill them. In fact, it actually helped them. Once they finally destroyed the Reaper core, John went against his better judgement and brought the Geth aboard the Normandy(Tali wasn’t thrilled).

During the Mission debrief, Jacob and Miranda were having an argument about what to do with the Geth. John thought about trolling them, then thought better of it. He also decided to activate the Geth and interrogate it(maybe learn some possible weaknesses that would help the Quarians). Besides, it also helped them for some reason, and could possibly be valuable in the upcoming mission. Miranda tried to disuade John, but he would have none of it.

When that touchy subject was finished, they discussed the IFF. EDI said it would take some time to integrate it safely with the Normandy. In the meantime, John could talk to the Geth and tie up some loose ends.

After the debrief, John headed down towards the AI core and activated the Geth. Once the Geth was “resuscitated”(Not sure if that word is applicable here, but you get my point), John had a nice little chat with the Geth. During this exchange, The Geth told John that he did not face the “true Geth” when he was going after Saren. Rather, it was a splinter group known as the Heretics. “Geth build their own future. The heretics asked the Old Machines to give them the future. They are no longer part of Us.” John remained skeptical, but decided that this Geth wasn’t an immediate threat. John wanted to know what to call this Geth, and EDI thought Legion was a good possibility. Legion agreed.

After talking with the Geth christened Legion, John needed some time to think about what it said. In the meantime, he headed down towards Engineering so he could talk with Tali. While they were talking, she also sounded like she was sick. During the firefight on the Alarei, a stray bullet got passed her shields and pierced her suit. The wound got infected from carelessness, and John asked if she was going to be OK. She said she would be fine, and the conversation shifted towards what John wanted to talk about. Kelly was right, Tali felt the same way about John, and he told her he felt the same way. She was pleasantly surprised, but also embarrassed, and both agreed to continue the conversation later on.

John then headed towards his cabin so he could think about what Legion said. He didn't fully trust Legion, but decided he’d give him a chance. He noticed a datapad on the corner of his desk while he mulled things over, and picked it up. It was the note he found on Omega concerning the Mercenary groups and their possible coup attempt on Aria. John completely forgot about that, and told Joker to head towards Omega. Before he gave her the datapad, she wanted his help concerning a Krogan named Patriarch. When he met Patriarch, he told him about the Mercs. Patriarch wasn’t keen on the idea of hiding, and Shepard volunteered his services(he thought he’d humor the old man). After dealing with the mercs and telling Patriarch the good news, John headed back towards Aria. She wasn’t all that thrilled with the results, but John was able to steer her displeasure towards her batarian lackey when he gave her the datapad(John was enjoying himself for once, and he didn’t even need any alcohol). As thanks, she gave him the location of an Eclipse data cache. John then headed towards the cache and was able to secure all the crates that held intel on Eclipse(one of the few times where that rocket launcher is quite useful )

When that was finished, Kelly told John that Legion needed to speak with him. Once he was down in the AI core, Legion told him about a virus that the Reapers created that would make all Geth agree with the Heretic’s logic(a math error? Really?). It was housed in the heretics main base of operations, and Legion wanted John’s help to deal with it. John wasn’t going to allow the Reapers to strenghten their power base, and agreed to help Legion. John brought Tali along as well(her hacking abilities would prove to be quite useful on this mission). Once aboard the base, Legion said that there was another possibility to deal with the Heretic threat. The virus could be repurposed to make the Heretics agree with the True Geth’s logic instead. John didn’t like the idea of brainwashing, and also thought that the Heretics should deal with the consequences of their actions. At the end of the mission, John told Legion to destroy the base.

Once back on the Normandy, Tali and Legion got into a “disagreement” concerning the Quarian’s possible war with the Geth. Legion hacked Tali’s omni-tool, and tried to send the data that Tali obtained from the Alarei to the rest of the Geth. John(who was still skeptical of Legion) ordered him to not send that data because doing so would only facilitate another war between both groups. Legion reluctantly complied, but told Tali that her people would answer for their actions after the Reaper war was concluded. Tali thanked Shepard, and headed back towards Engineering.

After that was settled John headed towards the lounge so he could have a couple of drinks and to blow off some steam. He thought about his last conversation with Tali, and decided to head towards Engineering himself so they could pick up where they left off. Tali waved John towards the drive core so they could have some privacy, and apologized for her earlier behavior. She told him that she was being selfish, and that she allowed her personal feelings for him to cloud her judgement. She didn’t want John to be distracted either, which could jeopardize the mission . She even said that he deserved to be with someone that could actually make him happy since she would always be stuck in her suit. John told her it was OK, and that he wanted to be with her nonetheless. Tali was thankful, and told him that she would do some research so they could make this work.

