I would imagine that the chances of Mac lead-writing the ME game are right up there with the likelihood of Elvis riding the Loch Ness monster up the Thames, with Jimmy Hoffa riding shotgun....

I would have said the same about Bioware ripping off content from a game to sell it as DLC once....or waste resources on MP

Neither of those examples are as suicidal as giving Supermac free reign....ever again.

that assumes Bioware realized that they did something wrong with ME3...

So far, according to their statements WE are at fault and the majority is happy according to the famous float charts and spread sheets

Then again this seems to be the new EA line of defense for everything including SimCity and microtransactions

I'm sure it will yet again be an almost great game hampered with all the little ways EA likes to **** up their games these days. I will absolutely play the next Mass Effect game, but I will likely not preorder, get the limited edition, or even buy on the day of release. We'll see how DA:I turns out, but it's unlikely I'll ever buy another Bioware title new ever again. I've given them enough of my money.

 Yes.

I bought Mass Effect on recommendations and I've loved every minute of it (well, every one but 10 or so).

Until they do something REALLY sigh-worthy, I'm sticking with it.

No I will not, having played The Witcher 2 and Bioshock infinite has made me realise that Bioware isn't the Bioware of old anymore and are lacking in every aspect of game making and that there are devs out there who still now how to make an engaging experience.
I probably won't be buying any Bioware game in the near future until something truly noticeable happens ( in a positive way).

For Mass Effect, this would mean a new lead gamedesigner who restructures the game and a new engine, Casey and Mac leaving and a refresh in the team altogether.

No. Not a fan of BioWare's current artistic vision.

Do I "plan" to? No, not until Bioware shows that they can tell a complete story again (no short cuts, no budget shortages, no endings that defy logic and lore).

If I do buy it, it won't be at full price..

As someone who has just bought the trilogy on PC after 100% completion on the Trilogy on the 360, I have to say yes.

The next Mass Effect is being developed by the team who behind the Citadel(please correct me if I'm wrong) and they were behind the MP(which was hated when announced by was actually quite good when all was said and done)

However, if the next Mass Effect is a prequel, either during a previous cycle or even playing as Garrus during his C-Sec/Archangel days then I will probably still get it but it won't be a "must have" I wouldn't mind these games as a spin-off or even an expansion but I don't want the next franchise to be in the past.

I will also be giving the next game amiss if it is COD/BF clone. Yes there was aspects of that in ME3 but it still had a good story and I could still shape my experience. I want to live in the universe not be given a running tour.

I have said it before, A Mass Effect that somehow carries over my save data, and that takes place after the events of ME3 is a system seller to me. Hell a Mass Effect that doesn't take my data over but takes places in the future is still a next gen system seller to me.

Actually, if I'm not mistaken, the next Mass Effect is being developed by the team behind the Omega DLC, not Citadel.

I'm probably going to buy it but I can't say for sure. Even if I was upset by the ending in ME3 I still think that Bioware makes the best game experiences today. Yes, their games have flaws but like Blizzard they are in a league of their own when it comes to quality. The only game that I have played the last few years that is of the same quality as Bioware and Blizzard made games is Deus Ex: Human Revolution.

The problem with Bioware is that they have set the bar pretty high so when they don't meet expectations, we as fans call it a failure even though the game is a lot better than most of the games out there, like Dragon Age 2 or SWTOR.

I am hoping for a reboot or a sequel, prequels or sidestories don't appeal to me that much, but I think they will have a hard time making a sequel with the ending in ME3 unless they go for destroy or control and with some imagination you can probably fit the green ending aswell by making a story based on not everything got synthezised in the galaxy.

Maybe later, this will be no first month or preorder purchase for me. I don' t trust Bioware to hold up the quality till the end. I don' t want to invest so much time for a bad ending again.

Bioware has to of taken something for ME3. If there was truly never anything wrong with it than they wouldn't of had to defend it the way they did.

Okay, from the beginning, the PAX East results are skewed because only 40% of the people that played Mass Effect 3 actually beat the whole trilogy, meaning that the majority would have been happy because (assuming) they didn't develop the attatchment with Shepard that culminates after playing ALL 3 games. So, of course-logically speaking-Bioware is going to say that MOST of the people were happy, but most of the people don't understand all the lore or haven't experienced all three games, so MOST of the players aren't going to complain about the ending. To me, Mass Effect 1 is the game that stays true to the themes of the franchise and sadly 60% of the players never really took the opportunity to understand it. Since MOST of the players didn't complain, then Bioware is going to not really care much about what we say on the forums about the game because, to them, most of the people were happy (objectively). Also, it seems like the most outspoken people tend to flock on the forums, and a lot of people have already left because BW isn't going to change the game no matter how hard we complain. I'm looking forward to Project Eternity from Obsidium, because, from the looks of it, the consumer is going to have more power than ever on the result of the game.

