Noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo. No, no, no. God, no.

If MP affected the SP my anti-social side and my completionist side would be forced to battle to the death.
Yes, it would be that dramatic.

Dragon Age would be the last game I would ever want to see multiplayer in. I would rather they put all of their focus on making the single player experience as epic as it can possibly be. This notion that every game must have some kind of multiplayer shoehorned in is ludicrous. Dragon Age: Origins was successful without it, games like The Elder Scrolls are still successful without it, and this proves that if your game is great enough, it does not need it.

I'll tell you this right now, BioWare. More people will be pissed about there being multiplayer added then there will be people who are upset that it is not there. Don't make the same mistake of trying to 'go after the broader audience' again. You had a broad audience with Origins, and even though some of us still like DAII, it's still blatantly obvious that you guys need to swing for the fences and make a game that is truly worthy of the Dragon Age name. And it does not need to have multiplayer in order to qualify.

That is just not what Dragon Age is about, so I beg you to remember what you started and why it was so successful to begin with. Do that and build on it with the new tech, and you will be successful yet again. It may sound cheesy, but 'if you build it, they will come' rings true here.

No thanks.

Then my inner single player completionist would feel like I'd have to play MP to get the most out of the game.

The MP should affect the SP in absolutely no way what-so-ever.
I enjoyed ME3's MP, but without the DLC it is almost impossible to get the 'perfect' ending. I don't want to feel like I need to play the MP to do my best in SP.

Multiplayer in a single player franchise shouls always be optional.
Impacting single player is not being optional.

I think Yahtzee put it best in his latest review. It's for simcity but by extension he tells a few home truths about EA and online features. Be warned it contains adult humour.

Nope.

And judging by EA's track record the DA:I multiplayer will just be some shoehorned tacked on multiplayer anyway that's only fun to play for a few hours or so. Then it'll get repetitive. Why would I want that to affect what is supposed to be a single player game?

I'm sure EA would love for every game to be turned into COD that way. Spend a month on a 5 hour campaign then make some extra maps, call it multiplayer then ship and sell it and let the suckers give you their money. Then start working on next year's sequel. Just put in enough work that people don't notice it's the exact same game slightly reskinned.

ME3 MP having an affect on SP is why we got that horrible war asset system. MP should be its own thing and not connect to SP.

MP shouldn't even be in a game like Dragon Age in the first place.

I love Yahtzee. I've rarely disagreed with that man. In fact the only time I can think of a disagreement was with the new Tomb Raider game. Which was really good... but... its tone and story did not match the fact that you brutalize a population the size of Indiana.

Anyway, I agree with him here wholeheartedly.

No to extra characters or quests from the MP. No to always being online or being asked if we want to "share".
I'd be okay if the MP gave items for SP which aren't best in game but are alright

you know what the MP aspect of DA:I should be in my opinion...Having no impact on the single player game at all but have a tavern where we can meet up with other players for a round of Diamondback or Wicked Grace Posted Image

I would have to know what kind of affect it has before deciding if I want it or not. It would be cool if it affected the ambient dialog, Orzammar criers and the like.

Knowing before judging, that's a strange and disturbing practice if I ever saw one..

Yes, but not how ME3 MP does.

Still, it would be cool to see some influence your gameworld from how you play MP. It just shouldn't affect the endgame or plotline. Also it should not unlock anything the SP can't by itself.
