ive spoken to the dwarf in redcliffe he says hes given me stens sword after i ended the conversation it says items received but i haven't got the sword in my inventory neither has it updated the quest it's still a current quest HELP

oh well the item you recieve is the key to a chest in the room, on the right, behind the dwarf

it wont let me open the chest after i finished the conversation it says you need a key to unlock it so i killed the dwarf got the key and all that was in the chest was a few gems and some coins???????????

your best bet then is to reload a previous save and play it again

edit:  and also you might be looking for the sword in the wrong place it will not be where the other weapons
are it will be the spot where gifts are placed in your backpack.  That would explain why it hasnt updated either ,
it wont  not untill you give him the sword.   Hope this helps

thank the maker ive got it i went back to ozammar to speak to the merchant in case i needed more information i didn't he said ‘ive told you all i know i swear’ went back to redcliffe and it was there in the chest

You don't get the sword as a weapon from Dwyn.....it comes as a GIFT....then you have to give the GIFT to Sten.....

yep cheers it wasn't in the chest though all that was in there was a few gems and some coins it only appeared there after i went back to the merchant in orzammar and then back to redcliffe but it was worth the trek as i now have asla
