I'm a big fan of using Meat Shields, so pugs have always been great. Now with the Juggy released, Meat Shields can purposely fulfill their pug role. Hmmm. Would that be considered ironic...?

You know it's going to be a bad game when the local edibot bleeds out in wave 1.

I just had a Gold/Geth game with a Krolord that constantly kept dying.
It took a fair slice of self-control not to make a snide remark over voice chat.

I've noticed over the past few weeks that just about every game I join, most of the players don't do anything. They join a game with either an underleved character for that difficulty ( mostly Gold characters who are below 15 ), or don't have equiptment on. In-game, if it's neither of those, the person is completely uncooperative or just doesn't revive themself or bleeds out.
Please tell me I'm not the only one who has noticed this.
Char levels levels below 15 are still gold viable but it depends largely on skill
HOWEVER, i do agree with you that there is a noticeable drop in skill.
Maybe because of the increase in the number of new players. ..

I have noticed the exact and entire opposite, my PuGs lately have been good/great.
I just played with a host who could one-shot everything with his Crusader, including Atlases. Modified .ini files can do wonders.

Thats one of the reasons I like having a crappy manifest after I switched to PC no one expects me to carry them, or come firstNickSTA_Gold wrote...
To quote a guy in a gold lobby i just joined "Yes that guy has a banner he'll do most of the work"
I left.
I used to regular gold on console, and when I switched to pc had to do the whole grind again. I'm back in gold quality, just barely, mainly because I'm running out of stocked up equipment. As the Human Adept who carries a Mattock VII with only incendiary two, hell, maybe even only one, on, I'm a secret threat.

PUG minions are of poor quality indeed, that said I've found that running around with a Talon to be a very good idea, trying not to nuking everything and make it a 15min game at the risk of Trolling every1 is becoming harder and harder to resist
The gun or character?
Character
Spamming Mines non-stop and destroying everything cause those PUGs are depleting my Gels and Thermal Packs are more plentiful than Gels
Talon has become one of my favorte characthers for this reason. With a bad team you tend to get large clusters of enemies that it' easy to hit wit cain mines. I'm not sure how many teams I've bailed out in the last few weeks by doing that. Not really caring about the money to much anymore helps.

HEY, I'm one of those few people who have a less than 1k challenge rating, and am pug'ing UUG fine. If I play a Human Adept, I'm around 20,000 above the rest of my teammates. Though, I got to admit, when I do pug, everyone just decides to stop using medigel after the last objective wave. Like, I got grabbed wave 10 on Palaven against reapers, and the last man was a Geth Juggernaut who wouldn't use his missiles or medigel to get extraction. That is the sort of thing that pisses me off. I mean, they put an extraction bonus in there for a reason, and it's not like it was mid wave either. There was literally two brutes and two banshees left. One which was down to half armor because of incendiary ammo, warp, and shockwave. Dat Burst DPS.Taritu wrote...
PC Gold PUGs are crap, as a rule. It's routine to have two bad players, I just pray there's one person who can play other than me. It's really testing my limits, sometimes I just can't carry them to completion (sniper on Glacier, say, or bad luck, or *cough* making a mistake.) And it's also restricting what kits I feel comfortable playing.
I'm getting a lot more ruthless about not reviving people, too. If it's a dangerous revive I've got to let them bleed out, they're useless anyway, and if I go down permanently I know they can't complete a late wave.
I really wish they'd play Bronze and Silver first. I mean, I'm seeing more than one person, in a match, with an N7 under 120. I routinely see people with challenge ratings under 1k, or even 500. They have level 1 rare or UR guns, or they're using guns that are worthless to their build, they don't use equipment, and some of them don't even use gear.
/rant
Sometimes I don't mind, it can be a challenge to carry. But it's becoming too often.

Yeah, I've noticed that as well lately. One game I had this weekend was some stupid human soldier with a Collector AR I who managed to waste all his medigel at the third round. I did happen to play a class to carry, a TGI with a macro'd Mattock VII *cough*Beat the guy with the VI Harrier in a different game*cough*, but I just didn't want to waste the 40 minutes of my life babying these plebs. After I got dropped the third time that round, and being the last man alive, I just had to quit.AustereLemur799 wrote...
To be honest, I don't know. I've always noticed PUGs with at least one noob player leaching off veterans - this is nothing new.
When I first started out on gold, this would've been a worry. I've spent enough time ranting about the issue; now it's come to the point where I'm confident to carry a gold match. If people don't pull their weight - it's their problem and whether they can sleep with their consciences at night.
What I will say, however, is please, please, please use equipment on Platinum.
Leechers dying within the first ten seconds of every wave is getting more common, but you have to think that it must be boring for them. Don't they have anything better to do with their lives? Apparently not. If anything, pity them.