It all depends if the new team that's taking over the ME games, think carefully about what's going to happen next, I wont buy it if it's a half rushed buggy game like da2 was that was just awful...

I don't plan on buying it. At all. I developed an attachment to THESE characters, including Shepard, and at most, we'll get an easter egg with an unsatisfyingly short cameo here or there.

But will I end up buying it? It's likely. No interest though if they do the online-only thing or continue to do the EA-money-grubbing day-one-DLC craziness though. I mean.. not even trying to hide that they have to meet a DLC quota. I get it. EA's about the bottom line. And it's unfortunate that they had to spend their last DLC as fan appeasement to fix their sloppy screw-ups. Hell, it was so bad that I kind of wish they had one last DLC to just fix the endings. And/or give us some more options with some closure. It's so bad that I would ACTUALLY pay for that.

If I were to say no I would be lying, so the answer is yes.

Like many people, I was GREATLY disappointed by the ending, and I'm skeptical as to how the ME series can continue without Shepard. But when I really ask myself, can I see myself not buying the game, the answer is no. Mass Effect has been my favorite game series of all time, I love the universe, the plot, the characters, etc, to just say it simply, Mass Effect is in my blood.

There's absolutely no way I see myself not purchasing the next game, NOW, if the next game turns out to be a failure or tries to appeal the "casual" gamer, then that's it for me.

you're right. My interest was in the characters and their relationships and that recieved no closure in the end (thank go for fanfic).
The mass effect series has left me disapointed so no i don't plan on buying it. beside the way EA is going it'll end up being a standard shooter with barely any rpg and choice making elements.
tank you EA for f*cking up my favourite games series.

Well another thing i like to add is ill wait and see. Im tired of catsuit wearing squadmates with breather masks. I want proper frikin armor. Consistency of lore is another and finally please make the cutscenes properly meaning cutscene-gameplay segregation should be removed. IF the next game seems to avoid these pitfalls and youtube videos prove it, i will go ahead and buy the game

That is exactly the point, we will give them another chance, maybe we will be less euphoric and don' t preorder but we will leave the series when the next game doesn' t match our high expactations and EA/Bioware wouldn' t even realise that we left while the last 2 games weren' t what the community wanted them to be. EA is great in looking not far enough in the past, they proved that with a lot of other games like fifa 12 to fifa 13, the same game with updated rooster for the full price?

i really do not know.

There are a few games coming out shortly that might make me think twice about re-entering the mass effect universe. One of which has a 10 year storyarc.

I'll probably buy it. I still love the universe they created, the different species and their backstories, and the lore when it stays consistent. It really all depends on what direction they take the series though. If ME4 decides to take ME1 or 2 for inspiration, I'm all hands on deck, but if the Catalyst and the ending choices is an indication of a pseudo-philosophical direction about the evolution of life, I'm out.

In short, not a first day purchase, but if I can get back into the universe I love and resolve some galactic conflicts with superior firepower, I'll pick it up.

No. First and foremost, even tho Citadel DLC was fantastic and Mass Effect 2 is my favorite game, Mass Effect 3 did so many things wrong- not just the horrific endings. Plus, I no longer have any confidence in BioWare. The company has changed. Forever. The Dr's got out while the gettin's were good, so to speak. EA and it's business model and practices now will forvever dictate future projects of BioWare- Day 1 DLC, micortransactions, over priced DLC- 10 bucks for From Ashes, c'mon. 15 bucks for Omega- Joking???? Furthermore, I believe that Mass Effect 4 will resemble nothing of the original trilogy, making it a non-factor for me. I will not be supporting BioWare products until there are massive changes in practice and policy, and changes at the top in key positions- game directors, lead writers, and Ect, Ect. BioWare is not the company that gave us ME1, ME2, DA1, KoTOR. they're just not. All things come to an end. They're are no fairy tale endings...... Only endings.

I will definitely wait until I know what's behind the new game. I will not call it ME4, because for me Mass Effect means Shepard and his/her crew. So no Shepard, no Mass Effect. I love the universe, but I also loved the characters and they can never be replaced. NEVER. I doubt I would get into the game, just like that. I think I would always compare the new characters with Shepard and the crew. Not a good start at all...
So time will show, if I find the new game interesting enough. I was so excited about ME3 and preordered it as soon as it was possible - this is not going to happen with the next game.
