A couple of hours ago I was pugging with a GI Javelin after reading a thread on here about him and realizing I hadn't used him in a long while.

The first couple of matches were pretty aweful, I was lagging like hell. My connection isn't great so it's pretty rare for me to have a smooth, not-lagfest game. These games were no exception.

Luckily, after some games I stumbled upon a host that was quite good for me. He also happened to be a pretty good player, and the other two were almost competent.

The first match happened to be Geth/Rio and it went quite smooth. Ok I was playing Javelin GI and therefore basically cheating, but the game was much less painful than how that combo usually is.

The next match was on Giant/Cerberus and... It was perfect.

I was playing so, so good. Much more than I usually do. I think I died once in the entire game. I missed so few shots. I always predicted the spawns perfectly. Got more than a few double/triple kills, and they were actually intentional and not casual. I pulled off a few shots which would have been at home in Sy7ar's videos, or even Jay's. My only regret is that I didn't record the game

I even got one of the guys to say something like "Hey, you handle that Javelin quite well!" ^_^

I was quite amazed by the performance, to be honest. And I have really no clue what it's due to. But it's happened to me before, and will probably happen again, once in a while.

So, what about you? Do you ever get one of those games in which you can't believe the silly things you're able to pull off, things you were so amazed to see in better players' vids; in which everything seems to flow perfectly and you find yourself at the end of the match asking yourself if it was really you playing all along?

Stuff I've pulled off with my Paladin's Omni-shield is downright heroic on occasion.

I've been in the zone too, a few times. That also happens to me more with GI+Javelin. It's like heads are lining perfectly, doing zero unecessary movements. It feels both great and mentally exhausting when that lasts too long.
Oddly enough, the last time i had that feeling was this weekend playing the Volus merc(CSMG+Acolyte) for the lulz(i never play Volus) in a plat game. The team was just bad, yet we made it into a 35mn extraction: i killed everything, revived everyone, kept them alive pretty well considering the situation, saw every enemy; i felt the game. The kit is crap, but that game was somehow glorious for me.
In fact my wrist hurt afterwards! :P

Loved those matches. It was always awesome to look down around Wave 9 or so, and realize that I hadn't used a single consumable, everything was going so well.

Happened to me once. While running a SI with my shiny Widow X(decided to get back to it as I leveled it up) I hit up on Dagger/Cerberus. Boy was my aim good. I was really sorry I couldn't check my headshot count as I've gotten the 20hs medal at the beginning of wave 3.

Not necessarily a perfect game for me, but on one wave during a trio gold on Glacier last night I (Asari Valkyrie) was dancing around 2 banshees, 2 brutes and a ravager in the basement and barely got touched. It felt exhilarating, but I was not able to repeat the groove on later waves.

That's a great feeling. Funny. I've been using Javelin GI lately, too. I also hadn't played him in a while. Same wavelength here.

I think the first time I used the Suppressor, it was wtih a TSoldier with a Hurricane back up. I got 20 headshots by the beginning of Wave 3 (all Suppressor use). Everything felt clean and clear that entire game, and there was basically no thinking involved.

I haven't done the same since. I actually thought it was the Suppressor that was amazing at the time (which it is) and didn't attribute it to my gameplay at all. Now, depending on the faction, I'd probably get the 20 headshot medal during the 2nd half of the game.

I think my most perfect match was against Reapers/Dagger, playing as TSent with Hurricane and Warp Ammo, with an Asari Justicar hosting. We spent the whole match spamming BEs like crazy, cutting down bosses in seemingly no time at all. Whole game was so fast and smooth I had to double-check I wasn't in Silver.

Found out later the host was a BSNer and in the same country as me. Go figure.

Yes. I suck at marksmanship so if I hit 20 headshots in three to four waves I'm having a helluva game.

I'll give you 3...

1. An all Sniper Gold match on Reactor against Geth.

We just held the LZ area for the whole match. Sounds dull, but it was really great fun, and the first time I topped the board in Gold as a Sniper.

2. The first time I carried a Gold match even though it was an epic wave 10 fail.  It felt good.

3. Last night my first ever Platinum match.  We wiped on wave 5 but mostly due to the two no hopers who had no idea and went down every wave about 3 times each.

Well I've been questing to find Gold PUG matches, and by being VERY choosy, had a great match a few days ago where 2 of them had level 1 equipment , one had nothing, I put on my level 2 or 3 equip  on salarian Infiltrator with krysae. I think the top score had 120k, I had 109k, the others had around 100k. I died once and was revived, and I used up 1 ops pack. The other 3 did die a fair amount, but never all at once, and someone was always there to revive them, and if not they did eventually use medigel. No one needed to rocket anything because we all worked together even tho no one had mic on. They did muck up wave 10 pizza delivery but i saved it. They also rushed to LZ and died a lot but we still got full extraction. NICE.

Very rarely, most of the time I feel like I'm playing well below my best ability.

Yesterday I had a particularly bad one, it was like a wave 7 or 8 wipe against Collectors on Reactor.

Last one I really felt good about was with a turian soldier and a talon. The headahots just kept piling up. And I ended up with over 200k. My friends that were with me just couldn't believe the carnage I had just caused.

Yeah, that's it, perfect description! Also, that Volus merc game must have been epic!

Precisely. By the start of wave 9 I had used an ops pack and 3 thermal clips. It felt good.

Tsoldier with suppressor + hurricane and geth scanner with drill/AP ammo was the first thing I tried when Reckoning came out. My favourite Tsoldier loadout ever. I still haven't been able to get a very good game with it though, too much lag when I pug. Quite the same lenghtwave, it seems, yep ;)

Man, you should have been there. The shots I pulled!

On wave 6 we got an escort starting from the control room. I went a bit ahead of the team, behind the corner and down the ramp, cause I knew everything and its mother was in the courtyard and I wanted to clean it up a bit. Spotted two phantoms and a dragoon closing in, and something unconsciously clicked. I compensated the position of the last phantom by moving a bit to the left, aimed at the head of the first phantom, quick-scoped, fired and BOOOM! - triple kill.

I was like -

Yea I have those days where I'm in the zone. Occasionally I have days where I'm just not feeling it and/or have distractions going on so I tend to give it a break for a day or two.

Perfect? No. I have had games in which at the end I was very pleased with my play in the game and knew I had done a good job in all areas. I often bring myself back down to earth soon enough as I change classes a lot and can easily play craptacular the very next game.

Oh yes, it doesn't last long. The game after I changed kit, got an awful map/enemy combo and played pretty crap

If I can go through a game without using medigel, that counts as a "good game" for me.
