Context: My name is pronounced Ran-ill-in, all three sounding like the actual english words I spelled them out as, just now. Not everyone seems to think it's quite as obvious as me, apparently.

"Rain? Rhine? **** it. Your name is now Ravioli!"
*Proceeds to call me Ravioli for the next 2 hours. I actually answered as if that was my name*
- One of the most awesome PUGs I ever had.

"Yeah, I respond to anything with an R besides ******, now. I even responded to Ravioli for a few hours!"
- Me, every time people worry about getting my name wrong.
 

Another amazing one was a team of 4 Geth against Cerberus. We all had mics but no one felt like saying much in the lobby. One person starts singing one line from "The Humans are Dead" by Flight of the Conchords after Wave 1. I sang the next line. Apparently we all loved that song, because we were onto the Binary solo in no time flat. It was great. The only breaks in the singing and laughing were "We don't have any toxic gasses to poison their asses!" "I have a flamer, they'll choke on the smoke, close enough!"

 

 

Another, more recent example was I dropped into a Lobby with my Cabal Vanguard and Hurricane X.

PUG 1: The cable effing sucks. No glitches to exploit, no explosions, nightshade blades are useless **** and- HURRICANE?  **** man, you trollin? So much crap!
Me: Uh, yeah, not to brag, but considering you're using a Mantis III on your AIU, you have no idea what you're talking about.
PUG 2: **** YOU! It's a goddamn infiltrator, you ******! What else is he supposed to use on it, a ****ing shotgun!?
Me: Read the rank 6 upgrade for the AIU's cloak. Shotgun? The answer is YES. Please, just read it.
PUG 3: Reading's for ******.
Me: So you're saying I get more ***** becaue I read. Awesome. Enjoy being forever alone.
PUG 3: .... ****, I did walk into that one, well played.

Me: Thank you.
PUG 1: HOLY **** YOU'RE RIGHT IT GETS SHOTGUN DAMAGE! **** that, though, sticking to snipers. Infiltrator master race!
Me: Master class. Race is like human or quarian or....
PUG 2: Cable still sucks, though!
Me: Let's just play. You'll see.

Over 200 000 points later, no one was saying anything. Until...

Me: So, the cabal sucks, huh? And the hurricane can't kill anything?
All three: THAT'S how you say it!?
Me: This is like Joker and the leather seats.
PUG 1: Who's Joker?
PUG 3: You never played the single player?
PUG 2: Single player's for ******.
PUG 3: ... yo, Ran, can I add you? I need better friends.

This was not a good morning for Juggernaut teammates

 

First Game: Giant/Reaper. A banshee has just thrown a warp ball on the ramp near the LZ so I decide to hit the Leeroy Jenkins button and engage.

Jugg: Warcat are you insane? Get away from that thing before she gabs you.

Me: You are aware a banshee can't grab you unless she's primed and on the same elevation right? I'll be fine until she tucks to scream then I'll run.

Jugg: Damn idiot. Fine go die in a -Jugg goes down to a ravager- 

-Later on another banshee. Juggernaut starts to retreat-

Pug: What are you doing drop a shield and stall her so we can flank.

Jugg: No way am I getting synced so you bumbles can laugh

 

Second Game: Collectors on Glacier

Jugg: I'm the juggernaut b**** -goes down and is stomped- This is wave 1

Jugg: Nothing can stop the juggernaut -goes down and is stomped- wave 2

Jugg: I'm invincible -goes down and is stomped- wave 3

Jugg: Uh what difficulty is this? -goes down and gets stomped- wave 4

Jugg: My friend told me not worry I could survive any difficulty as the juggernaut even at level 1 what a jerk. -see above- wave 5

Rest of the game is same story except the poor puggernaut had turned off his mic at this point.

They somehow decided it was a good idea to get grabbed by a Praetorian or as an alternative camp the open ground between reactor core and LZ --- bad idea when facing the Collectors --- . . . and get executed before I could get there (3 skulls in ~10s).

 

80s and no death later they all stood up again.

 

Apparently this PUG thought that I don't belong to "everyone".

Perhaps they were warning you that everyone else was down and now would not be a good time to follow suit

Last PUG I used drill rounds on my typhoon.

Puggernaut teammate: I'll quit if you shoot through me and kill my shield regen.

Hydra/Geth/Silver, the Krogan Warlord has all of 4300 points by Wave 9.  Upon getting downed for the 30th time, "JESUS!  These guys hit like TRUCKS!!"  *ragequits*

 

Lobby 3 games later, another pug, "I hate having Cloak on any character, because I feel it's a waste of a power slot"

OT: After playing about 3 weeks in silence, I finally ran into someone using mic. All he's said though was "Don't shoot f****g things f***!" as some abombs got involved with him and helpful teammates proceeded to shoot them off him. Needless to say, 8 waves later teammates proceeded to help others the same way, but I decided not to waste my breath.

You guys made me laugh more than I should have, thank you.

Anyways, I played Silver this morning, and actually met some pugs with mics. And I have a migrane now.

