Preorder: no effin' way
Buy on release: no effin' way
Buy on PC: not with DRM/Origin
Buy on Playstation: depends on wether it's a PS3 release (not sure about PS4 yet)

So I guess I'd buy it for the Playstation 3, and only if it gets great user reviews. And probably even then I'd wait until after the DLC cycle is finished.

Not if BioWare lacks a certain level of transparency like they do now. We should be able to engage with the developers and although the fans are partly to blame, there is no reason they should have let the situation deteriorate to... well, what it did.

I don't know whether I am ready to let go, even with Citadel, because I don't believe that Shepard recieved the appropriate send-off; Citadel, in fact, seemed to reinforce my opinion of just how much wasted potential Mass Effect 3 had.

this completely. and i probably will, but I'm not gonna pre-order it. It will probably just be like DA2 - LET DOWN

Definitely maybe. Leaning towards a "no" at the moment.

I never preorder anyway, though I sometimes do buy on release for games where I think quality is ensured.
Not interested in buying a digital copy for a game with little PC benefits and definitely no Origin.

I would buy Mass effect 4 if it has a good writing quality and good atmosphere and characters and has a solid story.
But given how Mass effect 3 ruined the universe, that is impossible so I can't see myself purchasing Mass effect 4.

Keep in mind PC has the advantage of having modders that can potentially repair the ending if they bork it up again.

Though waiting until the DLC cycle is finished before buying is a good idea.  WIth the prices nowadays it's like buying the game a second time.

Considering mass effect 3 it will probably be a dissapointment. I'll wait until it's released before i decide.

Don't know, probably I'll end up buying it but I'd wait to see on how the game is, so I'm pretty sure I won't buy it pre-order or release day, only when the price drops a bit maybe, time will tell ;).

I bought ME1 instantly and pre-ordered 2 and 3 as soon as it was announced, but ME4?... BioWare showed with ME3 in what direction they are heading and I don't like that. I guess I'll judge after I gathered reviews from various sources. I don't have much hopes though.

Not only am I going to buy it, I'm happy to buy a brand new console for it.

The Mass Effect universe is way bigger than Commander Shepard. So much more huge and interesting and wonderful. I love the cast and the characters I've already met, but I've had a whole trilogy with them. I've said hello, I've spent time with them, I've said goodbye, and they were brilliant throughout - but who else is brilliant?! Onwards and upwards. The setting is the star, the civilisation, the worlds, the culture; and the idea that there's a brand new squad just waiting for me to meet them is ridiculously exciting.

I can and do go back and visit my old friends whenever I want. I'm doing a playthrough of the full trilogy, and I'm in the middle of ME2 right now, and it's so engaging. A completely blank canvas is... exhilarating in a completely new way.

Most of the answeres tend to no or maybe. This doesn't look very good for Bioware... and it makes me kind of happy. I hope they feel what they did their universe.

You must consider that forums are generally a place for the cynical part of the fanbase. Then also consider that half of those who say no here are going get their pants wet at the first teaser anyway and end up buying it.

All depends on what's in Mass Effect 4. I am willing to forgive and forget, but it all depends on how Mass Effect 4 (Hopefully a new name) is executed and delivered.

No, I don't intend to buy.

If ME3 is any indication, Bioware no longer respects either its universe nor its customers.  The games are moving away from being choice-based rpgs and more towards linear shooters with on-rails stories and "choices" limited to "Nice" or "Mean" responses that amount to the same thing.

The player character now seems to exist because Bioware allows it, and will end because they demand it.  You will choose your war crime of an ending and you will like it, regardless of how much it changes the story thematically.  And anyone who speaks out against such behavior is dismissed as "confused"

Maybe things will change in the future, but I doubt it.  I think Bioware got a taste of multiplayer microtransactions and liked it.

I'm predicting shorter "campaign mode" single player games and more involved multiplayer.

I'm thinking companions will look less and less like capable soldier, scientists, or whatever and look more and more like hotties in tight outfits.

I suspect space magic will become more prevalent than it already is as a crutch for advancing the "story"

maybe I'm wrong.  I hope I am.  But I doubt it.

Nope
ME3 was not a 100% casual game because it was the end of the trilogy, from now on i think they will use the name and the ending controversy to sell a 3rd person shooter named "Mass Casuals of War"
So, nope

All the people saying no are liars. Any person who is still on this site after the Last DLC has been released and still talking about this game are on the hook no matter what side they're on. They can cry and whine all they want, but in the end they're gonna buy it.

Eh, not me sir.  I didn't buy the last 3 DLCs, why would I get a new game without a compelling reason?

I won't pre-order it that's for sure. I'll buy it if it's good, I won't if it's bad, it's that simple.

Depends on what it ends up being, but most likely, yeah. I like the lore, and even without Shepard, its an interesting universe. Don't want rts though. Any other genre is fine. I like rts, but we have enough of those
