I weep for Dragon Age : Inquisition.
Next thing we know, everyone get the Taint, and everyone becomes a bloodmage, single class walking zombie that calls this :

"Mommy".

Didn't he call us toxic long before ME3 was out? Anyway. I'm not sure we're all that rabid.... But I come here from the WoW forums.

Don't you dare.

My Shepard is Major Tom.

Yep. Guess he's evil?

See, that's the biggest failing of these endings. No matter what you pick, someone will think you're evil. That does not help the fanbase.

That's what you get when you choose controversy over closure when you write endings

I like the tone BioWare achieved with the control ending, too.

He liked it for more than his part in voice-acting it, if that's what you're getting at.

He said something to the effect of ~ it's cool to see Shepard become a Reaper god.

Does it really matter which ending anyone in particular likes?

As I said earlier:

As long as he doesn't decide to optimal solution to solve the mage-templar conflict is to forcibly turn everyone on Thedas into abominations, does his preference in ME3 really matter?

This is more what I'm worried about....

You're just mad because that sloth made a Slow Burn adventure to space, while you never got there, Taboo.

Heathen.

My Shepard finished the game while your slow behind was still getting into his armor.

Did you know Sloths only go once a week? What happens to you in battle?

David Gaider chose Synthesis. Interestingly, he didn't have the peace option on Rannoch, so he sided with the quarians. He also wasn't thrilled to discover that a peace option was possible.

Anyway, can we finally just accept that people who choose Synthesis are not megalomaniacal racists who wish to bend the universe to their will? It's a valid ending option with shades of gray, just like the other choices. Yes, it's loaded with pseudoscience and mysticism, but there are ways to get around the poor writing. If you don't like it, then pick one of the other endings. Picking Control does not mean that you approve of dictatorships, and picking Destroy does not mean that you are a neo-Luddite.

I think its quite understandable.

People choose synthesis for all kinds of reasons and since stuff are not explained in the game, people read in all sort of things into their ending and the options presented to Shepard. Pre-EC I hated the ending (now I just concider it sub-par to the trilogy) but though synthesis was the best option from the perspective of my Shepard (who basically wanted to save as many as possible and try to address the root causes of problems).

but once the EC came out, and it was all explained a bit more, it dawned on me that it would be better to buy the galactic community some time, think things over while at the same time stopping the reaper aggression. So my Shepard chose to control the reapers as it meant preserving everything, including the means toward synthesis, but without imposing it on the entire galactic community.

We only go once a week because our bodies are more efficient than your primitive Shepard's.

Sloths have been reported on numerous occasions to mistake their own arms for tree branches and fall to their death because they grab them.

I think he also didn't care for Shepard lying in a pile of rubble. I'm sure many Destroyers can sympathize with that.

Ya'll worry too much, really. Writers like a lot of things, it doesn't always influence them or other writing teams that they aren't involved with. And if you really don't like the direction they are taking with themes and the like, you don't have to like what they produce. But that doesn't make them "wrong" for wanting to tell a story you don't personally find credible or enjoyable.

Believe me, I understand what there is to dislike about the ending, but people are only responsible for their own actions.

Making accusations of other people for the ending they pick is childish, arrogant, and completely unfair.

Fans need to take responsibility for their conduct, no matter how angry they may be.

BTW, I've been posting here since before the ME3's release and the ensuing fiasco. This place is plenty toxic, so let's not kid ourselves about that one! It's not all on the fans, bad moderating plays a big part, but BSN has carried notority before the ending. And that they're always looking to pin the blame for how they behave on other things is the reason why.

Me, I'm just hoping for A solution. Though my first Dragon Age 2 playthrough was pretty hilarious.

Hawke: I'm pretty sure mages are fine. Look at my sister! Look at those kids.... over there.... Setting a puppy on fire and siphoning its blood.

Hawke: Well, Fenris, you make some salient points, but most mages can be responsible and if I turn around, there's going to be blood magic, isn't there?

Hawke: Well, Orsino, I get where you're coming from. I promise I'll try to take care of the situation discretely and avoid stirring up any more trouble. After all, we wouldn't want.... MOM!

Hawke: Well, Meridith, you've clearly gone too far. And Orsino, your people have been up to some really naughty things. But if we sit down and talk this out like reasonable adults I'm sure we can.... Maker damnit, Anders....

Actually, I'm pretty sure I know why being able to make peace between the geth and the quarians surprised him.
