Pick Up Game/Group is what it used to refer to or a match with randoms. The term PUG now extends to random played with within that group.

Ok, so PUGs mostly reffers to random guys?
I have seen that in most messages people reffers to pugs as something kind of negative, as if they were ignorant, noobs, funny clowns or idiots.
But according "random guy" definition, we all are pugs when looking for any match? Or have been one when started playing the MP and had no experience yet? Ô.ò

I preffer playing with a pug than playing with a smart+kown it all+*******+arrogant, some people just dont have experience but are nice people and players, just share knowledge with them to help them improve and you may end up with good player, person, bro in arms and even new friend.

Specially because there are assholes who lack social skills and they try to compensate it by being "the best player", just to have somekind of "power" (points or rank) to judge people and make them feel like they feel in real life: pathetic losers

Most players don't have character when they play, especially pugs matches. I find it always better to at least play with one friend so at least there will be some chatting going on. Its so ****** quiet in those pug matches though. Someone could fart in their mic and I don't think anyone would say anything. Are people afraid to talk over their mics?

 

PS: What do you mean American and their fixation on abbreviating expressions? Isn't emoting abbreviating expressions?

Had one pug drop in the other day as a Geth Juggy.  Gold/Reapers/Ghost.  Kept shouting to "Lead them to me!"  Most of the time I simply ignored him, but it was funny to watch as enemies crowded around him, especially boss hordes and he would go down, then follow it up with some of the following:
"Yeah, there were too many."
"Nuke it!"

He always walked directly towards the boss units and tried to melee them to death.  Didn't work out in his favor really.  New juggs are the best aren't they?

The other two players were decent, so the game turned out to be a lot of fun in the end.  Kinda funny too to look at the scores at the end and see a fairly even scoreboard with the juggy sitting at about half of 3rd place's score.  Fairly entertaining game to end the night on.

True most of the funniest **** I've seen has came with randoms. But some pugs just like to watch the world burn.

I wasnt trolling, I was expressing a valid opinion: worry that people here would have some kind of despise against people who dont have enough knowledge YET due to age or experience and prejudgmental to people. As if pugs were to you what jewish were to nazis, or occidentals to yihadists extremists... But as I read some explanations I come to realized that I was wrong about that worry

Havent played too often with people with mics, and the few times I have, mostly I was wishing for a mute button one of those guys was practically narrating the game and telling us what teammate fell and where, and where were devices and objects... Annoying. And that girl with the squeaky anime voice :S was ear drilling.

You do ~_~ GTO, BTY, YOLO, SWAG, BFF... Etc, etc, etc and so on... :S If I cant understand a word I just look for it in dictionaries and translations: piece of cake. But when I see an abbreviation I dont understand, I look for it in slang dictionaries or forums to ask and sometimes it seems some abbreviations have different meanings according to cultural use, or worst yet: subject to interpretation... WTF!?!?(at least this one is one those easy ones).

I still dont understand exactly what YOLO means, and I would like to laugh at that YOLO picture of Theon Greyjoy

Last night I'm playing with a guy in platinum who said. "OH dang my Missile Glitch didn't work because I only had one missile..." I LOL'ed and said "I have 255 of each but I can't lend you any.." to which he replied.. "OH, I have like 1000 thermal clips (cuz I never use them), 600 medigels, and like 400 ops pack just no missiles.." Later he goes down and says don't worry about me I have 4 medi gels I can use in every game, pretty cool huh?"

Me, brickracer, this superhero, 1 other set reaper/giant/plat where superhero proceeds to die multiple times per wave including several bleed outs.

End result, we did carry him to extraction but I don't recall if he made it. This was like 5 weeks ago?

Edit: OK I'm sure I died several times per wave too but he was the lone wolf running off to the middle of map making revive impossible.just trust me it was bad. Like worse than when I always die wave 1

This guy joins a game in progress around wave 3 of reapers/white hazard/gold and proceeds to die 5-6 times per wave. Me and the other 2 manage to revive him most of the time and keep him going until he finally gets on the mic and starts moaning about how bad his character is and that he usually 'destroys' platinum, this goes on for a while and then every time one of us revived him he kept shouting "stop reviving me, I want to die" so we granted his wish and he soon quit.

 

I had a hard time believing that he "destroys" plat so I had a quick look on his N7HQ.....

 

He had a total of 17 bronze extractions....

you are obligated to outscore everyone else when playing drell adept. The only case where you can be outscored and not be ashamed is if there's another drell or flamer (who unprimes your BE)
It is however reasonable for new players to dislike drelldept since he's pretty bad without grenade capacity.

This isn't about what they say, but what they do. I had some pug reegar AIU in three consecutive plat games who got downed an average of at least six or seven times per wave. They'd just run off on their own, do the usual reegar AIU things, but refused to use cover at all. In each game, everyone else got tired of trying to revive them and just let them bleed out round after round.

Rofl I just had two of the funniest games EVA!!

 

There were 2 pugs who were fairly new (one was a Vorcha Sentinel and the other played a Volus who pretty much only shield boosted) and another guy who I recognized from sometime before. Anyway, the following is some of what I heard:

 

(oh... Platinum btw lol)

First map was preset Giant and I almost left right away but everyone was on mic and they seemed like a good group so I stayed

Volus: Katana, huh? And you have the Claymore I

Sentinel: Yeah no way I'm using that though, waaaay too heavy

Volus: Yup

(I switched to a FHI w/ Claymore for the match)

 

2nd map they changed it to Rio versus Reapers

Volus: How about changing the enemy, we just played against Reapers

Sentinel: Yeah let's do Geth

3rd Guy: The easiest for me, in my experience on Platinum, has been the Collectors

Volus: Collectors, huh?

Sentinel: Yeah they do have the easiest mooks but...how about Cerberus? They're fucking pussies.

(switched enemy to cerberus and awaaaaay we go!!)

 

Mid match

Volus: How do I have 10K points? I've killed maybe 5 guys but I've been shield boosting this whole time.

Sentinel: Wait - you missiled those 2 banshees, remember?

Volus: Oh yeah

 

Later

Sentinel: You know I was thinking; we'd be invincible with a Geth Juggernaut, a Volus next to him to boost shields and a 3rd guy to do some damage.

Volus: What about the fourth guy?

Sentinel: Oh he'd be there for moral support

Volus: Oh...I'm the moral support, aren't I?

Sentinel: (laughs) Yeah, but its important. Nobody wants to fight without moral support

 

Towards the end:

Sentinel: Oh man, look how much ark and mookie (the 3rd guy) have done! Sorry about not being too helpful guys

Volus: Yeah thanks for everything guys

Sentinel: Oh man ark has over 200K! Thanks for carrying us ark!

Volus: ...actually I think I'm technically carrying us, as I'm on the bottom with 12k. You're all above me.

Sentinel: Oh ****, you're right. NIce work!

Volus: Yeah ark, maybe you should get better at this game so I don't have to carry as much

(now I'm almost laughing out loud)

 

Sentinel and Volus continue to play off each other and "berate" me and mookie for another minute or so and I just lose it (maybe the wine had something to do with it)

 

 

 

God there was sooo much more they said but I can't remember! If only I could record...

 

 

I wish y'all had been there, it was quite entertaining.
