You should know by now that BioWare's sense of humor is the bizarre/nonexistent kind.

Which is strange since their games is filled with great humor. Well, in my opinion at least.

Citadel proves they still have an excellent sense of humour, IMO.
There were several occasions when I literally laughed out loud.

You're confusing a fun company with a company doing damage control.

Nah. They weren't required to put the work into the DLC that they did.

Not required to, but it's a good idea to leave fans with at least one good memory of ME3 if they want the next one to be a success.

Ergo,, damage control.

Wow, Bioware just can't catch a break here. They release a **** DLC "EAware sucks! They're just trying to make a quick buck". They release good DLC "Its just damage control".

I really disliked the endings both pre and post EC, but I don't think of Citadel as Damage Control. Why? If it was damage control then it would be free.

Indeed. The Citadel DLC looks like it has plenty of just the kind of humor I like.
I've watched a few highlights on youtube and I literally laughed out loud as well. Image IPB

Bioware is beyond merely April fools day pranks - their games are pranks for the rest of the 364 days.

There hasn't been anything from Bioware PERIOD, since the Citadel DLC. They are done with ME3.

The lack of a prank is the prank.

And that's why Citadel had a completely different tone as the rest of the game, right?

Edit ME3 may have a fan base, but a lot of people still felt burned both by ME3 and EC even a year later.  Those are potential lost sales for later games

Burned by the EC? Yea okay I think you're overstating things in many ways. The Citadel DLC is not damage control. If Bioware feels that they've lost a huge audience then they would have done more ending DLC.

Y'know, I'm actually fine with one less online prank today.

It tends to feel like a wasted day. I'd personally rather see personally used on better things, rather than wasted by creating obviously fake features/articles. The only thing that was even remotely interesting this year was GW2's Super adventure Box, and I can't remember anything of note from the past five years.

So, I can't help but agree.

I'm still trying to figure out what the reddit thing was all about, other than me placing hats on top of everyone's name.

The Citadel DLC was much needed, even if the ending was good. Many moments of the game are sad or depressing, so to have the Citadel DLC provides a much needed diversion.

For me Citadel DLC was the ending, and it can be headcanon'd that way.

I don't see the Citadel DLC as damage control at all.

It's a meta-prank.

Along similar lines, I've often thought it would be a fun meta-prank to hide behind a door until somebody walks by, then jump out and scream "PRAAAAAAAAANK!" at them as loudly as possible, then walk away.

Yeah! It's Bioware after all.
The prank has to be ambiguous of course; You don't want to be spoon fed the whole joke now do you?
Just headcanon you own joke and deal with it! Image IPB

They gave us the ME3 ending and DA2. I think that's more than enough jokes for one company.

They already unleashed the biggest prank in history. It was called Mass Effect 3. No others needed.

- Think about it; how many players reached that point and were still waiting for the actual ending or replayed it thinking they did something wrong only to find out BioWare got 'em good.

"Every day millions of people die"
"Party time"
It was a fan service. It had little to do with story of ME3 I enjoyed it, I do not consider it to be a part of storyline. It was intended as good bye with a series and as such I enjoyed it. In context of 'I want to kill Kai Leng, but lets have a party first. That doesn't fit too well.
Was it to improve PR? Yes. But what game intends to do the opposite?
Was it a damage controll? Only in effect, but it was not intended as such.

Not really ME3 story or campaign related.

End of line.
