[The Amethyst Dragon]

This month's challenge is "Drow Stuff":

Creatures: related with drows like the draegloth, yochlol, web golem, drow mounts (spiders, lizards), etc. Even some overwrites of the no dynamic drows in the aurora tollset would be nice... Drow equipment: Armors, clothes, weapons, etc.... Drow tilesets: We have some underdark tilsets, but i would like to have a truly original Drow city, no a reskin of an elven city or any other existing tileset; With stalagmites and stalactites buildings in the style of AD&D manual "Menzoberranzan".... Drow heads also could be nice; for example we don'thave to much elf female heads, that could work well for a drow matron....

This theme was suggested by Shemsu-Heru.

Guidelines:

• It must be fully working in game.
• Use of vanilla NWN or publicly available texture is fine, though state-of-the-art amateur's work would require 100% original work, but that's up to you.
• Teamwork is welcome.
• Beginners most welcome, don't be afraid, just try, you'll be surprised!
• All submissions must be finished, working, and emailed to NWNCCCMakers@gmail.com (or a non-Vault link provided) by May 1st, 2013 at 10 AM EST. Sooner than that is perfectly fine too. ;-)

Somethings you could include in the download/email that would make packaging everything up easier and faster:

• 2da lines needed.
• Screenshot *from in game* for use on the vault page (this also gives me hints on how to display the new goodie).
• Portraits (if needed) of your new goodie. ** Placeables and monsters should include a portrait. **
• Inventory icons (if needed) of your new goodie.
• Any credits you would like listed.
• If this is your first entry, please tell me what name you would like your work listed under and provide a link to your other NWN content if you want that displayed as well (the link bit is totally optional).
• Also if you would like an invite to the CC Makers group, send Rolo Kipp a friend invite. The group is nothing spectacular, mostly just documentation on 2da lines.
• If you are doing tileset content, *please* let me know ahead of time so I can get you the set and itp files to work with. I’m horrible at merging those so this bit you will need to provide.

Remember, the Challenge is all about fun, sharing, creativity and surprise!

Hey there! I look at the vault each month to see what great things you guys come up with for possible hak updates for the server I design on. Having fiddled around a while now with underdark designs I am very excited for what will be done for april's challenge.

I have a few suggestions of materials that I would love to get my hands on especially for area design, next to neat additions such as draegloth, heads and new clothing opitions!


PLCs!

• Natural stalactite and stalagmite PLCs. (From massive to small sizes, textured to blend into the rock of the underdark tileset)
• Worked stalactite and stalagmite PLCs. (Worked into the drow fashion of houses with balconies, glowing windows and such.)
• Webbing PLCs (We got a few vertial webs but no diagonal or horizontal ones, and neither do we have wrapped up victims suspended from the ceiling!)
• Stone Webbing PLCs (Vertical, horizontal and diagonal ones for a Chad Nasad look!)
• PLCfied Tileset Parts (There are quite a few things that can be drawn out from the tileset that would be great for any designer. For instance the drow spider-web table (2x2 room drow interior tileset), the drow bed (bedroom group for drow interior tileset), and the decorative cage (2x2 room drow interior tileset)
•     Drow Luxury PLCs (Rich dark colored cushions, couches and carpets, drow art scuptures.)

Underdark Tileset Additions!:

• Additional Bridges (Bridges made out of webs turned stone like in Chad Nassad and just general wooden suspended bridges.)
•  Platform Buildings (Addition to the chasm tile. If we could have stalagtite and stalagmite buildings sorrounded by platforms like in the Baldur's Gate Ust'Natha that would be unbelievably cool.)
•  Alternative to the unworked stone ground to give the appearence of a city and not just a settlement. (Menzoberranzan for instance has left little of terrain in it's nautral shape, but has worked it into a smooth, unbroken, unjointed expanse of rock shaped toward drow sensibilities.)
• Stone worked stairs instead of only slopes to get from lower to higher ground.

I'm wondering if there are any way to overwrite the dynamic Drows, from HOTU in the aurora toolset?.

I' would like to change colors and shapes, just only with Bioware resources in game. Just because I never have been too happy with the originals. For example red parts in drow armors should be purple in my opinion, also horned helmets are more apropiate for the Duergars than for the Drows, and finally. And this is the most annoying for me, is the fact that drow warriors are wearing a shield. I would give to they a long sword in one hand and a short sword in the other, and at least "Dual fighting style" Feat to any of they.....

I'll be making alternate drow "monsters" and maybe two drow-related monsters, including many of the minis you can get for DND mini's from around 4th edition scope. I hope to release a prototype of my DEX/CON/STR phenotypes with custom fighting styles and casting cycles for each pheno and these new models will make use of that pheno set. These will NOT be PC models, but should be as detailed as say "Halaster" in quality. More minion-y drow may be less detailed. Also expect a skinned draegloth based on last month's Glabrezu entry. I'll be using covers from official content with an occasional third party representation, for my inspiration. Draegloth is basically finished, just needs some nodes welded to keep shadows from crashing the skin on unload.

Spider Swords: Long sword, Short sword and a dagger.



They are made from a Morrowind MOD made by Silaria, "Spider sword"; However I had to remade the models, Because the original had too much faces...

So far so good. Those are nice creatures and swords guys. The one thing that comes to mind when drow weaponry is mentioned, for me at least, are the drow hand crossbows ever since Drizzt mentioned them in the second Icewind Dale book. Sorry I have no pics to illustrate them with. It's just a thought.

@Shemsu-Heru One could say the same for swords... No criticism intended. I was just thinking that an alternative design might be in order, Perhaps based on the look of a spider's web for the string.
