He really was a kill stealing little douche, I don't mind "Kill helping" but there's a big difference between helping and blatantly shadowing you the whole match to take the kill, not cool, not cool at all 

 

But back OT, what else ave we heard? I think things like "Banssshhhhhheeeeeeeeeee" and "Dude there's a turret behind you" are pretty regular things, and helpful things at that.

I forgot how mad he made you at the time... lol... he was an *sshole! I'm pretty sure we heard his mum moaning at him part way through too... and he was all ''Urgh, I'm playing............''

That guy we added as a friend who got insta-death from a friendly phantom made my day... the cursing and his hatred of phantoms was hilarious, he was really useful in spectator mode too, wasn't he? I wish I could remember what he was saying because I was rofling at the time!

But K_O_513 and I are working on him. He's a fairly new player we picked up two weekends ago in my Gold lobby and since we all three were mic'd up, it turned into a gigantic learning session. Introduced him to N7 HQ when he asked about our banners, recommended he check out our builds and come here for the Resource Library (not sure if he's wandered over here yet, though). Yesterday was an entire afternoon session on biotic and tech explosions, what they are and how to make them.

 

And he really wanted to try Platinum for the first time, so we put on our easiest carrying kits and told him to grab his highest-level character, which was a Level 19 Kroguard and when that second golden gem came out. I gave him advice on the build and explained how charge would restore his barriers and the DR granted by heavy melee, when to charge and not charge bosses and the "tells" they give for being in sync-kill mode, etc. He stayed on his feet most the time, so not so bad for his first. LOL

 

It was a stark reminder at just how much game knowledge is here, though. I mean, hearing brand new folks and their questions - and some of it seems so simple and basic to us until you realize half of it's not really explained in-game or that certain things have exceptions to the rules, etc - was a bit of an eye opener!

I played with fmkilgore. He got sync killed, made a weird noise and left. It was a gold game.

Also had two guys who were certain I was a silver player because I started in the middle of the map on Rio.

Yeah, I chuckled pretty hard and thought about how Jeremiah would pop a blood vessel in his eye at that (it's his "score ho" kit, we all say jokingly ).

 

But then I think back to when I was really new and tried a vorcha for the first time and died approximately 8.5 billion times on Silver.

 

Dude's new... like, very new, and having the obvious survivability issues. Once he gets better at staying on his feet and leveling up his guns so he can kill faster, I'm sure he'll start getting the hang of "trickier" kits like the vorcha/geth/etc.

I love that character. The part that strikes me as a little curious is that I always thought of the Vorcha Sent/Sol as very noob-friendly kits, because of their regeneration, and the ridonkulous DPS output of Flamer. But I guess I could see how this could actually have the opposite effect, and lead you to die more often because you have a false sense of security and think that bloodlust will allow you to tank like a Krogan. Like you say, I'm sure they'll learn.

There were 2 guys having a conversation about missile glitching. Apparently they thought it could be done with any weapon. They were fairly disappointed when they loaded into the lobby with a Kishock and a GPS and were getting annihilated on wave 1. The second guy rage quit. The first just bled out.

On the topic of helping noobs get used to the game...

 

I ran into a group of pugs while playing my BatSent sharpshooter on Jade/Reapers/silver (I was just trying to get Blood Pack Mastery finished and I only needed 3 more waves on him).  One was a Salarian who quit halfway through the match.  Another was a Destroyer with a Crusader who was doing pretty well.  The third was a Kroguard who had a fairly low score considering how, supposedly, he played Vanguards the most.  Ended up being just me and the Kroguard and we still had two devices left and Banshees kept showing up every time I would start the second-to-last device, so we ended up running around the map a bit.  Eventually killed all the Banshees the game had to throw at us and was able to get that device, but the last one was surrounded by Marauders with a Ravager in support.  It took forever, but I was finally able to finish the objective with literally seconds to spare (Kroguard bled out) amd I had to clutch the wave.  We extracted and I switched to my QME w/ Arc Pistol because I felt like trolling.  Ended up getting Collectors/London.  We got to wave 3 and of course it had to be devices.  We had two devices left (the Destroyer switched to a vanilla HMS who bled out and the Kroguard was now a vanilla HMV) and there were a ton of Collectors around it.  I blitzed away to try and lure them away, but the former Kroguard stuck around, getting turned into swish cheese.  He had a mic, so I turned mine on and I tried to tell him to lure the Collectors away.  Before he could, he died and I wasn't able to revive him.  Ended up running out of time before I could finish the second to last device.

 

I ended up getting into a conversation with the guy and learned quite a bit about him and his play style.  I gave him some pointers and we started doing silver matches together, eventually getting to gold.  He got the Warlord and I gave him tips on how to play and build him.  He was a good learner, if a bit slow.  Friended him so I could give him more pointers as he needed them.  Hmm... maybe I should see how he's doing.  It was actually pretty fun playing with him.

I was playing the Talon Merc the other day(basically my easy mode character), running my AP arrows build like usual. Suddenly around wave four or so, the pug comes on the mike:

 

Pug: "Dude, you're playing the class wrong."

 

Me: kills a brute in two shots that was about to cream him into the ground.

 

Pug: "Dude, don't you ****ing know how to play that class? You're supposed to spam the cain mines."

 

 

7 rounds later, I topped him by like 70k points.

When I started to load into the lobby I almost died. That guy's microphone was blaring louder than a mountain lion covered with bees running through a cactus.

 

I have never seen someone get kickvoted so quickly. I felt kinda bad about inflicting him on some other pug, but I got over it.

 

 

Oh, and my personal favorite, the game where the three other people were clearly friends just talking about whatever. I basically had a running commentary about the game and real life going at the same time. It was nice, for a short time, I could imagine I had friends
