The Turian Saboteur is an excellent class. To me.

I just unlocked the Saboteur the other day, so I've been trying him out with 4 points in Sabotage and Fitness. Since I unlocked the Lancer at around the same time I've been using him with that and loving playing an engineer who uses powers less often than most soldiers do:  no pew-pew and lots of ch-ch-ch-ch-ch. BUT!

What in Sam Hill do you do about Phantoms with this guy? Shepard help you if you're out of grenades when those chicks start to swarm. They laugh at Sabotage, your turret won't do enough quickly enough to hurt them, and your shields won't last long enough for your gun to take them down. I've started taking a Scorpion sidearm along just for those occasions, but what do you guys do against Phantoms with this kit?

There are many kits that are not fit to fight phantom efficiently.
Those must rely on Acolyte/soft cover to kill Phantom reliably.

theres also the Graal Spike Thrower and the Kishock Harpoon Gun.

After playing a lot with the Saboturian i came to the conclusion that skipping turret works best for me. Tried all possible combinations with the turret, its just doesnt do enough any way to convince me to put any single point into that power. neither as a damage dealer or a distractor was it any efficient. Also it barely primed anything for a tech combo.

Also tried the Lancer with it, and im not really a fan of that gun either. Kills too slow for my taste.

I am using Kishock for long-mid range, Wraith/Piranha/Talon for close-mid range strictly with incendiary ammo.

kishock and its shieldgate ignoring mechanism makes a joke of phantoms and dragons but
also maruders, centurions and collector captains. It also can pierce trough guardian shields.
against armored targets homing grenade weapon damage armor mitigation decrease is great, also it deals good
damage.

My other weapon combination wich worked well was hurricane with graal.

ha ha... you sound like a wise native american elder.

i just finished a uug with the saboteur, trying once again to enjoy this kit. i even used one of my favorites, wraith, and was still unimpressed. i gotta admit that out of the 5 times i've tried this kit, using op's suggestions, they were all reaper games so i haven't been able to hack pyros and turrets. terrible, slow moving, slow damage-dealing slug.

my vorcha hunter can obliterate his enemies with some gunfire, incinerate and heavy melee faster than the sluggish saboteur setting up his turret, then sabotaging and shooting his slow-motion wiffle-ball grenade in the air.
