Again, your username, but that aside, I don't see why this needs to be a competition between asari and humans, since human women are never actually shown unfavorably in comparison to asari (unless it happens in a Maleshep playthrough with romances somehow, which may count as pandering, but it's not something I need to worry about). In any case, the asari lack a trait that these supposed pandering targets would probably want, namely the ability to produce children that look like the male.Astartes Marine wrote...
Quite the contrary, I have alot of respect for human women. It just seems that the writers or some group in BioWare wanted to one-up the female gender. 1000+ year life spans, universally loved for their beauty, the go-to group for diplomats, the most powerful biotics, and they're the most common sight in..."gentlemen's clubs" like Chora's Den.Xilizhra wrote...
If you think that asari as a species are universally better than human women, you have extremely low standards for human women.
It's like whoever designed them wanted them to be "perfect" for male and even some female audiences.
I don't much like pandering, nor do I like Mary Sues.

Biologically. But not just women, humans in general.

English isn't my first langueage and I am using direct translation but - Asari have a SEX which is different from GENDER which they don't have. Gender is a SOCIAL construct, where's SEX is a biological one. Makes sense?
I don't know if it's the same in english...

Irrelevant, if i have to choose between a warrior kind that can blow up planets with bombs or a species whose only relevance in combat is their biotics and a big space ships to face an enemy that can destroy all the life in the galaxy... you can bet your sorry assets i will choose the one that i know can fire a gun without pissing his pants.

Gender is in part a social construct, but it's also a mental and, ultimately, physiological one in its own way. People do have inherent gender identities (mostly; some don't have any single one, but they're rare), though these don't always match physical sex.KainD wrote...

Thessia and Palaven are both in a state of occupation. The reason you don't hear many stories from Thessia is that, by the time the Reapers do invade, the war is almost over.Besides, when Thessia got invaded their planet got captured to ****ing fast... meanwhile with the Turians: Miracle At Palaven.

Then asari are anything but mono-gendered. Asari can behave masculine ( be "men" ) or behave feminine ( be "women" ) or something in between by human gender norms. Just that they have the luxury of their sex always matching their identity, they shouldn't have any gender like norms as a species that only has one sex. I think..

Gender identity and behavior aren't the same thing. It's entirely possible for someone who identifies as a woman to be masculine in behavior, for instance. Then asari are anything but mono-gendered. I don't think I can comprehend..
I understand only physical sex and gender, where's physical sex is about ones body and gender is about ones mind set.
"Woman" for me is a term that is made of 2 parts - female sex and feminine gender, and one can identify themselves as that. I don't know 1 word that would describe - female sex and masculine gender however.
Must be langueage problems again lol.

Female sex and male gender identity would be FtM transsexual. However, all asari possess a female sex and female gender identity; neither one, of course, actually dictates their behavior.KainD wrote...

That's pretty clear, everyone was getting their poop beaten out their bottoms but if "Guy A" can make you survive longer than "Guy B", then definetly go for Guy A
The Asari?... in one day, by a small number of enemy forces and they were unable to make a little more competent defense?
C'mon! Turians had so much Reapers in their planet an entire ****ing hemisphere was completly on fire (hell Eart had only stains of big fires in Africa and smaller ones in the northern hemisphere) and they were still fighting.
I hold to my choice, if i have to save any military competent species over the Asari i will do it... and then hit the bar and get depresed becuase i just damned them to extinction. Maybe after getting really drunk i will get over it (nope, i won't).

Well, I guess there is no gender identity for Asari, but a human can associate their cultural identity with aspects that they would call "female". Like that maybe?
From an Asari perspective, they have no gender. From a human perspective, they are female.

Thessia falls with the left over of the Reapers in ONE DAY (like ****ing Earth... oh wait, Earth was the target of the main Reaper Fleet)... Palaven stood for the entire war and manage to destroy many Reapers in a brilliant, if inmoral to my standars, stategy.

Socially maybe (I didn't mean that), but biologically you pretty much have to consider Asari female. Their whole body is female, their voices sound female, they can have children....
