Somebody throw the OP out the airlock for that title tbh.

Also the worst thing to happen in video game histroy remains ET for the Atari 2600.

Umm, no. Not by any stretch of the imagination. ET is a nice tale, but it doesn't deserve much of the flak it gets. It was one of the best selling games on the Atari 2600, and far from the worst. ET is really just a sign of the times...the last straw, if you will.Fiddles dee dee wrote...

Superman 64 is considerably more heinous.

The console can stay in the ship, but the designer of the N64 controller needs to be thrown out of the airlock. That person obviously created that controller for creatures with three hands.
Agreed, dat Z button.
Also I found Banjo Kazooie, it was nestled behind some ancient gameshark book that's pretty torn up. My life is complete.
Title changed BTW.

That becomes increasingly less likely with each console release. Their third-party support is trash in comparison to the N64 days.wsandista wrote...
The N64 is easily the best console ever. It is the greatest because it didn't try to be PCLite, it tried to be a great console and succeeded greatly. I hope that Nintendo manages to create a console with a library half as good as the N64 someday.

*Takes your words as the start of a pointless console war* Xbox 360 sucks!DominusVita wrote...
I would kindly argue that the Super Nintendo Entertainment System does that. There was no doubt critically acclaimed games with the N64, but the quantity of well-made games on the SNES urges me to push for that console instead. As far as the future, it's difficult to tell. They've always been innovative with hardware, but the software from gamecube and beyond involving First-Party Games is muddy and mixed.
Having said that, don't take my words as a start of a pointless console war. N64 still has many of my most beloved gaming memories. My thoughts and memories of the console are exceptional. Except for that.

I'd prefer Nintendo stepping out of the console market and putting their Zelda/Mario/Metroid on PS5/Steam.wsandista wrote...

Had a few all time classic gems that I cherish like OOT, F-Zero X, Wave Race, Shadows of the Empire, Rogue Squadron, Episode 1 Racer, F1 World Grand Prix, Pilotwings 64, Goldeneye, Diddy Kong Racing, Starfox 64, Perfect Dark which I actually picked up off or XBLA and finished but totally forgot how antiquated the FPS controls were back then. Not trying to finish that on Perfect Agent like I did on the 64! I was nuts back then!!
It also had a lot of things going bad for it like it didn't have full motion cutscenes like it's competitors did (Playstation 1, 3D0, Sega Saturn), it was still on cartridges which were better for loading times and saves but were damn expensive and took up a lot of shelf space. It didn't get a lot of 3rd party support like the SNES did and of course it lost favour with key developers like Square-Enix (Square at the time).
I was in my late teen years when it came out so I had fond memories of it but I still think the best console of the 90's was the SNES. Probably one of the best of all time.

So you think the N64 had a better library of games then the SNES or NES?

The N64 is actually capable of FMV's, if you look at the N64 version of Resident Evil 2, they just take up a ton of space on tne cartridge. Hah, I'm the opposite to you on regards to Perfect Dark, bad at the N64 version and never did Perfect Agent, but I thrashed everything on the XBLA version. That's probably only due to better controls though.
Honestly, while the N64 is my personal favourite, I would have to concede that the SNES was just overall superior in a lot of ways, and probably is the best console from the 90's.

Playing Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time and then buying Majora's Mask only to find out the game sucked. I hated the timer on Majora's Mask it was so annoying. I didn't like the game at all, and I only got like 2/3 of the way through before I decided to quit. The game just wasn't all that great.
Someone who mentioned 1080 snowboarding. Yup, that game was pretty cool.
Not a lot of memories with my N64. I had more with my PS2 than anything else.

Super Smash Bros.
Perfect Dark
Goldeneye
Mario 64
Mario Kart 64
F-Zero 64
Ogre Battle 64
... and I might be alone here, but I LOVED Starcraft 64. Seriously a split screen RTS was possible on N64, so I tend to roll my eyes when developers say they can't do split screen on current and next gen consoles. People always mentioned the controls in how bad Starcraft 64 was, but my fond memories of playing with my brothers against the AI long into the night override such handicaps.
