So in a particular cutscene, I display subtitles with no VO. I created the line in an appropriate dialog file, and reference that in the cutscene with no issues. However, when the line is displayed, if nothing else comes after it, it just stays on the screen for the entire duration of the cutscene.

I have alleviated the issue by simply displaying "empty text" at the appropriate place in the cutscene, but I was wondering if there was a more elegant solution that I am missing.

Thanks.

Aha, at last a troubleshooting post that I actually understood what it meant. Sorry, a little bit excited there, still in the learning process as well . Well the most elegant way to settle it is to actually put in a VO in your dialog hehe or you could put in some dialog in your end dialogue node such as

<act>Continue<act>
or
<act>Ignores Person<act>

Another way is just to simply press "ESC" once you're done talking to the person. I understand that this happens because of the absence of a VO

Hey.

So yeah, the issue is that this dialog will be displayed within a cutscene, not in normal dialogue. So pressing ESC, or whatever won't cut it. Thanks anyway though, I'm just fine by displaying "blank line" when I want the subtitle to go away.

Ah darn it, I totally missed out the part when you said cutscene. I thought it was a regular dialog conversation scene. Sorry. Try asking amstradhero Isaw his thread in Project Announcement area, he's about to release his mod Alley of Murder with custom VO as well, so I guess it should have cutscenes in there as well. Good luck with your work.
