Started using an alt account, so dropped in to a silver lobby with a very low N7. The lobby is hosted by a guy and his friend on mics, and the third pug is another low N7 player. Leader says loudly "oh great, we've got a couple of new guys, better make sure I can carry" and switches to a TGI with a PPR X and incendiary. Again, this is silver.

During the game, on dagger collectors, we then proceed to get a running commentary of what he presumably thought was helpful advice. Some of it might have been helpful for a newbie (praetorian bubbles), some was downright weird ("don't let the scions look at you" WTF?!?). Most was just patronising though.

The highlight came when he blew up a possessed abomination in front of the other pug, almost getting me too. In fairness he did warn us it was coming (hence I got far enough away to just get shield gated) but afterwards he started laughing and saying "I bet that's the first time they've seen that!"

After that, I decided to play the part of a dumb scrub who'd never seen an abomination before, and blew up a (sadly non possessed) one right next to him. He wasn't pleased.

Two different pugs last night and I had people bitching at me.
First was a juggy on gold Rio who complained on wave 10 of me following him around stealing his kills. I think I saw him maybe once a wave. I really can't help that the venom may have some collateral damage. Spent extraction on the far side of the map watching them take turns hitting the floor.
Second one was giant plat. Three relatively new players I assume. One who was very chatty. He bitched if I was near them, he bitched that I didn't warn him of enemies near him (I never once used my MIC, though I assume he must have thought I was shooting into empty spaces). Finally, on wave 10 it was a pizza delivery and all 3 bled out early in the wave. He bitched about the route on the first because he thought it was to direct. Then bitched about the second because it wasn't direct enough. Geth Scanner allowed me to see the Primes and Banshee waiting for me in the direction he wanted me to go. Unfortunately, a banshee hit me with an amazing warp ball shot (nothing, but net!) and I died with no gel left.
Heard all manner of lovely things from him. Who said "dead men tell no tales?" They never pugged ME3.

"I said, singularity doesn't work on armor, nor will it set off a biotic detonation - stop using it!", cried the deceased javelin + raider kroguard who kept getting sync'd by everything and had plenty of free time to comment. 

 

For good measure, I made sure I killed off the last scion with a singularity > shockwave > warp combo, turning to walk away just before the singularity detonated, and it died.

 

In all fairness though, if you only ever played the SP, I guess you might not know...

PUG Level 20 Fury: "OH!  I HAVE A FURY!  I HAVE ALWAYS WANTED ONE!  Okay, gun...I'm going to put a sniper on it."

Me: "Yeah I'd go with a shotgun or an SMG on a Fury man.  You're going to be up in the thick of things."

PUG Level 20 Fury:  "No, I'm good with a sniper because I can be far away for the enemies."

 

Sadly I got disconnected so I couldn't see the slaughter.

"You should see what this Drell's doing with a Raptor.  It must be at like level X - I swear he just took down a Brute in one clip. He must have hacked it somehow"

 

It's quite impressive what you can do with what was actually a level 1 Raptor when combined with the full TC and Recon Mine debuff and level 1 amps, along with full weapons passives.

 

Also heard recently, "Hey, yo, twiggy, dude, you need to put melee gear on your Juggernaut - that's what he's for."

Pugging plat because I like self-inflicted punishment. Whilst I was loading into the lobby I heard one guy telling his mate about the new assault rifle he'd just unlocked - the Striker. I knew it wasn't going to be good. Sure enough, jumped in to find two N7100-ish players, one currently equipped with a level 9 Volus adept

 

Another pug joins the lobby at the same time as me. The guy who had just been waxing about his new Striker says: "Hey, maybe one of these guys has a Juggernaut."

 

I left.

During a Pug a long time ago, I actually had a Pug that was worried for my safety.

 

 

(Match begins: Reapers/Rio/Platinum. Myself and 3 Pugs, who were clearly friends and very talkative, spawned in. 2 Juggs and an N7 Paladin. I played the Human Infiltrator.)

 

Pug1: Let's go to the box.

 

Pug2: Alright!

 

Pug1: Dude, KobeBean, get inside the box. It's not safe out there!

 

 

To their surprise, I didn't die all that much. Given the long line of sight I had on the enemies, most of them were actually dead before they could reach the box.

I turn off the in-game VOIP. I never have any issues with my pugs, I'm just playing for the distraction an stay where I belong (bronze/silver).

That's what I was doing till a gamer buddy of mine dragged me into Gold. Now I am pugging Gold like a scrub.

We will have to, because I've been playing D3 too much as it is - need to chill on it and get me some mass effects.  I still play ME1 and 2 as well.  I play ME3 for the MP.

Said by some idiot pug who had apparently been playing for 2 years and knew everything. He was trying to educate everyone on how to play and he blamed his constant death on being rusty at the game (even though he's apparently been playing for years). When I tried to argue against his nonsense (such as the Juggernaut being a free pass into Gold/Plat), he wouldn't listen.

 

Thankfully, one of the pugs realised that I might have a point after watching me clutch a wave and score 200k overall in that game. I just left immediately, invited the decent guy and started a new lobby. He didn't do that great (bad manifest), but he was willing to listen to my advice. Hopefully I'll be able to get him contributing to Gold games soon. Just need to teach him how to stay alive with something other than Juggernaut.

White Hazard/Geth/Gold

I was looking for Silver but got tossed into yet another all Spanish speaking Gold game on White (third time) around wave 2. I don't speak Spanish but I knew "pendejo" wasn't a complement. The insults ended around wave 7 after I kept reviving them with my TGI and worked at supporting them (KroGuard, Volus Adept and Quarian Engineer) they even started reviving me. Ended up 2nd on the board well behind the Volus, but still.

I guess that's more of a "When PUGs stop saying things", really.

I especially like how singularity, even though it does not damage them, stumbles armored targets.  I use it on Banshee's to get them to stop jumping around.
