I have a N7-12 adept and it was completely viable for gold.
Also seems not to get any kicks.

It hardly sux, I use it on plat all the time just to prove this common misconception to be false. With the right class/mods/consumables and softcover usage it just melts everything. (hint try hip firing on any hunter mode class)

Ended up 1st. Carried the team and had to solo four ****ing waves as a Lvl1.
P1 left as soon as we got back into the lobby while P3 congratulated me.

Playing as TGI, level 13: Javelin XI, Sniper rail amp III, Headshot Gear bonus (I forget the name), Power recharge amp 3, AP rounds 4:

PUG1: "Haha, dude! Look at this moron, using a geth to snipe. We should boot'em; he gonna fail.
PUG2: "Nah, I wanna see him ragequit later; plus, well, meatshield!"
PUG3: "you two are idiots; the GI's gonno own you..." *leaves*
PUG2: "Wimp."
New PUG3 joins; "Hey! so you all ready???"
*game starts*

Before I go on, I must give you the low-down on their load-outs:
PUGs 1+2: Basic Male Human Soldier, Only Adrenaline and Frags, on both. Using an Avenger 10 and a Talon 1 for pug 1, and a Geth pulse rifle 4 only for PUG2.

PUG3 was a kroguard, lvl 20. 'Nuff said.

I proceeded to outscore them ALL. Went down? Hell no. Revive Medal? Gold. Headshot Medal? Gold. Grab Medal? Gold. Kill total medal? Gold. Assist Medal? Silver. Headshot Medal? Gold.

I did ALL the objectives, because the idiots kept getting gut-shanked by phantoms...

End-of-game report convo:

PUG1:.... "&^%$*& you, ****." *disconnects.*
PUG 2: *Dissconnects*
PUG3: "THAT **** WAS AWESOME!!!!"

I proceed to play two more games with PUG3, he does good. Go figure!

How do so many of you end up playing with people who speak? O_o I play on the Xbox and NOBODY talks aside from geniuses who decide the Kinect is the perfect microphone... but I do love hearing the dad (typically the one playing) trying to play and watch his kids at the same time.

The most interesting PUG I had was some dude on Firebase White who I believe was playing as a level 1 Drell of sorts back when I was playing on Bronze. He repeated every damned line the announcer said until he went down somehow and then proceeded to loudly rage about how powerful enemy grenades were.

Pug 1: Fine, just don't expect me to revive your ass.
Pug 2: Seriously, just let him bleed out when he goes down.


Less then 20 seconds later.
Pug 2:DUDE GET OVER HERE!!!
Me: Why, does the expert need help?
Pug 1: Come on! *goes down*

Then I stroll the the LZ like a boss and start laughing at everybody that went down. Mean? Yes, but definately worth it

I played a game yesterday (Gold /Cerb / White) with three PUGs and it was...fascinating.

I was leveling up my AA (was level 9 at game start) and was intrigued by the conversation being had by two of my three fellow team-mates. So much so, I actually didn't mind clutching three waves for them as they inevitably found themselves sync-killed (or stomped). Needless to say, they appeared quite new to Gold.

Bear in mind, they had pleasant general American accents (GAm). This worked in their favor.

PUG1: "Watch yourself--I can hear a phantom...she's behind me...somewhere."
PUG2: "I got three in a pack, just got to...oh [sync-killed].
PUG1: "Wait...oh...****!...[shoots his pistol: no amps or ammo-- gets, quite rightly, sync-killed as a result].
PUG2: "Yeh...erm...yeh."

PUG3 didn't always die...but that was it. I think his final score was 12000. Interestingly, and with a sense of mischief, I began to trivialize phantoms in front of the now dead and spectating other players:Stasis+Paladin X+Cranium mod V+Warp III+Pistol Amp III head-shots (i.e. death in 1 to 2 shots). I wanted to somehow drive home the importance of using Gold level equipment.

Upon completing / clutching the wave:

PUG1 or 2: "Well done guys*".

*Note guys--plural. Even though PUG3 hardly killed a-n-y-t-h-i-n-g! I found this part strangely amusing.This was repeated at the end of each soloed / clutched wave I finished.

It didn't end well at extraction...all three headed straight for the LZ i-m-m-e-d-i-a-t-e-l-y and, well, nature took it's course.

I was actually laughing by this time. I think my score was 150K or something. I didn't care. All that mattered was I leveled up to level 13 or 14.

Moral of the story?

There isn't.

But there is this: "******-poor performance resulting from poor or non-existent equipment is ******-poor."<3
