I remember when I first encountered her and how furious I was that this was what I was being stuck with rather than Emily Wong, or even Khalisa bint Sinan al-Jilani.  I'm a bit of a completionist, though, so I just felt obligated to take her along so I wouldn't miss anything.  Plus I could stick her in some forgotten hole in the ship and ignore her as much as possible, so what was the harm really?

But then I learned that, had I rejected her outright, she'd have actually been killed later when the Citadel was attacked!

I was so crushed.  Posted Image

I didn't regret it, but I didn't care either. I forgot she was there for 90% of the game. Complete waste of space.

Haven't taken her since my first playthrough. No time for interviews, the galaxy is at war, woman!

Making Kelly Chambers commit suicide is even more heart wrenching.

I didn't care much for her, but I'd never be so insane that I'd wish her dead.

I don't really regret taking her along, I just didn't bother to interact with her much after I did.  I would have been happier if she was taken out of the game and the amount of time put into her was put into making Ash a better ME3 character instead.

That would have made more sense to me.

She didn't bother me...I would have preferred Emily Wong or Khalisah Al-Jilani, though.

Come on, she's not real. Haven't you ever wanted to see a fictional character fictionally die?

What? No, I mean I was crushed that I accidentally saved Diana's life!

Now Kelly's another matter.  Killing her would be like killing a ... puppy or something.

No. Her character reasonably served a good purpose.

Back when every EMS count when they had forced online multiplayer, I have no choice but to take her since perfect Destroy ending was almost impossible without some multiplayer games. I don't care for her, so I barely notice her if she's there or not. On the plus side, she dies if you don't bring her with you.

I only bring her on board for the extra dialogue from Samantha when you see Allers in her room..

No I think the media aspect is interesting enough - I just thought she has a poor voice actor but I feel that way about a few characters so yeah

I don't understand why everyone hates her so much. If they hadn't teamed up with IGN and brought Jessica Chobot aboard for the game, they WOULD NOT have had anyone in there to replace her. Emily Wong likely wouldn't have been a part of it regardless. Show me some evidence anywhere that even might indicate that if Allers hadn't been in the game we would have even had that reporter role on the ship at all.

I took her along, and she never bothered me. She sat down on the engine deck, and I never visited her. I did the two interviews, and a got a few extra war assets for bolstering morale.

You can't say that they would not have let us take Emily on board; that's as bad as you claiming that emily was never intended to be on board either. Perhaps having Emily was the original plan but someone wanted IGN's approval, so they bought brought Chobot on board.

If any reporter was going to beincluded, it should have been either Wong or Kalisah--end of story.

Didn't even talk to her. See? At least one choice matters.

Happened to me on my first play though. First thought was, "NOOOO! WHY?!"

No

It is a reminder of what not to do in the next game (and that we should not get attached to characters or plots...you know like Emily Wong)

ANN FLASH:  Emily Wong died on Twitter the day before the release of ME 3.  It was likely a planned, and written out in advance event for the prelaunch of the game.  So I can pretty safely say that yes, Emily Wong wasn't coming along for the ride.

Anything that appears on Twitter about the game is fanfic material as far as I'm concerned.  No, I don't care who wrote it.

Wasn't in the game; didn't happen.  Emily Wong was alive and should have been the reporter on my ship.

I don't regret taking her along. I enjoyed the interviews - public relations is part of war.

I would have preferred Emily Wong, though, instead of making an entirely new character for a position that an established character would have been suitable for. I also thought the idea of having a reporter on the Normandy was under utilized.

What, 5 war asset points with minimal point boosts to other assets from interviews and no memorable dialogue whatsoever outside of that?  Seems pretty pointless to me.

And dear god, that face...created from the bowels of the warp by servants of Nurgle that was...

It might surprise people to learn that having characters such as Emily Wong on the ship is not an instant guarantee of satisfying content.

Yeah, after the first time I regretted it and happily sent her to her doom the second time. D.A. was a waste of resources as how she was done in ME3.

That's your assumption. I know Emily died on Twitter.  There's nothing to say she wasn't originally included until she was sidelined for Chobot.

My problem is that we already had 2 reporters to choose from who Shep already had history with. Either of them would have been more relevenat than Allers (as well as better voice acted).
