I've been playing for about a month now, and during this I've encountered my fellow countrymen only once. I find this confusing, because back when I played on Xbox, I recall seeing Finns all the time, on a rate that it was beneath notice. This goes along with every game I've ever played online, except now with ME3 mp. So I am curious if there are any other Finns here on BSN, who still play at least semi-actively, or am I the last of my kind?

As related to this, if you people are out there and interested in playing some, please be free to add me. I primary play gold, but I can do plat or lower difficulties as well. Nor I don't really have any set preference in anything (hey, I am up for whatever). It's just that I always found that this way simplifies a lot of matters, from a lag to time differences and the language of course, which is something I definitely wouldn't mind using more in ME3 mp.

P.S. I do realize that most likely I've seen more Finns than that one incident, since not all of us have recognizable names or speak during a matches / at all (that accent is always a dead giveaway!). Nevertheless when I was browsing Finnish leaderboards, a really good part of those names were instantly recognizable as Finnish ones, so it's odd that I don't seem to be running into any on pugs.

Yes, there's at least 5 of us that I know. I suggest you find TheLegionEffect group http://social.bioware.com/group/7317/ and join the IRC-channel. There's at least 4 of us Finns there; active and good.

I do believe that there are more of us around but like you said, not all have a dead giveway ID and not everyone use the mic. My ID (not the BSN one) is definitely not in any way Finnish, nor would I want it to be, either. So yeah, we're here.

Well at least five , that's something, since I reached a point with pugs, where I had seen about as much Estonians as Finns.

Thanks for the info, though I am not probably going to act on it. Groups and clans and whatnot are not usually my thing, even if it would be the fastest way to set up games. I am rather thinking that occasional match would be a nice change for a constant playing with pugs.

No, it's not what I mean. This is about a far-away country called Fineland and its inhabits who happen to play ME 3 mp. This shouldn't have much relevance for other people.

Oh by the way, why wouldn't you want it be Finnish, if you don't mind me asking? Not that I have any Fennomanic enthusiasm towards the subject, since for me nicks are a trivial matter either way. Finnish names just tend to be convenient because they are rarely reserved. Intentionally avoiding them is an another matter. You don't like the language or you don't want other Finns to recognize you as one (which would be totally self-explanatory and understandable if it would be in a plane to Canary Islands, but in the internet...), or what? It's not like anyone else is going to make the connection, unless they are majored in linguistics or have some random personal tie to the language. Regardless your secret is safe with me

Don't get me wrong. I'm not anti-Finnish or anything like that; probably wouldn't even want to be anything but Finnish. And if anyone asks, I'm damn proud of being one. Things are good for us. It's just that I love to speak english and I love english names. I just find most Finnish names a bit boring. I also don't pretty much like Finnish music - except Nightwish - and I definitely don't like Finnish movies or tv series (Salkkarit hyvä esimerkki ). Yeah, I'm a weird like that.  

When it comes to gaming ID, recognizability didn't honestly even cross my mind at the beginning and yes, I guess it is practical when it comes to other players from the same country. But, yeah, like I said, I guess it comes down to names being boring. Nothing more than that, really.

Yeah I hail from Finland also, though my ID is not finnish, also most of us dont bother with that legion effect thingy, i think reason being, why should we ;D well ok i think the reason is because IRC is a broken software.

Well, I'm from Finland too, though my Origin ID wouldn't tell you that.

Anyway, I'm not that surprised that I haven't run into that many other Finnish players. If you don't look at leadersboards, it's hard to tell who is from where. Sure, some names are more obvious than others, but most aren't. Top of that, people hardly uses mics in PUG matches, so even that wouldn't help you.

Also, there are 4 different difficulties and still fairly large player base. So, chances of getting another player from, lets say specifically Finland, is not that likely. Even if you would know their ID.
