 Was playing a Gold match with some randoms. One of the randoms was a low N7 (cant recall if he was super low atm but he had a lot of basic weapons & gear).

Anyway, during the match he starts ranting. At first the rest of us didnt know who it was. We're all randoms and wasn't really talking on the mic. Finally, it becomes obvious its the lowbie talking smack after he went down again:

Insane lowbie: "Come on! Do I have to show you scrubs how to play Mass Effect!??"
Me: "You should be thankful we were nice enough to carry you. Really what will you show us? You are using a low level Avenger and obviously have no gels, etc."

From there the lowbie basically launches into an incoherent stream. We booted him when we got back to the lobby. I assumed he was a reincarnated missile glitcher that had to start over after getting caught.   But maybe he was really a newbie that just arrived from Call of Duty. Could've sworn he mentioned he was a pro there but this awhile back

Sure, we had a player who radically insisted on putting cyclonic IV on a vorcha and power amp IV on volus mercenary. All attempts to persuade him failed miserably. Otherwise, he actually was very good except dying quite frequently with the vorcha and cursing violently every time it happened saying that he did not put anything in fitness. That might have been the reason to insist on using cyclonic IV. The reson for using poweramp on volus mercenary is unknown and will probably remain unknown forever.

So, did half of this stuff actually happen? My experience on xbox of pugs is that someone coughing or breathing awkwardly into the mic is the Mass Effect equivalent of a nightclub on Friday night. Very rarely do I get someone who's not in a party or actually speaks when they mic up. Hardly ever bother to mic up myself...

That would probably be why. If mass effect 3 doesnt show you have your mic plugged in the social-lites probably wont have any reason to talk

Even when I dont have my mic plugged in my Mass effect 3 always shows I do for some reason. So a lot of times when I play I'll get to hear lots of great stuff. 

I don't even think I posted all the stuff I heard over all these months in this thread from randoms.  I'd put nothing at all pass these guys

Thanks for clearing that part up. Makes sense for people to stay quiet if they're the only ones with the mic. Personally, don't think I would enjoy having a running conversation with myself XD.

I might have worded it badly, but I also meant the fact that most pugs haven't got their mics on to begin with. Which is why I have mine off.

I jumped into a silver lobby with my Krysae wielding GI. The was a Warlord, Vorcha Sent, and a Talon Merc. They all had their mics on and were talking to each other. I could tell they were all ghetto just by the way they talked to each other. It also seemed like they knew each other personally. We started the match and ended up on White Hazard against the Geth. The Warlord was a chick and she didn't start melee-ing until wave 6 and she had the Harrier equipped. I was quick-scoping Geth left and right and the rest of the pugs were wondering why my score was so high (at the end of the match I had 70+ grand in points while the closest pug had 35 grand). It took until wave 7 before they realized what gun I was using. What's sad, is that they pug who realized what gun I was using said, " Oh. It's that sniper rifle that shoots grenades." despite the fact that every other kill in the kill feed was mine. At the end of wave 10, the pug that was using the Warlord starts complaining that her screen is really bright. One of the other pugs tells her to turn down the brightness on her tv and she says that it's not that. The other pug asked if she had a Pyro near her and she said no. I just facepalmed at this. I was tempted to turn on my mic and explain about the Krogan going into Rage after getting two or three melee kills in a row, but I decided against it. We extracted and I left the lobby as soon as my game finished loading. I wasn't gonna deal with another match of that...  <_<

Just had a pug on gold geth Goddess and someone says 'I've never seen so many Primes - even on Platinum!'



The highlight of the day was definitely someone who was talking about how they wish they had beaches where they lived, not to mention their advice on how to be successful employee in the workplace. I'm still not sure whether they were talking about real life or their volus's career prospects...

A kid with a mic insulted me the other day as I was joining a lobby. I got kicked.

I just caught the gist of it; some kind of insult about my GT ('Hey, Lemur; do you like bananas?'). What hurt most was that he timed it perfectly; he said his piece and then, boom, final kick vote before I could even see the lobby in question.

Been playing gold for over a year, but this hurt. I know I'm way overly sensitive, but it really did batter my confidence.

What shotgun were you using?

Raider. Wanted to use the Venom, but I thought the game was going to be too laggy for a projectile weapon.