John then headed back towards the Galaxy map(there was a Quarian distress signal on Gei Hinnon that he wanted to investigate), and EDI told him that she was doing the finishing touches on the IFF. She recommended that he and the rest of the squad should take the shuttle to finish the journey.

(Ok, I’m tired of typing again. I’ll try to keep the next bits short.)

While they were gone, the Collectors commandeered the Normandy and captured the whole Cerberus crew except Joker. With Joker’s help, she was able to “assume control” of the Normandy, kicked the Collectors who were still on the Normandy out the air locks(Javik would be proud), and escaped.

When John and his team returned, they were shocked to see that the whole crew was missing. Joker and EDI told John what happened, and Miranda almost tore Joker a new one for losing the whole crew. At that point, John didn’t care who was to blame, and wanted to know if the IFF was now safe to use. EDI confirmed, and Miranda, Jacob, and John discussed what to do next. John decided that he wasn’t going to wait any longer, and that they were going to head through the Omega 4 relay at once. However, Miranda reminded him that some of the squad might not be at their best since some of them weren’t completely focused on the mission. John forgot about Jacob’s request to investigate the crash site of the ship that his father served on, and vaguely remembered that Samara wanted to speak with him.

John figured Jacob was a professional and that he could put aside his personal feelings for the mission. He then talked with Samara, and she said she finally had a lead on the fugitive that she was hunting. Samara also revealed that it was her daughter, and told John about the Ardat-Yakshi. He told Samra that they didn’t have time right now to deal with her daughter right now. The crew’s lives were at stake. However, he did decide to have a chat with Legion before they headed towards the Omega 4 Relay. While Legion didn’t express any anger towards John when he took Tali’s side in the argument earlier, John still sensed that he should probably talk with Legion. Legion told him that he understood John’s “fear” of the Geth, and that this fear is hardwired into all organics. John agreed, and said that he shouldn’t have allowed his personal feelings towards AIs to cloud his judgement, and that he regretted his actions. Legion’s response almost sounded like an attempt at humor, and John took that as a good sign.

While they were heading towards the Omega 4 Relay, Tali, well…you know. She paid John a visit in his quarters, she was nervous at first, yada yada yada, and you get the picture.

As for the SM, I’ll just give a brief summary.

I had the Normandy equipped with all the upgrades(I just can’t think of any logical reasons to avoid doing so). Legion was the designated “techie”, and Zaeed was chosen to lead the second fire team. Legion was killed by one of Harbinger’s Incineration attacks. Once they found the crew, Jacob was chosen to escort them and sacrificed himself to save them later on. Garrus was chosen to be the other fire team leader and survived. Samara was chosen to escort John and his teammates through the Seeker swarms. Mordin and Miranda were chosen as John’s squadmates, and Mordin was killed by the Seeker swarms because Samara couldn’t keep hold the Barrier up any longer. Tali and Kasumi were chosen to go with John to fight the Reaper “Baby”, and John destroyed the Collector Base(Having the sole survivor background, along with the fact that John didn’t trust TIM, I couldn’t think of a logical reason to save the base from a role-playing perspective.)

SM deaths-Legion, Jacob, and Mordin. Collector base destroyed.

Afterwards, John helped Samara with her daughter, gave Liara intel concerning the SB’s whereabouts and helped her take him down(despite the fact that he was angry with her earlier on, he stilled cared about her wellbeing. She was still a good friend, and he found out that she was the one who gave his body to Cerberus. I want to get into more detail about John’s response to this, but once again, I’m getting tired of typing), and then headed towards Aratoht to save Amanda Kenson(I will go ahead and say that despite the fact that John has no love for Batarians, he did not take his decision lightly. The 300,000 deaths still weighed heavily on him, and his attitude towards Batarians in general is starting to change).

Now I will go ahead and import into ME3.

I would have "LIKED" a lot more, but according to the Bioware "LIKE THIS" nazis, I've used my quota of likes for the day. Alas this cannot be a happy place. So you'll have to settle for a  :P

I feel your pain.

Mod, revert, mod, revert... trying to install a mod to change one of Ashley's armors, but the texture I apply is applying both to the model seen in combat and another which isn't supposed to be changing. Thinking it might be a problem with ME3Explorer itself at this point.

