Less what they say and more what they do, but the last game I played wherein the TGI with the Avenger X spent 15 minutes trying to kill a geth prime on silver(we'd all bled out through stupidity or...well, stupidity. Honestly, there were only like 3 enemies left. It shouldn't have been that hard.)

Problem one; he did not know how to cloak and then fire. He never did it. Ever. Not. Once. He also insisted in overloading the prime over and over again while missing wildly with his avenger. Good thing it's pinpoint accurate in short bursts! Eheh...heh...eheh...

But at least he could use it to avoid taking damage, right!? No wait, no he couldn't. He proceeded to use at LEAST 50 ops packs by not using cover at all and getting nailed time and time again as he ran through the open from ammo crate to ammo crate.

Finally, after 10 minutes of this pain, one of the bled-out teammates comes on the mike. "Dude, do you have any missiles left?"

Ten long, quiet seconds later; "Oh. Right." Pseeeeeew--Boom!

The worst part; we had already beaten wave 10. He was literally doing that entire exercise for the sake of 2000 credits and a few thousand extra XP. And then he died and bled out before extraction.

Good show, old boy. Good show. :bandit:

I did the exact same thing as TGI guy when I was learning in silver.
Last man standing for the first time against a Geth prime, I panicked, missesd with a rocket, and went down after failing to use soft cover, before I knew what RHA was. We've all been there.

Playing with 2 Jugs (mmm)  and another Krogan on Giant . Jugs were low level everything but were fine as team mates .

Extraction wave  me and the Kro bro head up to the sniping room . The Jugs both head to the EZ . I could see all the enemies heading their way. Then the dying starts and I am watching the revive cycle and its still a minute out from extraction.

One of the Jugs cries out  "hey we could do with some fu'''''ing help here" .I was tempted to give him a quick lesson on why heading to the EZ so early wasnt a good idea but I had 4 missiles so I decided to enter the fray " OK on my way " Used the 4 missiles in the last 45 secs or so because the Jugs kept trying to melee every boss while surrounded. Didnt stay for another game.

Giant is actually one of the few maps along with Rio that I stay in or near the EZ on the extraction wave. All you have to do is spawn control and it is easy especially on Giant but you do need team members who can handle areas on their own to do it.

Problem with the poor ol' Juggy though - if they stray too far from the EZ they'll never get back there in time to extract :)

Even without adrenalin you can do a full circuit of Giant with a bit of time to spare.

Agree with both comments . You have to time your run.

What I find really annoying about 2 Jugs camping the EZ is that they will no doubt block your view and abilty to engage enemies by throwing up shields leaving you to cover their backs.

The spawing area is close to the EZ so missiles have a limited impact if you are trying to hold the area for a long period.

Why not just go to the sniping room where the shields will actually be helpful and you can engage enemies at distance with weapon fire . 30  secs or so out the Jugs can drop down the ladders and move to a clear EZ and fire off a missile or 2 on the way  if needed ?

That is the easy way to do it. :)

I rarely use Adrenaline on my Jugg and have played Giant so often I know when to head back. Most missed extractions with my Jugg? Ghost.

Agreed, you just need to suppress that spot right in from of the LZ, before the ladder down, shoot those coming up from the ladder and most pugs will be able to camp the LZ proper without it being too much, especially with one or two juggernaut pugs. Its actually easier and safer than camping the second floor ops room as you do not have to run towards the LZ and get blocked by something on the way there.

The main reason i sometimes do not do it is because i'm late for the run and that means a missile is required to clear the spot and i'm out of missiles. Alternatively, it may be that from waves 1 to 10, i already know even with the 3 pugs shooting down 1 single lane of fire, they will still fail because their dps is really that horrible

I agree with your agreement :D

Yeah the ladder acts as an excellent choke point  so you only really need one person in that room leaving three others to manage the EZ. No gauntlet of death and no enemies continuously spawning next to the EZ win win.

-Enter lobby preset white/gold/geth-

PUG1 (The host): Man I haven't played this game in forever it'll be good to get some easy credits

PUG2: Umm...I don't know how to break it to you but you may want to reconsider

PUG1: Nah this was a cakewalk

PUG3: Let him learn

-In the game-

PUG1: To the basement

-Later-

PUG1: Since when the hell have geth primes had combat drones, what the in oblivion is a geth bomber, they took away the ability to grab the pyro! The geth were suppose to be the fair enemy!

PUG3: Not anymore.

PUG1: I don't even want to know what they've done to the reapers

PUG2: Actually they're the faction to abuse now

I'd put a like vote on this, but I can't bring myself to like anything that involves FBW/G/G

To be fair, as a PUG who has recently started using the N7 Shadow cloaking ability properly, I can understand how Cloaking and then firing sounds like a stupid concept.

I mean, why Cloak only to reveal yourself by firing a gun afterwards? Sounds dumb. (I know, I know, the damage boost of Cloak, but you really don't realize what a difference it makes until someone repeatedly has you do it.)

I'll still count that as a seal of approval. Honestly though, how rampant was the FBW/G/G before the patches? I played the single player campaign pretty much exclusively with a few ventures into bronze for galactic readiness until late last year. Total scrub here I know.

Yikes! Okay that also explains why when I was trying to wrap up my map challenge for firebase white with a preset the PUGS threatened to kick me or quit if I didn't set the enemy to Cerberus or Reaper (they also refused collectors).

Heh - I'm not sure it was *quite* that bad but it was a lot of gold games :)

Weirdly when they changed the map, FBW went from being one of my most hated maps to being one I actually really like... I still bail any preset FBW/G/G lobby though.

I overheard something the other day while I was trying to get in the lobby.
My game got stuck in loading screen but I could hear the lobby chatter and this guy was unloading on the rest (don't know who or how many, I wasn't really there).
I was waiting for 'WFOP' but it wasn't a drag, the guy was really mad going on how they have no idea how their kits work and how they should be played, and that they shouldn't even be in bronze...I couldn't stay for the rest but it made me lol. Too bad I didn't get to see who it was. I bet he was a BSNr.

I've had that before. I talked **** throughout the whole match with the douche in my best Volus voice. I would generally steal every kill from this guy and say "Pssk, I own you" which made him rage more and try even harder. Dude was playing a Bat soldier and ran into a spawn dropping inferno nades everywhere on wave seven versus Collectors, I threw a rocket in and blew his ass to high hell and then we had a lot of laughter and host migration.

"Way to be a team player, Gordian!"

This was while he and another PUG insisted on holding the Glacier: Hazard EZ the entire time, while I and a Fury were fighting our way out of a mob of three Dragoons, an Engineer w/turret, and a locust swarm.

I seem to be a magnet for dumb PUGs:

PUG1: <placing a kick vote on me> "I won't have a try hard s.o.b. in my lobby."

PUG2: <also places a kick vote on me> "get lost juggernaut ******"

PUG3: <refuses to vote kick me> "Let's wait these morons out"

PUG 1+2: <placing kicks on PUG3> "****** retards leave. this lobby is for serious and skilled players not whiny try hards"

PUG1: "Fine I'll ready up but I'm not saving you fairies"

PUG2: "Same"

-game ends- PUG3 was extremely competent and topped the scoreboard and I was in second. PUGs 1 and 2 both failed to get 15k.

Even funnier: the loadouts- My level 1 geth juggernaut came with a harrier and the stronghold package. PUG 1 was using a level 20 talon with a harrier 10, reegar 10, ap 4, cyclonics 4, and ar ramp 3. PUG 2 was a kroguard with the same loadout minus the harrier and shotgun amp instead. PUG 3 old fashioned Widow SI.

The game's difficulty: Silver
