I stopped promoting when I hit 420 but then something made me go on a promoting spree. Stopped promoting again shortly before Earth DLC came out.

yes
I've done the n7 challenge ~3.5 times
I like level 1 characters because they force me to do a weapons build which in turn allows me to really concentrate on keeping my aim in tip-top shape. Headshot training with a carnifex on silver (or some other weapon).

Not any more since I got N7 mastery. That burnt me out on promoting.

because 9000
LOL I'm at 9000 too... and staying there forever. F promoting... complete waste of time/energy and it just gimps your team and yourself.
I was at 6660... then the stupid banner thing happened. It was the only banner grind I hated.

Stopped once I got the N7 challenge done.
Actually that's a lie, I did one last promotion to push my N7 to 3000, but I'm done promoting for good now.

Only promoted 2 classes for a weekend challenge once. I have no reason to ever do it again.

Currently doing N7 mastery - my last challenge to get BotB. 9 promotions to go, after that never again.

after i get the N7 banner and get all the character cards, only if i wan to try out multiple different kits for a class.

I did 7 more after N7 Mastery just to reach N7 3000, just because.

I still promote. It's more of a personal challenge then anythings else beings bioware stopped issuing new challenges of their own.

Only when I want to respec multiple characters in one class. Promote > 2 respec cards. Although I have good luck getting repec cards, I am very stingy and rarely use them.

Yep, because its motivation for me to start a new Character/Build from the beginning.
+1, I like promoting myself, feels more challenging going into a game with a low level character also.

I promote so my War Assets properly reflect the competency of my playable characters. (AKA: are worth loads more than even the Leviathans) And also for the N7 challenge. (Thank you Citadel DLC for helping me justify those extras as team spirit and cohesion)

I'm at 1499... Got to keep promoting to add to war assets so I can get the "good" Indoctronation Ending in single player.
Nah, just joking. I've got 12 more promotions to reach the 60 and then I am DONE!!!

Not as often as I used to do, but it is a free respec card for an entire class so why not?

Nope. All it took was one promotion to realize how pointless promoting is to me (especially since I'm not going for N7 or Best of the Best).
N7 120 (150 on Xbox 360) and proud.

Now that the N7 challenge is done, I'm thinking why bother (as if there really was a good reason to begin with)? Except maybe to respect a kit if I'm, out of the respec cards?
Back when I was terrified of not being Level 20 for fear of low health and low ability as well as the dreaded insta-kick I did not. Now that I have changed my style and am reigning in my kamikaze tendencies (must walk through this big **** Brute to do this revive--it makes PERFECT sense!) I have been promoting regularly. I think there is a requirement for the Mass Effect/BoTB banner so I will probably continue at least until I have it. That is, if I can stand playing all these kits I don't really care for. I am a *horrible* infiltrator and engineer (especially Salarian) and wish I could opt out of them somehow.

Only if I have no respec cards and I want to change a build.
