 I'm constantly getting thrown into games with Talons who just spam their grenades into crowds of enemies and just about everything else, every Talon I have played with has done this and nothing else as a main offensive. An I the only one getting this?

That's like a Krogan that doesn't headbutt, or an Asari that won't put out.

What else is the character for? You can get over 5000 damage a mine if you set it up right and bring weapons with the power increases. He can carry 13 mines in my setup with grenade gear equipped, what else would I do with them? I'm not going to waste them on arrows. Fire off enough and it's as good as rocket and gets easy kill steaks. I manually detonate them during a round (4th one explodes the 1st) and then setup traps at spawn points for the next round. Good enough for platinum.

Don't worry, Devoidparanoia, you're not the only one meeting only bad Talons.
Those who don't realize the full potential of the Omnibow are too many they have cinvinced themselves they walk the only true path.

I jumped into a silver match with my Talon and it ended up being on Reactor against Collectors. Wave 9 I saw two Praetorians spawn and I spamed Cain Mines till they died. Only took 4 mines to kill them both. The rest of the match I was spamming my Omni-bow with Armor-piercing arrows. I didn't even shoot my Harrier once.

This was post-buff.

If I see a talon in a pug lobby set on glacier. I leave. just sitting at the top of the stairs spamming them all game... But lately most talons I come across are using the omni-bow constantly.. Ya know.. Because its awesome.

Spamming Cain Mines is as bad as Infiltrators using cloak.

Because that's the most effective way to play the Talon, not that I play the Talon at all.

I decided to PUG platinum this evening and see what was going on, first group was very low N7 and CP but I figured what the heck they had gear, a Juggy and two Talon's, we did U/U, first map ended up being Giant/Cerb, I took the trooper....OMG we just followed the Juggy around two Talon's on the team is just amazing, one of these new guys pulled 186k...Impressive:) Second game I switched to a Talon as well for fun, host selected Glacier/Reepers.....just over 23 min, think we may have used 3 rockets in total.

If a Talon is on the team and wants to spam their nades, more power to them.

I love using the Talons Omni-Bow!

Cain Mines are only for emergencies! ^.^

I use them when there's a group of enemies surrounding a downed teammate, in a dire situation during objectives, and then on Extraction if a boss is in the Extraction Zone! ;D

I use both of his arrows, the Concussive for Troopers after a few Falcon Cryo shots then I have the Hurricane for Bosses as well as the Armor Piercing Arrows!

Funny thing is I remember as everyone was calling for the AIU to be nerfed, I was using the Talon the whole time thinking "Uhm... has nobody noticed the insanity of these mines..."

Then they made him even better. LOL

The mine is a poor choice for chock point control. The lesser creatures are far more likely to detonate. So better off spamming into crowds.

I use Cain mines and the Omni-bow, but I guess I'm just crazy like that. Put a few mines in choke points around me and nothing ever sneaks up on you. Well, they try...

Yea, well, he's also a glass cannon so it's balanced out pretty well.
