...when it comes to Skyrim?

- Level design?
- Mission design?
- Character design?
     >Character Creation?
- Sandbox?
- Combat mechanics?
- Skills chart?
- Graphics?

Just curious since DA and TES are almost 2 different genres.

None of the above.

“[The next Dragon Age] is gonna have the best of features from the prior Dragon Age games, but it’s also gonna have a lot of things I think players are gonna find compelling from some of the games that are out now that are doing really well with more of an open world feel,” Muzyka said.

“We’re checking [Skyrim] out aggressively. We like it. We’re big admirers of [Bethesda] and the product,” he said. “We think we can do some wonderful things.”

Racial choices, non-voiced protagonist, dialogue list, non-iconic appearances of equipment on companions and a devotion to not having a MP component.

Obviously.

The quote I'm remembering specified 'open world feel' and 'Skyrim' , but 'open world feel' doesn't suggest to me 'open world' as much as attempting for the 'feel' of an open world, regardless of actuality.I suppose I could be wrong in that remembrance, or off in my take from the wording.

Fully realized love interests who will carry your burdens and tell you that they work for Belethor, in the general goods store and that I've been a good friend to them and that means something. That, and n'wa!

I think ya'll are reading WAY too much into something that was probably maybe meant as something mostly off-hand.

Your sarcasm in this instance is borderline whining.

They probably just looking at TES for tips on how to make the world more immersive, atmospheric, etc..
Or they aren't looking at it all and they just said that to bait Skyrim casuals

They're probably wondering how Bethesda got away with such outdated ideas. Non-voiced protagonist? Unacceptable! No dialogue wheel? WHAT?!

They are making Elder Scrolls Online and with now getting the online rights to Fallout I think they are going to be moving towards online/multiplayer components too.

I would not put much stock in PR sound bites from Ray. He tends to operate on a different level from the people actually making the game.

Several/many hub levels (of different size) where NPCs react on news from other places that PC visited.
Deep/long side plots.
Faction based politics.

Bethesdsa is playing it smart, though. They aren't including multiplayer in the main installments of their games. Those titles will continue to be single player-only adventures. Instead they're making MMO's that expand upon the great ideas and lore that was introduced in the main titles.

BioWare is trying to fit multiplayer into their once single player-only games, and it's EA that's forcing them to do so. The end result is a half-assed multiplayer component that the game would have been better off without.
