It's not really a ghost, it s just more Shepard imagining him being there.

So Shepard is talking to imaginary people?
How am I supposed to know if someone is imaginary?

If a ghost of Shepards dead loved one showed up I'm sure she'd have a stronger reaction than just small talk. It is just Shepard saying Goodbye to Thane, almost like shes making peace with him.

It is a scene for Thanemancers to have a goobye with their LI like everyone else, don't take it too seriously.

I think Shepard needs more shore leave...
He's talking to glowy dead people on the Citadel...

It is actually very common for a lot of people after they've lost a loved one who was very dear to them. They'll have conversations with that person play out in their head and respond outloud, these conversations usually adress a regret or something unsaid to loved one in question. It is a coping mechanism that eventually subsides as they accept what has happened.

Everybody gets upset about this while ManShep has sex with a ghost Tali the night before the Cerberus HQ if you sided with the Geth and she killed herself and was your love interest? Hypocrites.

acid can have this effect on the brain ... one of my former chemistry teachers at school, had a similar "problem" ... he "tasted colors" from time to time - but he is harmless. weird but harmless. ahhh .. kids of the sixties.

This is wondrous strange.

Yet there are more things in heaven and the Citadel than are dreamt of in your philosophy...

@Dr. Extreme

Was he on his way to seeing sounds too?

Aside, that's a touching addition.

By looking at his/her form. If its a clearly formed one its real. If its fuzzy like Thane was here, its imaginery. Clear and simple. :wizard:

Whatever, cynics.

The people who romanced Thane will appreciate this scene. It was not meant for the people who would mock it. If not for YouTube, you probably never would have seen it.

german = cynic ...

i really appreciate the existance of this scene ... but imho, it was not made good (enough). it remembered me of obi wan kenobi and the jedi knight story arc in swtor ... and thats not optimal.

Well, if you see your partner being fuzzy, don't just talk to him. Simple! :wizard:

While not as strong as the 4th vid Thane left you. His appearance at the end felt really nice, little more literal "I will always be with you". And considering that Shepard is about to die, the assurance that Thane will be waiting for her "at the shore", it was very moving.
Thanes contribution to game was avoided by most but, if you followed his story, than his part in Citadel DLC is very well executed and fits what you know about him.

"Our last one until you finish kicking Reaper's asses. Because that's the plan."

Good plan. Only if Shepard kicks Reapers asses, there is the chance for another party.

Q.E.D

/off topic

I guess it's fine talking to ghosts or imaginary friends once in a while. Shepard also hears strange noises and whispers, so it's probably already to late.

Someone has to make a .gif of the pottery scene from Ghost with FemShep/Thane's heads on Demi Moore/Patrick Swayze's.
