I'd rather not have any multiplayer at all, especially multiplayer that has an effect on the single-player. I still remember having to play Mass Effect 3's multiplayer to boost my galactic readiness score, when I have no interest in the multiplayer and would prefer to just get on with the single-player story. Thankfully the Extended Cut DLC made it possible to get a high enough EMS score without needing to play multiplayer, the way it should have been to begin with in my opinion.

No.

If they want to make a multiplayer game, make a separate multiplayer game.

Only if you could recruit your multiplayer character in the single player.

that is the only way it would be remotely acceptable.

Personally i'd prefer them to be completely separate.

No. Dragon age is SP. I don't want horde mode. I don't want chantry vs mage sympathizers team death match I don't want co-op. I want a SP experience. I have no desire to be online at all.

No.  I like multiplayer more when it's completely separate.

Let's imagine a few ways to make multiplayer.

Main campaign co-op.  You play through the game with another person that takes the place of a party member.  So like the co-op from Baldur's Gate basically.  That would be a separate campaign and couldn't impact the main campaign.  I suppose they could make it such that you could drop party members in your campaign and let others join your game Diablo-style.  In that scenerio multiplayer still wouldn't be affecting your game in the ME sense.  I wouldn't make use of such a feature as I'm more interested in adventuring around with fake Bioware people than I am with real people.

Co-op dungeon crawls and sieges.  If doing this I'd rather have a different character.  It would be an opportunity to explore different elements of Orlais.  And they could let you play other races since the the multiplayer mode wouldn't have the heavy cinematic requirements that single-player mode would.  And so that setup wouldn't need to touch single-player.

Why no co-op? It's something you don't have to do and other players could enjoy, doesn't even have to be online co-op

Multiplayer should not affect the single player game in any way. At all. Period.
Bad enough they're putting in multiplayer in the first place...

Between console players sure. But the fact is most MP these days is done online. And I want nothing to with online connection for a SP game. If I want to play with others I'll play a more social game. Besides does every single damn game these days have to have a online component? Is it vital that I have automatic update about what I'm doing in a game? No.

I would enjoy such a thing.

Actually, I wouldn't mind a DA game that was designed around MP like Borderlands or the Divine Divinity: Original Sin game.

"Wah wah EA is evil wah wah multiplayer sucks."

>_>

You know what? I trust BW to do fun multiplayer at this point because ME3's MP was fun, regardless of the ending issue.

I'd love to be able to play through the campaign co op, or a separate one altogether, like the oldschool cRPGs everyone claims to want back... or did everyone just happen to forget MP isn't anything new to RPGs?

However I do agree that no SP aspects should be altered for the MP... good MP doesn't need silly incentives to be fun.

There should not be a multiplayer in DA3. EA only requires a social component not a full blown multiplayer.

If it does have it I think having it effect aspects like money and giving the player items in single player only available by playing MP would be cool. Other than that it should not affect the story.

Why is everyone so sure this game will have a multipalyer aspect? It sounds like Bioware is hard at work on the single player and I dont think their schedule would alot much time to develope a few blown multiplayer feature. Even for ME3 the multiplayer was built by another Bioware studio.

No connection whatsoever, not even remotely. I oppose multiplayer altogether, but this is EA we're talking about, so the least they can do is not contaminate the SP, with MP filth.

No. It just sounds like it could go wrong very easily.