 

Pug: YO! RAN! KILLER STATS BRA, HELP A BRA OUT!?
Me: Maybe I'll consider it if you stop referring to us as feminine undergarments.
Pug: Don't be a pooper! You know you want to carass them with your silky smooth touch!
Me: Okay, that got a smile out of me, so what's up?
Pug: So I just unlocked the Quarian Infiltrator, and I want to know what shotgun I should use!
Me: Err, shotgun?
Pug: Yeah, shotgun! Katana, Scimitar, or Eviscerator?
Me: Okay, I'm going to walk you through my evaluation, can you follow some simple instructions so you see what I mean?
Pug: Sure thing, bra!
Me: Okay. Go into your powers screen.
Pug: Uh, okay? Not weapons?
Me: Not weapons. Look at Tactical Cloak.
Pug: Yeah, cloak! That's why I want shotguns, stealth in, boom boom!
Me: That's not a bad idea, but read rank 6.
Pug: Sniper rif- DA ****!?
Me: Only three infiltrators get something besides snipers as a specialty.
Pug: ****! ****! ****! ****! ****!
Me: If you want a shotgun infiltrator, you should try to unlock the Alliance Infiltrator Unit.
Pug: Oh. I already got that one. I made it my sniper so I wanted this one to be shotguns.

Pug: So, how do I set up the sexbot? No snap freeze?

Needless to say, I did help him out, but you get the idea.

After disconnecting from that one before too long, I ended up in a random game with a shadow and a slayer.

 

Shadow: GET TO DA CHOPPA!
Me: But it's not extraction wave!
Shadow: ***** WITH SWORD, SHE CHOP YA, SHE DA CHOPPA!
Me: Why would you try to get to the phantom?
Slayer: Epic sword fight time!
Me: Uh... riiiiight. Have fun with that.
Shadow: CHOPPA! CHOPPA! CH- ****! I got stabbed!
Slayer: I'll avenge you! *uses biotic slash in the open in front of a turret. Stomped within 2 seconds*
Me: ... I'm sorry. I think my mic is dying. I need to turn it off. Won't be able to hear you both for a bit.

 

 

And, lastly... I dropped into a lobby as a level 5 Base human Sentinel. Alongside an Asari Valkyrie.

 

Valkyrie: Never take Tech Armor on Sentinels, that's the key! Slows your power recharge!
Me: 50% Damage reduction, though. Basically like turning your 1000 shields into 1500.
Valkyrie: I'M TRYING TO SCHOOL SOME NOOBS, **** YOU!
Me: No offense, but you're using an Argus AND a Graal on a class that wants some cooldowns, and your advice is ditch the DR?
Valkyrie: GO CHOKE ON A VOLUS WIENER!
Me: Classy.
Valkyrie: Thank you.
Me: Now drop one of the weapons. You need better cooldowns.
Valkyrie: I RUN OUT OF AMMO SOMETIMES, OKAY!?
Me: First off, ammo crates are everywhere. Second, that's what powers are for.
Valkyrie: Oh. Right. Powers. They exist, don't they?

Infinitely better than some games where I have entered in progress to hear, 'player down!' only to see three skulls when I am able to move and clear out the level and then see this message come up.  'Wave Two'.

Oh, definitely. I just wanted to show him that he could be doing better on a more specialized build, is all. I did explain that he could leave Cloak at 4 with any weapon. Hell, I used to run my Drell Infiltrtrator with an Eviscerator back before I discovered the joys of Drill Rounds on the Javelin with a Recon Mine scouting through walls.

Indeed. I mean, sure, you can survive without the damage reduction, definitely, but two heavy guns = how are you even going to use your powers? They were both only level 1 or 2, meaning about a 20 second cooldown on warp even without the tech armor. Point being, making a mistake like that probably meant he wasn't the sharpest, meaning he'd benefit from the damage reduction, heh....

This happened the very first time I ever played the GI. Started off with 3 Marauders flanking me. Cloak, Prox Mine the floor, evade, 3 headshots with one trigger pull. "Wave 2." We had a volus with a spitfire, a krogan with a viper, and a *ragequits before he can see the 3rd person* >_<

Grinding waves with my TSent and I finally landed in a lobby with people who had mics and were speaking english.  There was a BF3 Soldier and a Talon Merc already in the lobby and a Fury that dropped in a little bit later.

 

Ended up being Reactor/Reapers.

 

2 waves in, the Talon Merc said, "Dude, the Phaeston is weak."

 

I ignored him (didn't feel like turning on my mic) and proceeded to outscore the entire lobby by at least 40,000 with it.  When we got back to the lobby, I looked at his trophy points and his loadout.  30 trophy points and he had the Vindicator I equipped.

I can only hope. If not then I'll take my satisfaction in my choice to be a hermit outside work. Also, Credit I didn't know you were a member of bsn, good game earlier tonight on giant (I was the quarian spamming incinerate and turrets like there's no tomorrow as my aim with my gun was terrible)

You know it was funny, I was thinking that how good it was to see more pugs choosing qfe's and also i was grateful to have someone else on the team that knew what they were doing
