Oh, it's more than true that also Finnish sounds really harsh and intimidating with our staccato-like syllables shooting out like from a Revenant, and sharp R's rolling in every other word. I guess German sounds like a lullaby compared to that - at least that's what some of my old Italian friends always say.
Definitely heard that one before. Another typical remark I've encountered has been that Finnish sounds "gibberish" or "made -up", like "that language can't be real". Although this has been from a people whom probably didn't recognize the language being spoken (like as an example, couple times when I've shoot some breeze in Finnish with my buddies while waiting a lobby to fill up in ME3). Of course this is quite understandable, considering how distant Finnish is from widely spoken languages of the world.
Finnish sounds angry or aggressive I've heard quite often from foreigners living in Finland, but I cannot but wonder how much of that is influenced by the way Finns speak it. I mean, the reservedness, lack of small talk, restrained gestures, laconic and to the point way of talking and so on. Like I find Italian to be quite pleasant sounding and melodic, but speaking with or listening actual Italians tends to be something between insufferable to taxing, especially if there's a group of them (caveat, this is not a judgment on the fine people themselves, but a cultural difference them and me).

Culture, language--none of it matters.
What matters is that Finland is the nation of hot gamer chicks.

That's all well and good, if you are a ME playboy like TheBunz*, but what a guy like I am going to do with that information? The only upside I see from my irl courting is not getting sprayed.
*Too bad I don't see him around anymore. If I had to guess he's been banned, which is shame. The man had some character in him.
Finland is awesome.

Yeah agreed, except the whole country is full of Finns. Otherwise not bad, except during winters, most of the autumn and spring (9-10 months a year I say).

Héll yeah, a-ha a-ha!
Quickly back on topic:
Pugs being called out on not doing missions, actually (first) nicely asking them to join the rest of us in the circle... and they reply with the legendary: "I don't have to do any of those missions, because I'm the host, son." Sigh on so many levels.

Last night,
dropped in on wave 1 giant / reapers ...... a guy and a girl are talking ..... she says..." oh my god, how many more enemies are going to keep coming?" ...he says.. " Well, we set it to gold, so I don't really know" ....her reply..."what does that mean?" ....as I am loading in....thinking, this is going to be fun. They greet me at the LZ.....he says...." whats an incisor?" ....she says..."oh, look...we have tali for a team mate." ...wave 3 happens ....she says " oh no...not the g-damn banshees...I hate them...how many of them are there going to be?" .................
Why must you always steal my likes?

My mother's family would agree. She grew up in the Iron Range vicinity of northern Minnesota...on a farm with a house full of smartass farting Finns. Plus with a little wooden sauna built right next to the outhouse.

^ Clearly they had already been americanized or something, as that is the wrong place to build a sauna -- they don't exist next to outhouses in the home country, usually far from it.
Smartassness I do understand, though. ![]()

My grandmother passed away 30+ yrs ago, but yes you're right, now that you mention it...the outhouse was at the entrance to the path through the woods, and the sauna was a bit further down.