That's why I don't bother to bother with ME3Explorer. I like to keep it lean and easy......

Oh, everything else I've done has been 100% worth it; this has simply proven more of a challenge without a .mod file to install it with.

Engineer. There's just so much more variety to that class in ME3.

In my opinion it's the most bestest ME3 class.

Good news. I got bored and started an engineer.

A dudeShep, even, because I haven't been Mark Meer for like 2 years. Hunting down those pesky xbox achievements gives me goals. So I need to get full renegade in ME1, play on hardcore, and use engineer powers. I also need to use mostly Liara and Wrex. Hmm.

Anyway, he looks like a baby Christopher Lee and I dropped him on Eden Prime. I'm not going nuts with this yet, though.

...The big problem with this playthrough is I can't just blaze through. Not if I want my sweet sweet renegade points without creating a Shepard who's a total spaz.

Not directly part of the trilogy story mode, but today I was happy. After spending a lot of accumulated money, I´ve checked my profile at N7hq and discovered I now have all ultra rare weapons unlocked, and was able to maximize (level 10) one of them (the n7 hurricane). As for the other ultra rares weapons, the remaining arsenal is at level 3 (minimum) and level 9. Strangely, it took me forever to unlock the M7, and when I finally did it, I reached level 3 with it very fast.

In multiplayer took on some reaper forces on Benning.  Meanwhile Shepard saved Admiral Koris who's ship had crash landed on Rannoch then Shepard checked out his new digs on the citadel and killed a clone of himself that was trying to steal his identity.  Oh and fighting the clone was quite fun this time around.  Damn I love the vanguard class.

Today, Alexandra Shepard took control of the Normandy SR2, where she was to go find Archangel a guy that supposedly pissed off half of Omega according to Aria. So she ran over the recruitment station to get on the team to go after this dude. She stopped this kid from going with the Mercenaries. He's a naive kid just like she was, when she joined the red sands back on earth. As she got too the mission, she discovered that her big brother was in fact the target of these mercenaries. Now, she's pissed off no one messes with her crew members and gets away with it. She's shoots the Mercs down but sees her Brother get gunned down by a gunship and brings him to the Normandy after she takes down that ship first. She was sadden to learn that they did the best they could for him but it's touch and go as of right now. However, she hears the door open to see Garrus standing their with a huge scar on his face. She jokingly says he was always ugly slap face paint on him and it's not like anything changed.

Decided to go back through all my me2 saves and turns out I have a shep that can go to me3 and romamce kaidan. Which was the purpose of Max Shep. All she has to do is break up with garrus. That might be hard but we will see. Need to get some of these me2 to me3 done before I start a whole new game.

Even better!! I have a save in the cloud that is a strict Kaidan romance woot!!

now I don't have to spend countless hours going back through it all over again yay!!!

As I remember it, Garrus actually takes a break-up very well. You tell him once, he and Shepard shake hands, and they end it on friendly terms. ME2, at least, seemed like more of a friends-with-benefits thing; it escalates from there.

As I recall, Liara needs to be told twice that you're breaking up with her. All this I remember from a FemShep playthrough of mine which romanced Liara in ME1, then Garrus in ME2/3. Wanted to see what happened if you broke up with him, then reloaded.

Garrus is just such a nice guy. I know its just a game but makes my feelers hurt not to have shep with him. But lucky for me I found a save where I will not have to break his feelers as well.

I understand completely, I have this one earthborn that I'm going to have him with. I am wondering how his reactions is in the citadel DLC, since you know I was a gang banger. He's a cop it would be cool to learn he met her before on the citadel in he past. That would make perfect sense in away during her gang banging years she met Garrus. He didn't realize it was her until she said something to him about it. Fan fiction time :)

Gotta love femshep turning her back to Thane. Liara standing around like nothing is happening and Garrus, for some reason, has his weapon pointing at whatever. I guess no one cared about Thane. Of course this could've been avoided had Thane shot Kai Leng when he had his weapon pointed at Lengs head.

Playing a male Shepard who romanced Liara in ME1/Shadowbroker and then Jack for ME2 (generally); she (Liara) brought up the relationship question during the first conversation in her cabin on the Normandy. She was clearly upset about the breakup, but rolled with it; I haven't needed to remind her of the breakup since that conversation. (Currently doing DLC missions prior to Priority: Cerberus Headquarters.)
