they tried, but they died. I managed to clutch wave 6 7 8 with my FQE (this was before they fixed cryo-incinerate too, so she was even more gimped) until I ran out of medigel.

and the end they said

Had one pug flip his curly ****ing wig on me one match with the accusations of "kill stealing" while I was pulling Claymore rank with the Krogan Soldier, and he was a Krogan Shaman that only Shockwaved. Threw more N-bombs than Drell lob Cluster Grenades. Didn't even headbutt me back when I first got in, so rude.

Worst. Krogan. Ever.

Had a PUG who kept saying "I'm backing out" after everyone would go down then "Oh wait, this guy is still up" (this guy meaning me) Rather than staying until the loading screen to get credits, he'd willingly just drop the match? I don't even.

This was a while back now, but I'll never forget it.

Full Pug game. At the start of wave one, the host gets on the mic and says (in an accent I couldn't place):

"Hello, I am [host's name] and I will be your medic for today."

This was met with a stony silence.

The game starts, and the host goes down almost immediately, then again, and again each time being revived by whoever happened to be closest. After the fourth or fifth time, there's a crackle as another pug turns on his mic, and says:

"Physician, heal thyself!"

Host promptly quits, and after migration I'm in the game on my lonesome, so sadly I never got to find out who said it.

More recently I had someone rage at me for taking everyone down with a possessed abomination in the extraction zone. Might be a reasonable gripe, but it had died (and killed us) AFTER extraction, so it didn't matter. By chance I just happened to be the last person to hit it with anything. Still earned me a kick vote and some negative rep.

My favorite situation a Platinum PUG on Giant turned into that I was in recently:

(Loads into game in-progress, hears several missiles go off before game loads in.)

PUG: "I couldn't do the glitch, can you do the glitch Player X? (Another PUG who doesn't respond to glitcher)
PUG: "Crusader, can you do the glitch?"
Me: "No, and I don't want to, nor do I play with anyone who does."
PUG: "If you can't do the glitch, I don't see how we can possibly survive against all these enemies with just four players." PUG quits, and host is transferred to me.

Same game, new PUG joins, some kid who begins to leech, running to the middle of the map, dying each wave, not even tapping A when downed, then he yells out in an accusatory tone that I'm using a hacked Hurricane since "I've got the Hurricane and it doesn't kill things in one shot". I ask the child what he's talking about since he's watching me on spectator mode after he's bled out, and I just spent a couple of minutes soloing a spawn, taking a few clips to kill an Atlas at a time. He ignores me and tells me "you did it again!" five more times over the course of several waves, and I quit talking to him.

Leecher goes AFK for a few waves, announces on Wave 9: "Ok! I'm back!" yet continues to die in the same manner and not press A when downed.

Leecher now tells me: "you did it again! I wonder how you're doing this. THIS IS SO COOL!"

(Facepalm)

I get to the lobby, and another of the PUGs has a kick vote on the kid. I send a friend request for that alone.

Later the same day, I do a search for another Platinum PUG, and matchmaking drops me in a Silver Geth lobby with the same leecher talking about how difficult the game is and why one has to play a Juggernaut to survive. I drop from the lobby.

I join a lobby, I realize that match has already ended and host says: "F... noobs!" and then leaves a lobby.

Not kidding. Me and two other pretty good players got tired of waiting for a pug to fill our last spot in a U/U/P lobby so we decided to keep a n7 120 infilitrator with a phaeston or something cuz he had a mic. We got reactorhaz. About wave 5, we are running around smashing stuff and we hear "huh? Whats does that button do." Got two of us. Stinker
